Even after cleaning the magnetic heads, I've had difficulties for years getting my Sears Kenmore disposer to operate properly. Waste occasionally sat in the drain for a few days before I was able to get the stopper to function since it never seemed to seat well in the drain and required multiple twists and turns to work. After 4 years of very minimal use, I thought I was screwed when my garbage disposal started to hum. I initially assumed it was the fuse or the outlet, but when I plugged in another appliance (a hair dryer), it started to operate. I can therefore rule out a problem with the outlet.I tried to trip the red button at the bottom of the disposal, but it was not there because I don't use it very often.After that, I looked into garbage disposals and troubleshooting, which is how I discovered this tool. I spent $8 on it because I reasoned that I wanted it to bend or break in order to prevent more harm to the disposal.I began spinning as soon as I inserted the wrench in the bottom middle of the garbage disposal. Go clockwise and counterclockwise until it is reasonably smooth. At first, it was a little difficult. I had the impression that I was turning the wheels to crush a tiny seed.I connected the garbage disposal once more and turned on the electricity. It's like music to my ears now that everything is back to normal. This tiny device worked and helped me avoid buying a new disposal or "calling a plumber," saving me a ton of money.Always disconnect the disposal before inspecting it or sticking your fingers inside to troubleshoot. You should also disconnect your device when using this tool, it is advised.

Excellent replacements for a dispensing splash guard that has decayed or been torn If the guard between the garbage disposal and drain in your sink is rotting, you may easily remove it with a sharp knife or exacto blade before inserting one of these pressure-fit replacements until it is level with the lip of the garbage disposal. Wonderful tiny device that simply detaches for use as a scraper or tamper and allows water flow and small food particles to pass through. The only thing I kind of wished Danco would do is sell the Genie 2 elsewhere outside just QVC. Although Danco advertises the Genie 2 on their website and QVC is the only retailer that carries it, I would have chosen the Genie 2. Kind of stupid They are essentially the same, but one of them also functions as a sink stopper, having a rubber ring around it that seals completely when turned. So be it. I should also add that, contrary to what some have said, it is not a universal fit. This was too large for my Waste King 2600, but that was fixed by gradually filing down each edge (a very small amount at a time, evenly). I don't have to pull my stopper out every time because it sits low in the opening, allowing me to continue using it. Overall, it's a pretty straightforward and efficient gadget to use if you want to prevent heavy debris from dropping into the disposal while still allowing water to flow through. Note to Danco: Perhaps you could replace the sticker that was wrapped around the body of mine with one that is simple to remove?

These fit my Sink Master food disposer's 3" opening flawlessly. They are silent, push food scraps and waste into the grinding chamber as needed, and guard against foreign objects (spoons, bottle caps, plastic wrap) harming the item or the disposer. The splash guard allows water to drain easily. When gunky, they are simply replaced. I ordered from this vendor since they mentioned the size and the number of 4 was available at an appealing price after contacting the manufacturer identified in the product brochure who did not specify an opening size. Because of the unfavorable reviews I saw, I almost didn't buy this, but because I really needed a new splash guard, I decided to do it. Now that I've used it for almost a month, I'm forced to question whether people who left a negative review actually used a brand-new Waste King disposal or if they were using one that was already placed in their houses and the splash guard was worn out. I say this because if they had, they would have understood that you want a "tight" fit and "food won't simply get through," which is how the original guard fit and functioned. Over five years ago, I bought a Waste King 8000 to replace my old garbage disposal. I just became aware that occasionally when I ran the garbage disposal, my guard would actually come out and spray horrible, chunky water everywhere! Once, as the garbage disposal was running, it fell in! Therefore, the tight, snug fit is excellent! Second, the older splash guard was beginning to let objects slip through. Have you ever had to cut up a spoon or clean up a ground shot glass after they accidentally dropped into your garbage disposal? I have!! And I'm happy to report that after installing this new guard, neither my shot glasses nor silverware are slipping through! So yes, occasionally the larger, thicker bits of food require a little assistance to be pushed through, but again, that is how the original operate, and it is worthwhile knowing that the food that shouldn't get past the guard isn't unintentionally being ground up. That being said, wasn't the guard's primary function to "guard" in the first place? Because it functions just like the original that was included with the disposal when we purchased it years ago, I gave it five stars.

Excellent quality at a reasonable cost. Definitely fits, if a little snug. When the time comes to swap it out for another one, I might need to remove it using long-nose pliers or similar tool. It fits snugly, but I'm not worried about taking it off. The workmanship and design are excellent, with a strong design. I'm delighted I chose to get this one as opposed to one or two at a greater unit cost. For transportation and storage under your sink, they easily stack on top of one another. When I bought this product, there were no reviews available, so there was a small amount of risk involved in not knowing what other customers thought of it. You can rely on my evaluation because I am currently ranked #185 on Amazon. Although waste disposal units from different brands might fit slightly differently, they are now largely standardized. But be sure to accurately measure your old splash guard and compare its dimensions to this one. On the market, there are undoubtedly waste disposal units of all sizes.

The parts for my disposal and sink were thrown out by the contractor I hired to install my cabinets and countertops. Great d'oh! I purchased this component to swap out the connection between my disposal and the dishwasher's output line. I selected it because the clamps are secured by screws, which the user can tighten or loosen in accordance with requirements. Installing it was really simple. You can cut it to fit various hose sizes; I had to reduce it by one. You'll need to secure the connection with one clamp to the disposal, then cut and shape the other end to fit the dishwasher hose. Lastly, you'll need to secure the connector with a second clamp to the dishwasher hose, check for leaks, and you're good to go! After my initial attempt, I experienced a small leak, but I was able to remedy it by moving the dishwasher hose and tightening the clamp again. You can accomplish anything if I can!
