Should baseboards be caulked at floor?

Should baseboards match floor or trim?

Baseboards are one of those design details that can make or break a room. While some design experts argue that baseboards should always match the flooring, others believe that they should coordinate with the trim. So, what's the right answer? It depends on the overall design aesthetic you're going for in the space. If you want a more formal look, then baseboards that match the flooring can create a sense of continuity. Should baseboards touch the floor?

There's no right answer to this question - it's purely a matter of preference. Some people prefer baseboards that touch the floor, as it creates a cleaner look. FLEXTRIM Flexible T Molding: 2" Size with Oak Grain Texture - 140" inches Long (Almost 12' feet Long) Review:

This is a revised version of my earlier assessment. I first received a faulty product. However, when I complained to Flex Trim / Flexible Millworker customer care about the flaws, they provided me new flexible T-molding and made sure it was of high quality. These were hand stained by me, and they turned out very well. I wholeheartedly endorse this product. These were just put, so I'm hopeful that the strong glue my flooring guy used will help them stay in place for a very long time.

Instatrim 3/4 Inch (Covers 3/8" Gap) Flexible, Self-Adhesive, Caulk and Trim Strips for Floors, Ceilings, Countertops and More (White, 10 Ft Long) Review:

Because I had to send it back because of the color, I can't tell you how well it works. It's tan, not "brown." I needed BROWN to match what the manufacturer put in here while rebuilding parts of my RV (see photo). I purchased BROWN, but it's obvious that this won't work. It wasn't mistakenly shipped to me as "ivory," however. I have no idea what you name it, but I do know that it is not brown.UPDATE: I just learned that the company's president has been attempting to contact me even though the original color didn't work for me. He's going to give me free access to the TWO NEW BROWN SHADES so I can see if one of them will be effective for me. That is amazing customer service right there!Update: The two new browns have arrived as of January 22, 2017. The chocolate brown color is stunning! The other is delicious too, but chocolate seems like it could be used for a lot of different things. I'll complete my project before deciding which to use because they are both incredibly lovely. Since my initial order, which contained white in October 2016, the adhesive on them has also been updated, and the original functioned perfectly for me in the bathroom. It hasn't given me any trouble coming off or not sticking. For a neat, finished look on your projects, this Instatrim is a godsend. I like it so much that I also purchased double rolls of black, gray, and white, which should be delivered today. If I don't order it, I'll never know if the gray will go with what I'm doing in my kitchen, right?Overall, this product is GREAT, and the customer service is outstanding. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

FLEXTRIM # WM105: 3/4" x 3/4" Flexible Quarter Round Molding - 8' feet Long Review:

I had no idea that such things existed! I'm quite happy with the outcome. Since I was matching it up with 5/8" quarter round, I really had to sand it down a little bit on a belt sander. Sanding was simple. precisely cuts on a mitre saw. Even better, it was expertly painted and perfectly replicates the pine finger-jointed QR that it is mated with. The fact that this bendable trim exists makes me very delighted.

Instatrim 1/2 Inch (Covers 1/4" Gap) Flexible, Self-Adhesive, Caulk and Trim Strips for Floors, Ceilings, Countertops and More (Ivory, 10 Ft Long, 2 Pack) Review:

This material conforms neatly and flawlessly around a toilet base and looks fantastic along counter surfaces. However, I would not advise using it in or near bathtubs, on the floor near showers or tubs, or in any other areas with a lot of water, including sinks. does not produce a secure seal. If you heat it up first, this will adhere much more readily. I placed it in an old microwave that I only use for home improvement projects (works fantastic for self-stick tiling projects!). Because the glue is blue and dries blue, it shines out on the white surface in places where it squeezes out (mainly at the ends). For this reason, I deducted 1 star. I discovered that removing some of the glue from the ends before gluing them down can prevent this. I wish there was a way to make an adhesive that dries transparent.
