Garden of Life Raw Organic Ground Flaxseed with Lignan and Polyphenol, 14 oz Pouch Review:

Garden of Life Products have been a staple in my nutritional arsenal for a long time now. I trust their brand implicitly. No need to crush flax seeds here, their flax is ground so all of the nutritional benefits are bursting and ready for your smoothies or sprinkling. Smooth consistency for mixing and a great source of fiber.

Organic Brown Flax Seeds, 5 Pounds — Whole Flaxseeds, Non-GMO, Kosher, Raw, Dried, Sproutable, Bulk Review:

I generally purchase Bob's Red Mill flax seeds but have noticed at certain times of the year they seem to be scarce on the grocery shelves at my local market as well as online. This five-pound bag of whole flaxseeds to the rescue! Same quality and all-important organic/non-GMO/kosher properties and at a good price for bulk shopping. Was pleased with the quick service as well. I'll be back!

Raw Golden Flax Seeds, 2 LBS - Top 14 Food Allergy Free & NON GMO by Gerbs - Vegan, Keto Safe & Kosher - Grown in Canada Review:

You won't find a better deal on raw flax seed. This is nearly the same price you would pay for 25lbs. which I've bought before AND I didn't get Non-Gmo until now. Canada seems to have the edge on the US in producing products like this, including raw shelled hemp seed. Needless to say I'm a happy camper and enjoy my bowl of granola (Nature's Path Hemp Plus) everyday with a scoop of the raw flax seed. I am using a coffee grinder to grind up, which works great. I grind up enough to last about a week. You absolutely want to do this as non-grounded flax seed will largely go right through you, with the exception of that which you manage to mash in your chewing.

Organic Ground Golden Flaxseed Meal (Cold-Milled, Raw, Non-GMO, Kosher, Bulk) by Food to live — 8 Ounces Review:

These are brown flax seeds and the quality, when compared to the brown flax seeds from my local health food store, seem to be excellent. Just judging by the in-dusty appearance of the seeds they are new and gresh and should last awhile if kept dry.

Be sure you need a lot of flax seed if you order these. The bag was quite huge--far larger than I had visualized but, then again, the price is good and you can always help feed the birds in winter.

Previously, I had ordered two pounds of flax seeds and these were golden flax seeds. I had never even known there was such a thing and my wife was only convinced that they were flax seeds when I researched them online.

Golden flax seeds are perfectly fine though I prefer the taste of the brown slightly. The Canadian flax seed website says that the brown seeds check out better nutrition wise but the difference is all of about one percent which could be a pure statistical fluke depending on a lot of variables like the growing season that year where the seeds were produced, etc. Even if you did a multi year study from multiple locations a one percent breakdown would not be statistically balid. This does bring you to your free biology lesson for the day, however.

Lesson: We well assume that the original color of flax seeds was most like brown. It follows that plant breeders either created the golden variety or found mutant plants created by nature. The golden color is attractive and seems not to be narmful though it could have been harmful had nature somehow produced a plant toxin that also imparted a golden color.

Science created something called, I believe, Golden Rice, by genetic manipulation. They took two genes from beef which produced proteins that are essentially in steaks though this does really make the rice meat. It made the rice a source of better or complete nutrition and evidently China et al jumped on it like a duck on a June bug. The anti GMO people, of course, were screaming blue hell.

The steak proteins somehow seems to have made the rice golden. Some genetic transformation either made golden flax seeds brown or brown golden. All the varieties of apples came basically from one or two basic types and represent DNA manipulation by plant breeders. There are, for instance, no real orange carrots. Carrots were originally white, yellow, red, beiged and even purplish I believe but the clever Dutch, to honor the House or Orange, created our orange carrots by, you guessed it, manipulating the genetics of yellow and red carrots.

Rice, if fed abundantly to test animals like rats over several generation, can easily and fairly quickly be tested as to safety. Rice itself is somewhat unsafe, I have heard, due to natural arsenic levels. On top of all this, Vegans et all, seem to have no compunctions whatsoever about consuming soy milk or almod milk or weird herbs that are and have not been regularly consumed by humans down through the ages. There is no quarantee that any food we eat is absolutely safe. Parsnips are really bad and stay away from star fruit. End of lesson.

Back to flax seed. This, and the golden ones I sent for, are A-Okay but you had surely better want a pile of them. Me, like an idiot, would have sent for a twenty five pound sack had not the shipping jumped the price up too high. Then my dear lady wife would have clobbered me.

Enjor.

Nutiva Organic Superseed Blend, Coconut, 10 Ounce Review:

So I just got this earlier this week, I have been on a smoothie kick lately and wanted to take my smoothies to another level. This combination is delicious. It’s super fine and grounded up so easily I can throw a scoop into my smoothie and blend away! I love how easy it is to use and how finely ground it is. I’m excited to try it on some granola for texture next. Definitely grab yourself a bag!

Terrasoul Superfoods Organic Golden Flax Seeds, 2 Lbs - Fiber | Protein | Omega Fats Review:

Eighteen years ago we invited Canada's leading heart researcher to talk to the Faculty of Science on heart health.
His single most important recommendation to us was that if we were to add one item to our diet to prevent heart disease, it would be one tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseed in our food every day. On a small sample of colleagues following this prescription- all we can say is so far so good.

The quality of Terrasoul Flax seed is A+. Thanks!

Viva Naturals - The BEST Organic Ground Flax Seed, 15 oz - Proprietary Cold-milled Technology Review:

Viva Naturals - The BEST Organic Ground Flax Seed, Proprietary Cold-milled Technology, 30 oz

Look at me, I'm being healthy! Puttin flaxseed on my oatmeal, in my smoothies, and other secret places!

How do i review flaxseed? I assume its good for me because everything i have read says so. Heck, Dr Oz recommends it so it must be so.

All i can really say is that I have been using it for months and feel pretty darn good and there have been no side effects that i can tell.

I order a good deal of products from VIVA. They are reliable and their goods come in well built resealable packaging which for this kinda thing i think is important. Their prices appear to be pretty reasonable or at least you can find their goods marked down often.
