My workspace was flying around one night after I had just moved into a new condo. In New Hampshire, black flies, no-see-ums, mosquitoes, and horseflies are troublesome for the most of the summer. When we took lengthy walks, one of my dogs, Marshall, sometimes known as "the stinky one," frequently trailed a huge cloud of insects. I was cautiously optimistic that this gadget would be helpful because I was fascinated as a child by how well my dad's old hanging insect light functioned. Not only does it function flawlessly, but I went a week without charging it before doing so simply because I didn't think it would last that long. I probably use it to zap 100 horseflies and 50 mosquitoes a day, and it's sort of entertaining to try to do it while walking. The bigger bugs, like horseflies, frequently get stuck in the grates, forcing you to blow or scrape them out in order to prevent them from sitting there and shorting out the grid and cooking (which smells bad). As a result, the dogs may not necessarily LOVE it, but it is still a game-changer. It became a game to "swipe" all the bugs off of everyone while you're walking after my wife started using it on a trek up in Maine where the mosquitoes were severe. This review was not produced at the expense of any flies. For killing flies, almost any bundle of paper would work just as well as these, but for the price, these were fantastic additions to the house. The have been employed as "hands" in a variety of kid-invented skill games, as a hiking spider web whacker, and in kid-on-kid revenge (can confirm these hurt when they strike you, no need to test this for yourself, kids have been scolded for hitting). Two smaller children spent some time chasing two flies around the home, which gave them fantastic exercise and kept them occupied. Simply leave the door open to keep kids amused for nothing. In my experience, both flies survived and, later in the day, returned through the front entrance. We have only recently acquired these, but so far, it has been one of the more entertaining toys that has captured the children's minds. As the grilling season heats up and more doors are left open than closed in fall, I completely anticipate some flies to be killed. extremely happy with the purchase.

These fly swatters showed up in red and green, the traditional Christmas hues. Even though that did not start things off the way I had hoped because I don't often see flies at this time of year, I made the decision to give them a chance. Compared to my old fly swatter, which started to break into bits while in use near the end of its "useful" life, they are a heavier, more robust device. Thus, after doing very little research, the decision to buy these fly swatters ("Amazon's Choice" banner of honor recipient) was made. I was also drawn to the name. I could definitely use a smart swatter since I have a smart phone. I apologize for my lousy attempt at humor; I have no idea what I was thinking. I purchased this item to use as a fly swatter, and wow did I get my money's worth. I've been pacing around my house holding a fly swatter in each hand and a backup swatter in a pistol holster I customized for carrying it. Since these little ones arrived, I've started piling up bug bodies everywhere; you can call me the Orkin guy.
