Fluorescent lights are still used in some settings, though not as often as in the past. They can be more energy-efficient than other types of lighting, but they also can flicker and produce a harsh, blue-tinged light.
There are a few reasons that LED tubes are often seen as a better option than fluorescent tubes. One reason is that LEDs don’t contain any mercury, which is harmful to the environment. They also tend to last longer than fluorescent tubes, which can save you money in the long run. LEDs also emit a higher quality of light than fluorescent tubes, and they don’t flicker like fluorescent tubes can.
Yes, you can put a T8 bulb in a T12 fixture, but it will not work as efficiently as a T8 fixture. The reason for this is that the T8 bulbs are designed to work with a T8 ballast, which is a more efficient ballast than a T12 ballast.
Yes, in most cases you can replace a T12 with a T8. T8 bulbs are more energy-efficient and will last longer than T12 bulbs.

The (2) bulbs were placed in an oversized box with padding, shipping paper, and bubble wrap, however they weren't functional. On the initial delivery, both bulbs rattled, indicating that there was a loose piece or a crack in the tube. By just rotating the bulb, you can hear the mystery roll from one end to the other. Bluex was incredibly kind and quick to replace them, but sadly, the rattle-roll in the two bulbs occurred once again. So it makes sense that "fragile" could be an understatement given the tubes are just 5/8" diameter but 20.25" long; try "delicate—do not toss around on planes, UPS trucks, or porches." If I hear anything by the time the bulb goes to the lamp, the fault will be my. I'll have to check around nearby so that the business can test the stillness. However, I was quite pleased and grateful for Bluex's work and prompt answer. Perhaps not everything, especially in such a little number, is suitable for shipment. Therefore, if the product never functioned, it wouldn't be fair to score it, but the service would definitely be a 5.

I got these the following day. They were well-protected and, as anticipated, came in excellent shape because they were packaged in cardboard tubes and bubble wrap inside of another box. I enjoy the warmth of these as under-cabinet lights because they aren't yellow like warm white bulbs or dazzling like daylight lamps. They are excellent for our needs, and I would definitely purchase from this seller again because of the cheap pricing!

My main goal was to locate lights that aren't painfully white-hot bright and don't give the room a terrible yellow tinge. Although I love dark lighting, there are times in my life when I clearly need SOME light. These were originally employed to supply camera lighting, which, in case you didn't know, calls for VERY strong lights. Yet again, they aren't intrusive on a typical ceiling fan.In my 24X12 studio, only one emits the yellow hue, but four make it nice and white without causing me to squint at first power-up.They appear to be going to last for a long time, however I can't answer for their lifespan. The majority of "energy-efficient" bulbs typically endure for years. Additionally, I've been using the same type of bulbs for years, so I can't say that my energy bill has changed.

This lightbulb is for my son's piano desk lamp, which I purchased. I can no longer purchase it locally like I used to. I was able to salvage this lamp because to Amazon. The bulb is excellent quality and performs well. I was reluctant to purchase those other counterfeit brands. I don't want to keep replacing the lightbulb. If this review was helpful to you, kindly click the button.

When compared to the bluish bulb that came with my lamp, this one works excellent and emits a lot more naturally colored light. One of these was ordered, and when it was delivered, the glass bulb had a little bead (about 1.5 mm in diameter) spinning about inside it. I placed a second order and it was sent with a similar bead inside the glass, so if you order one of these, you should probably be prepared for that. It doesn't appear to be a problem in terms of how the bulb works.

These serve as grow lights for the aquarium plants I keep. I have some exotic species that need good, bright light because they are quite delicate. I require a highly powerful light source that can cut through all of the water and still provide enough energy to sustain the plants at the bottom.I've had excellent results using Philips T2 Twisters for a time. I used to use 13W (60watt-equivalent) Twister lights, but I've upped my game and switched to these 23W bulbs, which are twice as bright. Despite setting these on timers for a minimum of 8 hours each day, I haven't reached the claimed 10,000-hour lifespan in the past 18 months. With 1,600 lumens, these light bulbs are exceptionally bright. When working in my aquariums, I have to be careful to protect my eyes or otherwise they will burn enduring images into my eyes for a few minutes. My only complaint is the heat they produce. I could advise using the 13W version if you need a light for a smaller device. Purchase the 23W if you don't care about heat.

These lightbulbs appear to be very nicely made with high-quality components and careful attention to detail (unlike the bulbs that came with my fixtures). The packaging is carefully planned and packed. One of the more attractive "made in China" items I've seen.Excellent value, especially given that my neighborhood hardware store only offers one bulb for almost the same price as this 6-pack (fortunately, they only carry "cool" white).I've only used three of the six bulbs so far, but they all lit up right away and had an identical brightness. The light color (3000k) is a horrifying "daylight" (hospital) white, which is much better than the highly "warm" orange-yellow that it is now. However, it is almost too warm for me.UPDATE 4/8/18: One of the bulbs suddenly quit functioning for no apparent reason, despite only being turned on eight times for a little over an hour each time. Since this brand isn't particularly dependable, I'll stick with name brands going forward.

My wife works on her sewing using an adjustable arm lamp that has one of these circular flourescent lights and an incandescent bulb in the center. She had been nagging me for a replacement for the flourescent for a long time, but I had no idea where to look. So, after finally removing the fluorescent light from the fixture to obtain its part number, I looked it up on Amazon, found this one right away, and placed my order.Oddly, when I reinserted the old flourescent, it began to function once more. But since it was so filthy, I figured cleaning it might make it a little brighter and we could simply keep the new one on hand as a backup. a good concept poor execution One of the little spring clips that hold the bulb in the fixture dislodged when I tried to remove it again, hitting the bulb and breaking it. Sigh. It's not a big deal, though. Within two days, the wife received the replacement; it was easily installed; and the lamp is now operating as smoothly as new. If the replacement lasts even remotely as long as the original (Made in Germany), only time will tell. It's over.
Yes, you can put LED bulbs in old fluorescent fixtures. The main difference is that LED bulbs use less energy and last longer than fluorescent bulbs.
Yes, you can replace fluorescent tubes with LED tubes. LED tubes are more energy-efficient and last longer than fluorescent tubes.
Yes, fluorescent light tubes are still available for purchase. While LED lights have become more popular in recent years, fluorescent lights are still a viable option for many people. Fluorescent light tubes are more energy-efficient than incandescent bulbs and can last up to 10 times longer.
If you have an LED tube, you do not need a starter.
The main difference between a LED tube and a fluorescent tube is the way they produce light. A LED tube uses an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) to produce light, while a fluorescent tube uses an electrical current to excite a mercury vapor which then produces ultraviolet light. This ultraviolet light is then converted into visible light by a phosphor coating on the inside of the tube.
