Are steamers healthy? This is a difficult question to answer. Some people would say that they are, while others would say that they are not. The truth is, it really depends on the person and their own personal health goals. If someone is looking to eat healthy and steaming is their chosen cooking method, then they can definitely reap some health benefits. Steaming vegetables retains more of their nutrients than other cooking methods, such as boiling or frying. Additionally, steaming is a very gentle way to cook, so delicate foods are less likely to be overcooked and dried out
A food steamer is a kitchen appliance typically used to cook vegetables, but can also be used to cook meat. When cooking meat in a food steamer, it is important to use thinner cuts of meat so that they cook evenly. Season the meat as desired, then place it on the steamer basket. Add water to the steamer base, then cover and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions. The steam from the food steamer will cook the meat, resulting in a juicy and flavorful dish.
Yes, you can cook pasta in a steamer. You will need to add water to the steamer and then bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, you can add the pasta. Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
You can put chicken in a steamer, but you need to be careful not to overcook it. Chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is my review of the Nostalgia hds248coke Coca-Cola Hot Dog Steamer, which I tested today and am extremely pleased with. I'll start with the packaging, which features a very eye-catching box and collector's personalization. The machine arrives well protected and ordered, is disarmed, and is then tested. This time, I prepared 16 sausages, which are small and fit perfectly despite my perception that they can fit more than 24, as per the instructions. The bread is I heartily endorse this item; it performs superbly, and I already understand your want to purchase it. For the price, it is well worth it, and it exudes a presence that makes you want to keep it in your possession rather than use it. I'm a happy customer. I hope my evaluation, which includes pictures of the items I mention, is helpful.

I bought this to replace my old Oster steamer, and I'm very glad I did! Compared to my previous Oster, this new one is significantly lighter and requires less counter space thanks to its smaller base. I can steam much more food at once because it comes with an extra basket and the baskets carry the same amount of food as the old ones did. The cover goes over all of the baskets, which is really wonderful, and they all nest inside of one another for simple storage, even the rice basket. The drip tray's handles are a really nice addition because they allow you to remove it for cleaning while it is still hot without risking finger burns. The drip tray in my new Oster is also much deeper than the one in my old Oster, ensuring that the drop water stays in the drip tray and doesn't spill over into the bottom portion with the steamer water, keeping the steamer water tray clean. The water heats up quickly and begins to steam within a couple of minutes — I read the review that was leaked, but mine wasn't at all leaked. Simply put, I'm ecstatic with this steamer and happy that I upgraded at last.

This is precisely what I needed. I need to be able to remove the feet and use the Instant Pot trivet for the bottom support because I will largely use it in an Instant Pot Duo Mini 3 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Steamer, Sauté, Yogurt Maker and Warmer (which I really enjoy). I also purchased the Steamer Basket Seafood Steamer Food Steamer Vegetable Steamer 100%Stainless Steel - 5.3" to 9.3" - Stainless Steel, and the Pasta Steamer Folding Collapsible Basket for Various Size Pots by Timmy at the same time as this steamer. Timmy's steamer is much flimsier and less expensive (although it costs the same as this TOPOKO steamer). I gave the Timmy back and will gladly retain this one. Despite the fact that it is entirely flexible, it fits comfortably in a sizable pot on the stovetop even though I intend to use it primarily in the Instant Pot. Purchase this; you won't regret it.

Let me first express my one criticism: These need to be secured together somehow because if you accidentally nudge them, they separate (mine did, that could have been very bad.) other from thatI've used it to cook some dogs, and it works wonderfully. However, it took longer than 20 minutes, so I'm not sure if I simply didn't wait long enough for it to heat up before checking the time, or what. Regardless, it works really well.I got it primarily as a cheat since I'm a docent at a state park and we host potlucks, and since I live alone, I don't need to prepare 24 hot dogs at once. Simply plug this in, stuff a bunch of dogs inside, and off we go.So certainly, I would suggest it—with the exception of one issue.

Since I've had it for about a month, I've really enjoyed using it. Both cleaning and using it are simple. The primary cooking area's glass construction with a stainless steel accent is appealing to me. On the insert so far, I haven't noticed any corrosion at all. Although the insert does not appear to be as thickly constructed as I had anticipated, it does appear to be durable enough to survive for some time, so this shouldn't be a problem. I've never had any bending problems with it. Not really that slim. The dish is thick glass. Although I doubt it is constructed of glass of the same caliber as Corningware, it should last if you take care not to drop it. To give you an idea of how much space you have, the cook area on the steam tray measures approximately 11 3/4 by 7 inches. The fact that I was worried about cooking vegetables in plastic was one of the main factors in my decision to buy this device. According to what I've read, there are more issues beyond bpa, so even plastic that is bpa-free might still pose risks. Just enough research hasn't been done yet to conclude that bpa-free plastic is fully safe for use in the kitchen. I decided to buy this unit because it was the only one I could discover that seemed to be constructed of safe materials.I absolutely dislike how the user cannot access the base of the appliance, where the water is cooked, because it is entirely enclosed. I wanted to be sure that the stainless steel used to boil the water was actually stainless steel. All I could discover in the instructions to describe the base was that it had brushed stainless steel casing. That indicates to me that the outward shiny material is made of stainless steel. It might also be taken to mean what is included within the apparatus. Not everything is made apparent. To open the base and examine what was within, I tried unscrewing the bottom, but the snap-together nature of the plastic made it nearly hard to do so. I gave up on it since I didn't want to ruin my steamer. The bottom of the container had numerous air holes, and I was able to sort of peer inside and see a massive metal plate that might have been the storage area for the water or simply a guard for the electronics. It is really worrying that the terminology they use to describe the substance that the water cooks in is so hazy.At the back of the device, there is an additional reservoir with a 1 liter capacity that is housed in plastic. During cooking, it is simply removed and replaced. A low water alert will appear on the display and you will hear a slow, persistent beep if the water level drops. Simply remove the reservoir, fill it with water by unscrewing the lid, and then replace it. A plastic push-pin will automatically release the water into the base. It lasts a while because I can cook approximately three things at once before I need to reload.Rubberized and plastic are also used to make the tube that transports steam from the base unit to the location where the food is. Therefore, if you are extremely picky about how much steam contact those products get, this will be a negative for this product.I made the decision to hold out hope that the metal casing genuinely contains the area where the water is cooked. Therefore, the air tube and the water reservoir at the back of the device are the only areas of concern left. Even though emptying the water after each use of the pot should reduce the quantity of strange plastic material that seeps into the water, I rarely do so because it is so inconvenient. What makes me eat vegetables is how easily the cooker makes it. Without this convenience, I'm not sure how motivated I would be to prepare healthy meals for myself. I am therefore overlooking the unit's shortcomings in favor of the far better food than the likely quick food I would be consuming. I feel better knowing that the food is at least cooking on stainless steel. How damaging is steamed air when it comes into contact with rubber and plastic? I'm not sure. There are cook times for different veggies, seafood, and chicken in the instructions. Potatoes are one of my favorite foods to steam in this appliance. They take around 20 minutes to prepare if sliced into 1-inch cubes, and they turn out fantastic! The beeping of this device is something that irritates me. I don't know why the makers don't include a feature to reduce the noise down, but because I work nights, I worry that the beeping would wake up my roommate. Using this during the day shouldn't cause any problems. Although it is not quite loud enough to rouse the dead, it is loud enough to be heard in another room. But you're out of luck if you want silence. When you turn it on, when you choose something, and when it's finished, it beeps. And when it turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity, I believe there is one more beep. Three beeps in a row. Arg. I was trying to cover an audio port with tape, but I believe the noise is coming from the bottom vents, which you can't cover with tape without warming the entire device and maybe posing a fire risk.I keep using this since it's so convenient. I don't have to watch my meal while hunched over a stove. When the potatoes are done, I add my vegetables and then I walk away. If I wanted to add more food that would cook faster, I could press the pause button after a predetermined number of minutes. The steam tube can be descaled using a solution of white vinegar and water that is cooked until the calcium buildup is gone. I haven't yet had to perform that. The digital display is easy to use and understand. Start it up by pressing the start button. To find what you wish to cook, scroll the wheel. In my situation, it's typically vegetables. You then click the start button after moving the wheel to the appropriate cooking time. The time is measured in 30 second segments. You won't get exactly how many seconds you want from it. But for a steamer, that probably isn't necessary.

This is what I use to prepare homemade baby food that needs to be thoroughly steamed, and this tiny triangle does just that. My only complaints are that I wish it came in different colors like grey or black and that the white steamer basket stains fairly easily. I've had to steam carrots and sweet potatoes so far, and both stained the white steamer basket, but it cleaned up after a little soak and did not affect usage overall. What used to take me up to an hour now takes me only 15 minutes. This takes rid of all of that and completes the process in 5 minutes or less whether you like steamed vegetables or, like me, make baby food, which typically requires pots, hot metal steamers that take up a lot of room, plenty of water, and additional clean-up.

When cooking for 1-3 people, this size is ideal. I decided to try steaming my vegetables instead of using the microwave. To my amazement, the hard-boiled eggs I made using the steam method are amazing. It's the best idea I've had in a long time, and I chose this steamer because of the excellent ratings on Amazon. It's so simple to use, so simple to clean, perfect for small living spaces or locations with little storage.

Our rice steamer has been here for five months. With the exception of my initial attempt, every batch has been excellent. We enjoy Chinese food with rice and steamed vegetables or grilled chicken. To accompany it, I even cooked some spicy sauce shrimp (see photo)I've seen reviews that describe how the product melts and turns cooked rice into a solid lump. I have no idea how they are obtaining their results. I adhere to the instructions provided with the steamer. I begin with the shortest period of time indicated. I add another two minutes after opening the bowl and giving the rice a paddle toss. If the water hasn't completely absorbed, open it, check, stir it, and then put it back in for another minute or two.Additionally, I discovered that washing the rice had a significant impact on how it cooked. Wash bowls are widely available on Amazon.I'm very happy I came across this product. We won't ever again eat quick rice.

Every week I boiled his fruits and veggies before placing them in the blender when I made the decision to try to make some baby food for my son. Later, when he was older, I discovered that doing so renders all of their nutrients inert. So, to make things a little bit healthier after I had my second child, I made the decision to purchase a steamer. The Oster Food Steamer was mine to buy. You need to put water in the bottom chamber before using it. A minimum line and a maximum line are present. Normally, I place it directly between the two. Then put fruits, veggies, meats, or anything else you want to cook in the plastic containers. To distinguish the two compartments, there is a plastic ring that you insert in the center. You can create two distinct things simultaneously thanks to this. You can utilize either one or both of them. There is a knob to turn after covering it to adjust the steamer's time setting. It might take some time. For fruits, I normally set it for 40–45 minutes, and for vegetables, I set it for 45–50 minutes. To get the food very soft for puréeing, do this. To keep the vegetables firmer, you can simmer them for a shorter period of time. I can't comment on it because I've never used it for meat. Some users claim that when they used their steamer, it leaked. Only once, when I overfilled it with water and it beyond the limit line, has that ever happened to me. You must exercise caution not to do it.Advantages include: -Easy to use -Lightweight -Easy to cleanCons: -Leaks if filled with too much water -When cooking, the bottom compartment occasionally bubbles up and seems foamy, but it doesn't seem to harm the produce.Compared to other, more resilient steamers, it is a plastic steamer with plastic compartments, but it works for me. I've had it for over 8 months and have been using it once a week. It continues to function as intended. With my purchase, I'm pleased.

Let me start by stating that I use a steamer on a regular basis. I frequently use it to steam vegetables, cook rice, and hard boil eggs. I also use it periodically to cook chicken, fish, and hotdogs, which are a favorite dish of my grandchildren. As a result, you can imagine how unhappy I was when my old steamer eventually stopped working. It had been operating effectively for almost 10 years, and now I was forced to try to locate something else that would function just as well. I conducted a ton of research before deciding on this model. It was a wise choice.Unlike my old steamer, which only had a dial, this one is entirely digital. I can select the delay start timer to begin at any time between 30 minutes and 24 hours from now. Although I've just poured water and reset the time when steaming tamales, which can take up to two hours, the maximum steam time is one hour. The device enters "warm" mode for up to an hour after the predetermined amount of time has passed. The device will beep and show "Lo" if I'm not paying close attention and the water level drops too low. It's easy to add water; just open the water drawer and fill it. I can always see the water level because there is a viewing window. If you want to steam multiple items at once, the two steaming bowls stack; otherwise, you can remove one of the bowls and steam only one item. One cup of rice at a time will be steamed in the rice bowl. On the occasions that I packed both steam bowls, there were no issues with the food cooking at the same time. The ability to stack both bowls while removing the bottom from the higher bowl is a really good feature. I now have twice as much vertical room, allowing me to steam corn on the cob or tamales while standing upright.I hope to use this steamer for many years because I'm currently in love with it. If I have any issues, I'll update this review.
You can steam frozen vegetables. Place the frozen vegetables in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 5 to 7 minutes or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
Yes, you can steam in an air fryer. This is a great way to cook vegetables or fish. All you need is a little water in the bottom of the air fryer and a steamer basket.
A food steamer is a kitchen appliance typically used to cook rice or vegetables, but which can also be used to cook fish, meat, or dim sum. The device typically consists of a heating element and a water reservoir, with a perforated platform that sits above the water. The food to be cooked is placed on the platform, and as the water boils, steam rises and cooks the food. Because food steamers use only water to cook food, they are very energy efficient. In fact, steam cooking is one of the most efficient methods of cooking, as it uses
When choosing a vegetable steamer, the most important factor to consider is the size of the steamer. Make sure to choose a steamer that is the appropriate size for the pot or pan you will be using. Another important factor to consider is the material the steamer is made of. Some steamers are made of plastic, while others are made of metal. Choose a steamer that is made of a durable material that will not rust or corrode.
There are a few different ways that you can make a homemade steamer. One way is to take a pot or pan and fill it with water, then place a heat-safe bowl on top of the pot or pan. Put your food in the bowl and cover the bowl with a lid. Put the pot or pan on the stove and bring the water to a boil. The steam will cook the food in the bowl. Another way is to take a pot or pan and fill it with water, then place a colander or steamer basket in the pot or pan. Put your food
Veggies are best when they are cooked until they are tender, but still have a bit of a bite to them. This can vary depending on the vegetable, but as a general rule of thumb, most veggies should be steamed for 3-5 minutes.
