Anglers have been using glass rods for topwater fishing for many years. While many newer materials and designs have come onto the market, glass rods are still popular for this type of fishing. There are a few reasons for this. First, glass is very durable and can withstand a lot of abuse. Second, glass is very sensitive, so anglers can feel even the slightest bite. And finally, glass rods are very affordable, making them a great option for budget-minded anglers.
This is a difficult question to answer definitively because different fish have different eyesight capabilities. Some fish can see lures just fine in low-light or even dark conditions, while others have a harder time. In general, though, it is probably safe to say that fish can see lures at night as long as there is some source of light available for them to see by. This could be moonlight, artificial light from a nearby dock or streetlamp, or even the light emitted by the lure itself. So, if you're fishing at night and want to give yourself the best
Yes, you can use a spinning rod for topwater, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you'll need a reel that can handle the weight and size of the topwater lure. Second, you'll need to use a heavier line than you would for other types of fishing. And finally, you'll need to be careful not to let the topwater lure get tangled in your line.

A fave of mine forever! Let me be clear right away: It's a rapala, therefore of course it catches fish! Sincerely, I can state that I have never used a Rapala lure that FAILED to land a fish. But one of the very first lures I learnt to fish with as a young child was the RNR-5 in the shad pattern. I've replaced it numerous times throughout the years after catching all types of fish on it. At one of the lowest costs available, this is among the top lipless crankbaits available. affordable and efficient If the huge fish grabs it, set the hook and hold on while you fish it with a straight retrieve (just throw it out and reel it in).

I've been fly fishing for the past few years, but a couple of weeks ago I made the decision to invest in a spinning rod and reel setup since I missed it after a few years of fly fishing. (Not to mention that fly fishing gear is much, much more expensive than bass fishing gear!) Anyway, after receiving my kit, I realized I needed tackle, so I decided to invest in this collection. I reasoned that even if just 25% of the lures are good, I'll still have gotten my money's worth. The craftsmanship of these lures has really blown me away. I've been using the assortment of lures in this pack because retention ponds are all over where I reside. The majority of all, I've had wonderful success with them, and everything I've fished has held up well so far. These lures aren't the best, but thus far they've been very effective. I'm spending very little money with them while having a ton of fun.

I've been using Dynamic lures on Wisconsin trout streams for a number of years. More trout are caught with them than with spinners or other crankbaits. When the water is high and murky, they are particularly effective. These lures wiggle differently than any other lure I've ever tried. I have at least 25 of these lures, and I have caught so many trout on them that the paint has literally come off of them. Particularly brown trout will destroy them. On these lures, I've caught fish ranging in size from 7" to 21". I've caught smallmouth, walleye, and pike in addition to trout, so there must be something about these lures that draws fish. I heartily endorse these.Advice based on my experience1) Instead of using a snap swivel, tie these straight to your line. That is superfluous and dampens the action.2) To prevent line breakage while fishing near a lot of bush or rocks where the line can get pinched, cut the line a few feet above the bait and retie it roughly every hour while out on the water.3) Cast as near to the cover as you can. These lures can withstand being bounced off of objects like logs, rocks, and vegetation. I don't avoid dense cover, and despite my abuse of these lures, they continue to be effective.4) Don't be scared to cast into shallow water or current. Even when it appears impossible, the trout zero in on them.5) Don't be reluctant to use them in chilly weather either. I caught fish in an 8-degree blizzard last April. The front hook of the lure can tangle with the line on certain throws and stop working until you reel the lure back in and disentangle it. This is the only drawback I've noticed. It can be annoying, but I haven't discovered a solution to stop it with any lure other than to make smooth casts.Oh, and "Trout Natural" and "Glimmer Trout" are my two fave hues. When the water is cloudy, I use sparkle, and when it's clear, I use natural. Purchase some, and try it out!

Okay, I frequently make purchases from Amazon, but this is my first review. I haven't fished in a while, but I recently purchased some new gear, including this lure. My second cast had a good Bass, and my first cast was a hit. I pulled the bass out of the water, and as I was ready to grab him (I'm assuming he weighed around 3 pounds), he snapped my line and snatched my new bait. I hoped to see it in the water while I watched for him to spit it out, but I didn't. I placed another order. I substituted a Zebco 888 and a 25-pound test line (I know that sounds a little crazy bass fishing wit a Zebco 888 but I love the distance I can cast with it and I fish off a dock at a private lake, no boat.) and this third cast resulted in a superb 24" Bass; see photos. Although I didn't weigh it, its size speaks for itself. Such a great lure. I've caught a number of fish that I believed ought to have sought for smaller bait. This lure appeals to me and the bass as well! I caught several fish, but none were as nice as my first. One more picture was taken by me.

To get these to float properly, I had to remove the front treble hook. However, I still think these are a really decent bargain at $1 apiece. When fishing in really deep water, they will be alright if you keep the front treble attached, but in shallower water, they are likely to spend the majority of the time hanging on the bottom. In contrast to several of the less expensive lures I've tested, they do "swim" nicely. I've discovered that crank baits like these can catch the majority of fish just well with the rear treble attached, and the lure is much simpler to take out of the fish when only one treble hook is used. The lure colors seem to be very decent, which is fantastic news. Any of the hues, in my opinion, have a chance of luring a fish. I did manage to reel in a bass on my first cast, so that seems promising. I'll primarily use these with my electric trolling engine for extremely slow trolling. My trolling motor's low speed should allow these to go 3 to 5 feet deep.

Yes, top water lures float. The top of the lure is designed to float while the bottom is weighted so that it will sink when you cast it out. This design allows the lure to sit on top of the water and wobble back and forth, imitating the movement of a real fish.
To catch a fish with a topwater lure, you will need to first find a spot where you think the fish may be hiding. Once you have found a likely spot, cast your lure out and let it sit for a few moments. After a few moments, begin to retrieve your lure slowly and steadily. As you are retrieving your lure, watch for any movement in the water that may indicate a fish is striking at your lure. If you see a fish strike at your lure, quickly set the hook by jerking your rod up and to the side.
Bass are opportunistic feeders and will eat just about anything they can fit in their mouth. But they do have a few favorite foods they like to eat on top water. Some of their favorites include: frogs, crayfish, baitfish, and insects.
There's no definitive answer to this question - it depends on what look you're going for and what other colors are in your design. If you want your frog to stand out, use a bright color like orange or yellow. If you want it to blend in, use a more subdued color like brown or green. Ultimately, it's up to you!
There is no definitive answer when it comes to the best bait for bass in clear water. Different anglers have their own preferences, and what works in one situation may not work in another. Some common baits that are often used for bass fishing in clear water include crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and plastic worms. Experimenting with different types of baits and lures is often the best way to determine what works best in a particular situation.
There isn't necessarily one "best" color for topwater lures, as fish can be attracted to a variety of colors depending on the situation. That said, some colors are more visible to fish than others, so choosing a color that will stand out in the water can be helpful. In general, bright colors like chartreuse or orange are good choices for topwater lures, as they are easier for fish to see. However, it's also important to consider the water conditions and what kind of fish you're trying to catch when choosing a color - in muddy water, for
