Yes, a gong is a percussion instrument. It is usually made of metal or stone and is struck with a mallet to produce a ringing sound.
Yes, a gong is a membranophone because it has a membrane (skin) that vibrates to produce sound.
Gongs and cymbals are both percussion instruments. Gongs are usually made of metal and have a flat surface. They are played by being struck with a mallet. Cymbals are also made of metal, but they have a curved surface. They are played by being struck together.
Gongs and drums are two of the most important percussion instruments in the world. They both have a long history and are used in a variety of music genres. Gongs are large, metal discs that are struck with a mallet to produce a deep, resonant sound. They originated in Asia and are used in a variety of traditional music styles. Drums are cylindrical objects that are struck with sticks or hands to produce a range of sounds. They are one of the oldest musical instruments in the world and are used in many different genres of music.

My teacher, who had always coveted a gong, was thrilled with the purchase. She assembled everything as soon as I handed it to her, and everything fit together neatly and without difficulty. She now shakes it every Monday to start the week, and I'm pleased with both the product's quality and how much she likes it.

It's a wonderful gong. It sounds much louder than it does on the sample video, in my opinion. People on the other side of a 10,000 square foot office are undoubtedly irritated by me. Also has a really great, rich sound. This gong can be used to announce the start of a kung fu battle to the death, to signify the commencement of yoga or meditation, or to signal the end of the fight and the need to call guards in to remove the loser's corpse. Excellent gong all around!

Because there are a few reviews here that suggest the sound quality of this gong is subpar, I almost didn't get it at first. Please don't pay attention to such reviews. Does this gong produce the rich, conventional gong sound you've heard on television? No. Does this gong sound like your grandmother's pots and pans being banged? And no.I can guarantee you that no gong of that size could possibly produce the rich, authentic gong sound. Folks, this is a desk gong. Find a gong that is at least 10 times this size if you desire that sound. You will be astounded by the quality of this gong's construction. The wood stand is good, the cord holding the gong to the stand is of high quality, and it was very clearly hammered into its shape. You'll understand why you spent $45 on this rather than $10 on many of the others. The gong mallet didn't come with mine, but Amazon has hurriedly produced a replacement, and it will arrive on Monday, so it's not a big deal!

Classic Zildjian Gong sound
New, specially designed tabletop stand and mallet

This is a great gong, if you're looking for a reasonably small, fairly inexpensive gong. Pretty heavy, good sound, doesn't seem cheap. But the one we got did NOT come with the stand pictured, rather it came with another one you can see around the Web (the more traditional-looking all-metal stand with two vertical bars and the gong hanging from a bar across them) (the more traditional-looking all-metal stand with two vertical bars and the gong hanging from a bar across them). We actually wanted the stand we got, so it was a bonus for us, but word to the wise ... Another good thing about the stand we got is that the metal base bars are wide enough to take some pads or little feet, if you want to put the thing on furniture that might be damaged otherwise.

It was precisely as stated, and because it's little, the sound resembles a brassy bell rather than the ubiquitous "gong" sound effect heard in Asian-themed movies. However, it served my goal admirably (the "time's up" sound in a storytelling competition), so I'm glad I chose this model rather a more expensive one.

One of my collection's most beloved wind chimes! This is my second one; the previous one I had for a very long time finally passed away in the vast wind chime cemetery in the sky! This one is absolutely recommended due of how straightforward and serene it is.
Gongs are a type of musical instrument that have been used in various cultures for centuries. They are typically made from metal or stone, and vary in size and shape. Gong instruments are usually played with mallets, and produce a range of sounds that can be used for various purposes, such as signaling, ceremonial purposes, or simply for creating music.
There are three types of gong: the flat gong, the bossed gong, and the bowl gong. The flat gong is a flat, circular metal disc with a raised rim. The bossed gong is a metal disc with a raised, central boss or knob. The bowl gong is a metal bowl with a raised rim.
The two gongs instrument is a percussion instrument consisting of two gongs of different sizes. The smaller gong is called the "ding" and the larger gong is called the "tawg".
The types of gong are percussion instruments which are played by being struck with a mallet. They are of two main types: bossed gongs and flat gongs. Bossed gongs have a raised boss or knob in the centre, while flat gongs are, as the name suggests, flat.
An instrument with 8 gongs is called a gamelan.
