This was bought for a planned beach vacation. We needed a container where the sand and water could drain. This seems to be ideal. The zipper and the reinforced bottom are why I chose this. I've purchased a dozen zip-up bags that are similar. This is the only open top tote I own right now. Possibly not my last. I envisioned hanging this from a door or perhaps some metal shelving. Additionally, I prefer to look inside a container before I start looking around aimlessly for something that might not be there. It might even serve as a small hamper for delicates, socks, or other items. On the front, there are two mesh pockets. It is bigger than the zippered totes I have that are 12 x 12. I haven't had it long enough to judge its toughness. The choice to travel is yours. The top is open. If it topples, things might fall out. I'm glad I bought it, though.

Trust me, I've owned a lot of bags, but this is quickly becoming one of my favorites! The layout was carefully considered. A water bottle and then some can fit in the side pockets. I can easily fit two bottles in each pocket, for instance. For the gym, the front zipped compartment is ideal for storing my phone and keys. The interior is VERY spacious. Suitable as a weekender bag for travel. I don't use the zippered laptop pocket, but there is one. I also pack things into the zippered net pocket. There are a few more tiny netted pockets inside, where I placed some essentials like a hairbrush and hand sanitizer. It is obvious from the material's thickness that it will endure for a long period. The handles have a cute tiny Adidas 3-striped accent, and the zippers are really smooth. I didn't think I would care about the fact that the handles button together, but it actually makes it more comfortable to wear on my shoulder. There are also sturdy fabric loops in the side (bottle) pockets. I'm not sure what they are for, but I attached my gym locker combination to one of them. It is very convenient not to have to search inside the bag for that when I need it. I can also imagine people attaching water bottle handles or keychains to them. I have nothing but positive things to say about this bag!

The straps are comfortable and the perfect length (you won't feel the bag exactly under your armpit). First of all, I made the decision to get this bag for use when I fly or go out of town for just one night. The fact that I carry a lot of trash in my purse is one of the problems I have with the TSA. Depending on the state of the airport I fly out of. I always have to get go of so many of my personal belongings.
