Therefore, I must say that, actually, it doesn't seem to alter the flavor of the water. The fact that the water has some flavor after going through the filtration indicates that the filter isn't actually doing TOO much to assist purify the water since, technically, water is intended to be flavorless to begin with.I don't blame it for not doing a perfect job, but a filter can only physically filter out so much water (especially when it comes to ions, which it should be impossible for this to physically filter out, though I don't know if maybe it's designed to chemically absorb ions somehow... that is a possibility, but I'm too lazy to look into it right now).Nevertheless, because the evaluation is only for the filter replacements and not the entire Brita system, I'll give it a 5/5 since it easily connects to the faucet-mounted Brita filtration system I already own and performs as promised. Any criticism of the filtering abilities must be directed at the "brita system" as a whole.

Numerous complaints, including mine, have been made regarding the indicator light not functioning after changing the filter. By pure chance, I discovered a RESET inside the chamber's front, where the filter is supposed to fit. It resembles a SIM card. It will spring out when you press it. The light turns back on when you re-insert it. I don't know if this is a good repair, but it did the trick for me!

This genuine PUR H2O filter is a fantastic deal. It includes a filter cartridge and is very simple to install. If the faucet aerator (end of spout) is not threaded on, it will not install (screw on). Additionally, a new fitting that the filter attaches to must be installed when the old aerator is removed.The sole disadvantage of this particular model of a widely used water filter is that it is a dull color and wasn't made for use in a home kitchen. It looks the same as the other iterations of this filter save from color.Since 2002, I have used this kind of filter in three different homes. The housing hasn't leaked or sprayed in maybe a year or two. Despite what the lights on the machine say, I haven't had to change the filters more frequently than twice a year.

I spoke with the firm, and they said that while occasionally the contact points needed cleaning, etc., the cartridge was still functional. So that I would know when to modify it, I added a date to the box when I inserted the new product. This has happened twice now.

About 16 months ago, I first paid more money for this filtering system at a big box retailer. We liked the idea, but it started leaking around where it's attached to the faucet, so we came to Amazon to replace it.Since we initially bought it, it has undergone a redesign, and the minor modifications are apparent:Now, a slide is used to switch between the straight faucet and filtered water, rather than a rotating switch. Due to its location beneath the faucet and interference from the metal, the switch was always challenging to turn. Since you aren't fumbling around to reach the switch, a back-and-forth slide is simpler to operate and puts less strain on the overall system.The slide now provides three settings, including a standard faucet stream, filtered water, and a spray similar to the handheld side sprayer found on many sinks. Having all three in one is quite practical.And now, instead of a green/red circle that changes as the filter becomes more accustomed to usage, the indicator for whether the filter is still useable only flashes when the filter is being used. It is simpler to determine when to change your filter.We initially purchased this since we had a tiny fridge and it was simpler to have filtered water available on demand rather than having to fill up a filter pitcher every day. Although nothing has changed, the changes make using it frequently each day much simpler!

LMAO at those that rated it only one star. Undoubtedly in the low end of the IQ scale. You will need to replace the filters on a regular basis because they are not made to last forever and only last around 2-3 months under heavy use. DO NOT run hot water through it, as instructed, according to the instructions. It has a cold water filtering system. It includes adapters. Since I have kids who make the water filthy, I find it just as cost-effective to replace the entire unit when the filter fails (and the water starts tasting bad again). The secret to getting it to perform correctly is appropriate installation. Perhaps the Brita 6 Cup Classic BPA Free Water Pitcher with 1 Filter, White would be a better option if you lack any talent for screwing things together.
