Raw fresh beans are not recommended to be eaten as they can contain harmful toxins. These toxins can cause food poisoning and can be potentially fatal. If you choose to eat raw fresh beans, it is important to cook them thoroughly to reduce the risk of illness.
No, peas do not need to be soaked before cooking. Peas are small and cook quickly, so there is no need to soak them.
There's no need to boil the water before adding beans. Just add them to the pot of water and let them cook.
Soaking beans before cooking is not required, but it is recommended. Soaking beans helps to remove some of the indigestible sugars that can cause gas and bloating. It also helps to soften the beans, which makes them cook faster and more evenly.

I just had one thing to say: "THANK YOU AMAZON FRESH!" For the past three years or so, I have ordered produce from a nearby grocery store, and every time they send it, it is either already rotting or about to become spoiled. Even after calling the grocery store, I informed them that I believed they only delivered fruits and vegetables that were close to spoil to those who had placed online orders. These beans were excellent! They were remained tasty after more than a week! They taste wonderful and are incredibly fresh. I've ordered these three times, and each time they arrived in good condition and tasted great when I eventually got around to cooking them. I just can't express enough what beautiful produce Amazon Fresh has to provide.

Quick and in excellent condition delivery. I started by soaking a cup of these beans in cold water for several hours in a small Crock pot. After soaking them for a few hours, I cooked them slowly for five to six hours, stirring roughly every hour. Wow, they certainly performed well! These are a great purchase if you're seeking for non-GMO, organic cranberry beans. If you truly enjoy these, get a BIG bag. This 15 pound bag won't last very long because we go through a lot of beans.

I impulsively purchased these at my neighbourhood grocery store and was smitten after just one bite!We both believe that this is the greatest brine we have ever tasted, and my husband and I are both severe pickle junkies. The benefits of combining the garlic, spices, and asparagus are quite magical.Although both the spicy and the mild green beans we've tried thus far have been wonderful, our absolute favourite is the asparagus!A word of caution: Amazon's price is approximately average. However, I recently discovered them on sale at World Market and Wegmans. I've seen them for more at my neighbourhood Safeway.

Excellent value for organic! To me, getting cleaned and organic green beans is SO worth it. It's a vegetable that, when not organic, is heavily treated with chemicals. It doesn't hurt to get the organic option at this pricing. They are consistently lovely and very fresh every time I've ordered them.

We Pennsylvania Dutch refer to these as sugar peas. Before they were widely regarded as snow peas, we were already eating them. These are far superior to frozen ones because nobody likes to eat the strings that are still attached to frozen fruit. These were brand-new. They arrived in a plastic bag that was placed inside a net bag. Take them out of the plastic bag as soon as you acquire them and keep them in the net bag alone until you're ready to clean and prepare them. The first time I stored them in the plastic bag, I made a mistake, and by the time I cooked them, they were mushy. They keep fresh for a few days until I need them now that I only store them in the net bag. But the Penna, I prefer them with just browned butter. The German method is to cover them in butter and a little milk.

LOVE! These beans are large, creamy, and of excellent quality. They appear interesting to eat and new because of their size. There are merely beans and water on the list of ingredients. They need a substantial quantity of salt or seasoning because there isn't any salt added. The beans are a little delicate, so stir gently, and if using in soups, add just before serving. One of my favorite quick dinner recipes calls for draining and rinsing these butter beans, heating them in the microwave (you can also add chopped onion or bell pepper), drizzling them with a good evoo, seasoning them with salt and pepper and perhaps some fresh chopped herbs, and then topping them with homemade whole wheat breadcrumbs. You can also use Italian seasoned panko or the crumbs from the bottom of a package of croutons or stuffing mix.All the Carmelina/Mangia bean kinds I've tested have left me quite pleased. When you don't have the time to soak and prepare your own dried beans from scratch, try this great, healthful product instead. The product is from Italy.Similar to others, I have also used up some dented cans first (nothing so damaged that it was unusable). Since this problem persists despite my repeated orders of beans over the past few years and Amazon has yet to address it, I have little confidence that it will be fixed.Update (5/15/2015): On my most recent order, the cans were arrived without dents and in wonderful shape! The cans are now packaged in a cardboard box with inside cardboard dividers.
There is a great debate among cooks as to whether beans should be seasoned before or after cooking. The argument for seasoning before cooking is that the seasoning will penetrate the bean and flavor it throughout. The argument for seasoning after cooking is that the seasoning will sit on the surface of the bean and not be as effective. So, which is the right way to season beans? The answer may depend on the type of bean you are using. For example, if you are using a dry bean that has been soaked overnight, seasoning before cooking may be the best option. The soaking process will have
There are a few things you can do to give peas more flavor. One is to cook them with other flavorful ingredients like onions, garlic, or bacon. Another is to add some spice with fresh or dried herbs, or a pinch of chili pepper. You can also try roasting peas in the oven with a little olive oil and sea salt for a crispy, savory treat. Whatever method you choose, make sure not to overcook the peas so they retain their bright green color and remain slightly firm to the bite.
There are a few things you can do to make peas taste better. One is to add some butter or olive oil to them. This will help to bring out their natural sweetness. Another way to make them taste better is to add some salt and pepper. This will help to enhance the flavor of the peas. Finally, you can also add some cheese to them. This will add a nice creaminess to the dish.
Peas and beans can be boiled for different lengths of time depending on what type of dish you are making. For example, if you are making a soup or stew, you will want to boil the peas and beans for a longer time so they are soft and easy to eat. If you are making a salad or side dish, you can boil the peas and beans for a shorter time so they are still firm and have some texture.
Fresh beans usually take around 30 minutes to cook through. This can vary depending on the type of bean and how fresh they are. If they are older or dried out, they may take longer to cook.
You should boil peas for about three to five minutes. Any longer and they will start to become mushy.
