I finished putting this together by myself in 45 minutes on a medium-sized floor space. Inputting the seat into the floor frame was the last and most difficult process, and two persons would have made it much simpler. The secret is to slide the seat frame in while keeping one of the floor frame sides extremely loosely fastened to the connecting slats. After that, compress the loose side and tighten the bolts. The only other things you really need to complete the task are some floor space and a screwdriver. I use a 10-inch Mozaic futon mattress with the durable and reliable frame, and the outcomes are fantastic!

First off, it is VERY nicely made and won't disintegrate. For putting it together, I only awarded it four stars.You will need an electric screwdriver and hammer or mallet to assemble this, among other things.Second, separate the planks according to size, differences, etc.; do the same with the screws, etc.; this will save you a lot of time. I separated the screws using an egg carton.Although you can definitely handle this on your own, I strongly advise getting a friend to assist you.Next, you'll need a place to assemble this. The back ends of the seat will be independent from the frame.One last, very crucial piece of advice: measure twice, cut once. In this case, be sure you didn't put the parts upside down before driving the pins in. Unfortunately, I repeatedly missed the instructions and found it quite difficult to remove the pins. Therefore, be sure to look at the photographs and go on to make sure everything is correct.To put this together, you'll need some time and lots of patience.Once put together, it is quite well made and will last for a very long time.Utilizing it is pretty simple. How low or high you want the futon back depends on the five configurations. When first put together, it appears low, but after the mattress is added, it looks much better.even simply across is quite simple to lay.Although fashioned of sturdy wood, this is unfinished. This is a piece that you must put together. If you have never "Built" these kinds of items before, you might wish to enlist the assistance of a professional. However, the directions are sufficient. With two individuals, things do go more easily. The hole in one of the screw-in anchors was torn out. I'll try to tuck it in by stuffing some toothpicks with adhesive. I still haven't. But you should exercise caution in this situation. With softer woods, the screw in anchors often cause this. So don't handle things roughly.Other than that, I'm very happy and I appreciate the side shelves' drop-down feature. Nicely done.

I adore it! a little more than an hour and a half for my son and I to assemble. The identities of each item were all carefully marked. With illustrations and colored dots to indicate how the components should be oriented in relation to one another, the directions were simple to follow. Five stars for that. For later added security, I filled the wooden dowel holes with glue. My 11-year-old would have trouble converting the futon from a sofa to a bed by himself, but hey, that's what Dad is for. The futon can be converted from a couch to a bed simply if done by an adult-sized person.All in all, this futon is well-made from wood. What Is BasicI got this frame so I could use it every day as my own bed. There are solid wooden components. Every bolt and fastener was present. Allen keys are the only tool needed, and I actually got two of them (one in each part baggie). One page of the instructions was printed in color on each sheet of paper, and they were stapled together. The instructions were simple to comprehend and adhere to. The first box contained all the long pieces of wood, while the second box contained the ends of the frame. The wood frame has a uniform finish on all sides, and all of my pieces arrived in perfect condition.The DramaMy frame came a day earlier than was initially anticipated. To ensure that the packages arrived, I had to work from home, but the small emergency was averted. In NYC, I reside in a four-story walk-up. The frame was delivered to my front door by FedEx (which is 1 floor above ground level). I was able to carry the frame up the remaining flights on my own, one box at a time. The heaviest box is the one with the long wooden pieces, and I'd estimate that it weighs around 50 pounds. To avoid bumping, rubbing, and scratching during delivery, I discovered the wood components wrapped in plastic and separated by styrofoam when I opened the boxes. I examined every component and compared it to the instructions' parts list. To help protect them from being crushed, cardboard was taped to the outside of the plastic-wrapped little parts.I divided the components into three main groups: the foundation, the upper frame, and the bottom frame (couch back). Additionally, this is the order in which the assembly instructions will guide you. Despite the instructions calling for two people to assemble this frame, I was able to do it alone. Before beginning assembly, I suggest reading the instruction manual at least once. I believe many tried to skip through without fully reading the directions based on what I have read in other reviews. I can only imagine the issues you will cause for yourself if you disregard the color code for the couch seat and back pieces, which use very comparable parts. Additionally, you will be told to leave bolts slack in the instructions. Until you read the note telling you to tighten the bolts, I advise manually tightening everything. I tightened everything at that point using the Allen Key that was provided.After putting your frame together, I advise testing the conversion procedure without a mattress. If you move further, you will see that the base is made to lock the frame in place so that it can serve as a bed (from couch front position). I suppose this is intended to stop the bed from folding up while lying or sitting close to the middle of the frame. Before turning the bed back into a couch or chair, the opposite must be done.I bought pads to stop my hardwood floor from becoming scratched when I moved my bed toward or away from my wall because I was aware that I was not buying a "wall hugger" frame. This created a special issue that a carpeted room might not have. I lift straight up on the back portion of my couch before making it into a bed. If the frame also raises, I'll know the door is still locked. So I know to push the frame to the unlocked position while holding it. I then make the same motion while moving to the other side of the bed.I start on each side and raise the back till I can see my mattress beginning to fold when I'm turning it into a couch. The ends are then pushed together by lifting the seat section and applying pressure. The frame will begin to rise into the posture of a couch due to the weight of the mattress and frame. Then, before sitting, I stroll to the opposite side to check sure it is securely locked in place. Despite the fact that it was slightly delayed due to flooding in our neighborhood, we received our futon or sofa in a timely manner. You don't actually require two individuals.3. At least 3 mistakes will be made by you. Therefore, save any tightening at the very end.4. Man, you really have to study the illustrations. Put the puzzle pieces together exactly as shown in the drawings, paying attention to the details (like which end has the curve or foot)5. Do you recall those little screws? You require. an electrical. Screwdriver. Since these are wood screws, they are difficult to install without some power. Some thread imperfectly yet continue to operate.6. Screw those tiny bolts in such a way that the narrow plastic side is away from the screw head; else, your fingers will be ripped off.7. Don't interrupt your son's presentation about the Berlin Wall to offer assistance.8. Refrain from drinking if you're working on that Berlin presentation and becoming frustrated9. Discard the tiny adhesive patches that go on the bottoms of legs. They immediately detach. Plastic bottoms prevent floor scuffing.10. Purchase a friction pad to prevent the futon from slipping as a favor to yourself.Don't be scared off by the assembly and pass up this cheapo. You are capable of doing it. You'll be proud to stand.

The frame is now complete, and I'm pleased as punch with my purchase. It was quite simple to construct and has a beautiful, solid appearance. There are various comments about structural integrity and closing difficulties that I can absolutely understand. However, if you use a different technique than what is outlined in the instructions, I think the breaking issues might be avoidable and it is definitely possible to quickly close the frame by yourself (and I'm a smaller person).HOW TO BUILD THE FRAMENow that I know there are multiple methods to install the seat incorrectly, I can see why some people would have drooping and breakage in the frame much below its intended weight limit. It would be VERY simple to do by accident without even recognizing it. — Nearly completed it myself.—In step three, it is crucial to pay close attention to how the SEAT FRAME (O) is positioned in relation to the BARS (Q). When installed (such that the bars are below the mesh), the wire mesh of the seat frame must be supported by the bars; otherwise, when someone sits on the futon, the seat's wire mesh could stretch or break away from the rest of the seat frame due to a lack of support.—Avoid grabbing the back frame by accident when installing the SEAT FRAME SUBASSEMBLY (O) in step 4. (M). The back frame does not have the same BARS (Q) to support the wire mesh in the same way, hence it cannot hold a person sitting on it. This does appear to be a design issue because it presumes that nobody will sit on the futon's rear frame when it is opened to be used as a bed. (As you would presumably do if you pushed the futon's frame away from a wall and sat on the edge like you might to tie your shoes OR if you were sitting up in bed reading with your back against a wall.)The wire mesh of the FRAME SUBASSEMBLY (O) must be orientated on top as illustrated in the bolt detail in step four in order to avoid it warping or separating from the rest of the seat frame.STOP THE FRAMELike many others, I had a really tough time closing up the frame. Actually impossible, at least when using the procedure outlined in the instructions. It helps to have two people: one to push and lift the seat while the other raises the seat back. The center of the futon seat should NOT be pushed downward (toward the floor); doing so does not appear to be helpful. As an alternative, press down on the frame's edge parallel to the plane of the futon seat and floor. I did manage to complete this task alone: It is feasible to pull up on the futon's back and push in on the seat, as another reviewer has already mentioned (again, parallel to the floor/seat rather than perpendicular to it). I have to stand close to the futon arms or the head of the bed because I am quite little, but it IS feasible.

We're big folks, so I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy it was to relax on. Absolutely very strong! One thing you really can't do in it is sit up straight, but wow, can you cuddle up on it and watch a good movie! very soothing Although it moves quite smoothly, you must be careful to prevent it from slamming. I am fortunate to have a husband who works as a furniture installation. He advises always making sure to account for every piece indicated in the instructions by first laying them out so you can verify that everything is there before putting it together! He took between 1.5 and 2 hours. Our favorite!
