You need a harness on a ladder if you are going to be working at heights above 6 feet.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires workers to wear a harness when working at heights greater than six feet. The harness must be properly fitted and secured to the worker, and the worker must be attached to a secure line.
A harness is a device that helps to distribute the force of a fall evenly across the body, and is an essential piece of safety equipment for many trades where working at height is required. But at what working height do you need to start using a harness? In the UK, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that a harness should be used whenever working at a height where there is a risk of falling and injuring yourself. This includes working on ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and any other situation where you could fall more than 2 metres. Of course
If you're planning on doing any serious rock climbing, you're going to need a lanyard that's at least 6 feet long. That way, if you fall, you won't fall more than a few feet before the lanyard catches you. Of course, the lanyard can only do its job if it's properly attached to both you and the rock face.

amazing harness that is ansi/osha approved. I can fit a hammer holster and a carpenter's tool bag on each side. In this heat wave we're experiencing, it does become a little warm behind the waist belt and shoulder padding, but I didn't really expect it to.With plenty of adjustment room left over for my winter bibs and coat, the xl-xxl size fits me well in my summer t-shirt and pants despite being 5'-11" and 230 lbs (a little fat around the middle).Although it might be challenging to do while wearing winter clothing, I'm confident I'll manage. The d-ring in the back is a little high, and I have to clip in from over the shoulder rather than from around the back like my old harness.overall, a fantastic harness. superior to my previous arrangement, which consisted of a tool belt over an unpadded, inexpensive harness.

I purchased this harness to install roofs. When I climb onto the roof without wearing safety gear, my wife is anxious. Although my roof only has a 28-degree slope, I nevertheless bought the harness to please her. The harness can be altered to fit people of any sizes. There was a lot of extra strap once I got the harness to fit because I'm a person of ordinary size. Instead of trimming the excess, I simply tapped it up. When the job is finished, I intend to sell the harness. Since I haven't fallen off the roof yet, I can't tell you how well it worked. The harness does increase my level of safety, and wearing it serves as a constant reminder that the work you are doing is hazardous.

It was worn by my wife as she painted a portion of our cliffside home. 1. To the side of the house where the harness was attached, I strung a cable. She painted because I had a better chance to supervise her movement and footing than if we had switched positions. 3. She is 71 years old, while I am 79 (now I'm in danger). 4. Seniors on fixed incomes sometimes make the best decisions they can, and this harness enabled that. The harness will next be put to use when I assist in mounting a ham radio antenna on our home's roof. Without your harness, none of these things would be possible. Thank you for the good product at a fair price.

There is no doubt that the Exofit NEX is priceless. Your level of comfort with loading your tools on the harness and the importance you place on your safety when working at heights go hand in hand. When you're uncomfortable, it takes your attention off of doing your work effectively... simply none of that exists here. With the locking quick connect buckles, it's simple to swiftly put the harness on and take it off. When working in various climates, quick and simple adjustment is also a lifesaver. For example, a cool spring morning with a hoodie tends to be a little more bulkier, but a short turn of a dial provides you the extra room you need to feel snug but not confined in your own gadget. As a Union Ironworker, I strongly suggest the NEX over the products that Exo Ironworkers produce. This harness offers extra cushioning and features to help us adapt to our environments' constant change. Investing in something that we risk our lives for is definitely worthwhile. There are no complaints at all. Outstanding effort, DBI/Sala, on yet another superb safety solution.

I've had the toughest trouble finding a fall protection harness that doesn't look big on me because I'm a fairly small lady (5'2", a medium in women's apparel). This Warthog harness' extra small size fits nicely, is cozy to wear all day, and doesn't move loose at all, unlike other inexpensive harnesses I've tried. It makes me really pleased!

This was purchased for my husband to use in pruning the trees in our yard. He was able to remove large branches WAY safer than previously, which makes me feel a lot less concerned when he climbs to the top of a 24 foot ladder and jumps between trees. Given where the straps must 'caress' his body, he claims the harness is as pleasant as it can be.:) Highly advised.

Wow, this harness truly is the best of the best. The trick is to not trip.If your fall yanks the harness, it cannot be put back on.There are small telltale tabs that make the item unreliable.and uninsurable warrants more inquiry for contractor.

There are many types of safety harnesses, but the most common are full-body harnesses, chest harnesses, and seat belts. Full-body harnesses are the most comprehensive type of safety harness, and are typically used in construction or industrial settings. Chest harnesses are less common, but are often used in outdoor activities such as rock climbing. Seat belts are the most common type of safety harness, and are typically used in passenger vehicles.
There are two main types of fall protection: personal fall protection systems and fall restraint systems. Personal fall protection systems are designed to stop a person from falling, while fall restraint systems are designed to prevent a person from reaching a fall hazard.
