My hair is thick and on the coarse side, so I've always had a hard time using hair straighteners to get it the way I want it. It takes me about an hour to blow dry it and a half hour to flat iron it. The majority of the irons I've ever used didn't allow me to adjust the temperature, which made my hair feel like it was on fire. After using some of my previous irons, my hair became so hot that I couldn't even stand it.To be completely honest, I didn't have high hopes for the flat iron. I was in severe need of a new iron and chose to go with it even though it didn't appear as great as some of the fancier high-end ones. I'm very glad I did! The following are some of the highlights:- The iron arrived with a ton of accessories, which was first. The comb really helped me get all of my baby hairs and to achieve a really nice, thorough straightening, and I love the clips because they help me handle my hair while it's hot. The iron is gorgeous on its own! I was able to raise the temperature to the "thick/corse" range (about 375) without straying too much into a risk area for my hair because this model allows you to manage the temperature at which you're ironing your hair. You can adjust the iron's temperature from the bottom, and there is a good, large digital readout that displays the temperature. A row of blue led lights on the readout show when the reading is warming up and when it has finished. This is great since it ensures that I'm straightening at the right temperature for ME and that I'm not getting too hot or cold. I couldn't believe it, but after using this iron, my hair was so chilly to the touch that I had to tape it (DO NOT RECOMMEND) to make sure it was actually on. I had no trouble handling my hair, which allowed me to style it more effectively.Overall, I am happy with my purchase! Because it supports dual voltage, I learned about this flat iron via a travel blog and decided to get it for a vacation to Italy. Although I've previously owned Conair, Chi, and I-Tech straighteners, this one is AMAZING! My previous straightener was four years old, so it was about time. I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this one, and I believe it was worthwhile. I had to use this new one right away because I acquired it today before I went home for my lunch break. I was surprised to see that it actually does heat up in 15 seconds as promised. Your hair is really not tugged at all! Additionally, it gives my hair a stunning transformation by increasing shine unlike anything a flat iron has ever achieved. You should know that managing my hair is quite difficult. Despite being Caucasian, my hair has always been thick, coarse, and wavy. My hair responded brilliantly to this iron. 10/10 would advise! Although hair curling is supposed to be done using this side, it cannot be done on oneself. Typically, when using a curling iron, you use the same hand that you use to twist the iron in your hair to operate the open and close mechanisms. With this iron, you hold the handle with your right hand while keeping the iron closed over your hair with your left hand. All of the hair falls out of the iron as you release the grip with your left hand to turn the iron, giving your hair an unattractive crimp. Albeit officially a straightener, this product did not work for me (although it is not my first pick!).
