It was made even simpler for me by using a Dremel with a sanding tool to remove burrs from the drilled hold. In the hole of the locking stud, a straightforward brass body Masterlock with a one-quarter inch shackle works perfectly. One word of advice: be careful not to overtighten the nut and damage the rubber washer. Now, how might this good product be improved? The can's optimal internal dimensions are significantly decreased by the stud, washer, and nut within. I've discovered it lowers the capacity of a.50 cal ammo can by one box of 50 rounds of ammunition. An extremely thin head bolt inserted from the inside of the ammo can and fastened with a drilled and tapped stud would be the almost ideal—but more difficult to produce—solution.

This is a fantastic technique to use a single holster with several gear setups. To use the QLS fork, you need a suitable Safariland belt loop, paddle, or other object to attach the receiver plate to. (I tried using G-Code and Blade-Tech components out of curiosity, but it didn't work for me.)My SWAT duty belt, an Uncle Mike's Kodra Ultra Duty Belt that is 2" wide, has a Safariland 567BL (black plastic belt loop) linked to a QLS Receiver Plate. I was first dubious about the belt loop's durability, but after four years, it has stood up to everything I've thrown at it.My patrol belt's Safariland High Ride Duty Belt Loop has a second receiver plate attached to it. I can quickly transition from my patrol belt to my SWAT belt thanks to the QLS Fork that is fastened to my Safariland ALS 6378 Duty Holster. I can quickly go to my security duty setup thanks to another plate fastened to a Safariland standard hip paddle.I have a fork on a Safariland 578 GLS Pro Fit so I can use my Glock 21 on any of the aforementioned configurations without a light.Although you can, I've never needed to drill a plate into a piece of furniture, a location in my automobile, or anywhere else.high functionality across different gear configurations. If you take your time, have some basic tools, and good twist drill bits, installing is simple and easy. Close the latch, look through the existing hole in the latch, and use a Sharpie to make a dot in the center of the hole that needs to be drilled. Empty the can first, then position it on its hinge side on a level surface (I worked on the concrete basement floor with the ammo can on cardboard). As you peer through the latch's rounded opening, make sure your mark is properly centered. Use a little twist drill bit to start drilling (the instructions said to use a 1/16" in my cordless drill first). You'll have an easier time if you have a stepped drill bit. To finish the task, switch to a larger twist drill bit. As directed, attach the hardware and gasket, but don't twist them up too tightly. The latch hole needed to be very slightly enlarged, so I had to run a 1/2" twist drill bit through it while orbitally moving the drill. Before doing this, place a block of wood between the latch and the ammunition can. Finally, to ensure that the existing latch hole will correctly connect with the lock hardware as it closes, you will need to "tweak" the newly fitted hardware upward at a very tiny angle. When the latch was entirely open, I inserted my lock through the newly installed hardware's new lock loophole and gently pryed upward. I predict that it will require a 3-5 degree upward tilt from horizontal (see photo). This is necessary because when you close the latch, it engages the end of the new "lock loop" at an angle. The pre-existing latch hole can be enlarged beyond its 1/2" diameter in order to prevent having to "tweak" the newly installed hardware's upward inclination. I hope this aids someone in installing.

For an O/U shotgun that cannot accept a cable lock, I purchased these gun locks. These are really easy to use and are effective. They are not the most sturdy, as some of the other reviewers have remarked. If I had the desire for some strange reason, I'm confident that I could break them off with some hand tools. I'm happy because my goal in getting these locks was to protect my guns from my kids playing with them, not to become a locksmith. They are made of metal and fasten firmly. To achieve the best results, position one of the pins behind the trigger. That might not be possible depending on your weapon. One of my guns didn't have enough room for a pin to slip in behind the trigger. The locks serve their purpose and increase the safety of storing firearms.

For a cross-country travel, I bought a five-pack of these combo locks to make sure I was in compliance with the requirement to lock my firearms when crossing state lines. These combo locks are simple to set up, the directions are clear, and I had all 5 setup in under a minute. Combo locks are far superior to key locks since misplacing the keys to your prized weaponry is a genuine hassle.Standard big length locks with an exterior shielding for protection. The trigger lock has a sturdy build. The lock's design enables it to be modified to fit a variety of handgun models as well as bolt action, single shot, or pump rifles. Lever action rifle could not be secured by lock after numerous attempts. When I first tried, the lock itself slipped in my left hand while I was setting the combination, and the small screwdriver (included) slipped off the "pin," setting the combination at the point the "pin" came out. I'd recommend holding the lock very tightly or securing it in a vice while you keep the "pin" pushed in and choose your new combination. Fortunately, I was able to "trial/error" my way back to the factory settings. Compared to previous combination locks I've owned, this lock is significantly stronger overall and of good quality. Purchasing the locks in a five-pack was cost-effective and beneficial.
