The greatest spray baste I've ever used never jams up, and I can baste a quilt, leave it for years (literally), and then come back to quilt it when it's ready. I vouch for this material and advise every seamstress I know to use it. I'll never go back to pinning.I go through 2-3 cans a month, therefore the only reason for the 4-star rating is that I once received a can that pooped out after using considerably less than 25% of the can (seriously, maybe 10 seconds of spraying). Just what I needed, thank you! I had no idea how I was going to sew a blouse with thin chiffon correctly. My cloth was sprayed with the product like hairspray because I didn't even cover my laminate table before spreading it out and misting it until it was damp. When I used a hair dryer to blow dry it, the fabric dried rigid rather than slinky. Perfect! With the exception of a few spots where the product was too slippery and I unintentionally missed applying it, my stitches looked fantastic and I had no issues with my machine. Then I ran into some issues as my machine and needle objected. Huge improvement was made with Stiffen Quik! When I sew with chiffon again, I'll most definitely use this stuff! Oh, and the blouse returned to its slinky texture after a quick wash!

A good shortcut is my favorite! I discovered from my own indifference that flat ironing can occasionally be more effective when trying to strengthen a hem line. When I was younger, I was constantly mending hemlines because I wore flared-leg pants with high heels, which resulted in my stiletto getting trapped inside my pants and ripping out the thread. I wish I'd had access to this item back then! After attempting many starch spray items from big box retailers to stiffen up multiple baseball caps I washed that later fell flat and shapeless, I stumbled across this one. Even the heavy duty starch sprays I've tried haven't helped the hats keep their shape since they are so delicate and flimsy that even the slightest movement causes the hat shape to warp. Naturally, I desired something a little stiffer. Even though several reviews claimed that this was pricey Elmer's glue, I took a risk despite my first skepticism. I diluted the fabric stiffener using a 4 to 1 water to stiffener liquid solution, or 20% stiffener solution, as suggested by a few other reviews. I wasn't sure what to anticipate as I dusted the 20% solution onto a white baseball cap that had just been washed. Since the hat was white, the white combination didn't seem to alter its appearance in any way. The liquid applied without much difficulty, although it looked almost a bit too thin and simply soaked into the fabric of the hat. I made the decision to let the liquid solution dry for at least 12 hours, preferably over night, to observe if the hat became rigid. I'm delighted to report that the hat is stiff this morning. Although the hat fabric has a firmer texture and is formed in shape, it is not overly rigid. I'm glad I diluted the stiffener liquid before using because it's not really rigid. My baseball cap would have become as rigid as a hard hat if the liquid had remained as is. I'm satisfied with this product overall. How well it endures and whether it can be laundered will be determined with time.

Wow, I'm so glad I came across this. I'm only able to comment on the product's use at this time. I haven't washed or worn the things much just yet.My preferred clothing source is thrift stores. I simply trim the jeans short if they are too long. For an upcoming trip, I overspent and purchased two pairs of Fjallraven canvas pants. Even though they were described as "short," they were far too lengthy. I was hesitant to cut them.This product performed flawlessly, but there are a few factors to take into account: 1) After the strips are attached to the cloth, some of them could be tenacious and refuse to come off the strip and remain in the fabric. This issue led to the wasting of two strips. 2) Not all garments will have neat hems. The pants I purchased had a soft hem that could be taken up. They neatly hemmed. The remaining pieces were used to hem a stretchy pair of long Prana shorts that I had purchased at a thrift store. I couldn't take them up very much because of how gently tapered they were. There are still some noticeable creases as well. On pants, shorts, or skirts with a narrower bottom, the strips won't look good.Per leg, I used roughly four strips. For stability, I occasionally added an additional strip inside the hem. The adhesive did get on the counter, but it was simple to wipe up. Try to avoid getting it on your dog or cat, though.

For those times when a little extra seclusion might be required, I wanted to cut and hem a shower curtain to fit into an alcove for a bathroom window made of glass bricks, but I didn't want the effort of hand-hemming the curtain. I made the decision to buy one of those iron-on hem tapes. I had to try this product once I realized it didn't even need to be ironed. How easy it was to use astounded me. I put end-to-end strips of approximately 6" or so (I didn't really measure) across the bottom of the shower curtain once I had it cut to the right length. I folded the hem up and pushed it with my fingertips as I removed the backing from each piece. All it took was that. It not only performed flawlessly, but it also held up so nicely that the finished edge appears to have been ironed! (I've included images to demonstrate the outcome.) tidy and clear. From beginning to end, the job took less than 20 minutes, including the time it took to measure and cut the curtain. I'm now heading off to fix that one pair of jeans that have always been a little bit too long!Warning: I have not washed the item and would not likely dry a cloth shower curtain in a dryer (the maker advises against it), so I am unable to comment on how this product will fare under repeated washing.

The product performs as well as I had hoped. I wouldn't call this a permanent solution because we intend to replace our furniture in a few years, but it appears quite adhesive and hides a hole in the couch. I just put it on, so I can't comment to how long it will last, but they send you a sizable roll so I can re-tape it if it were to fall off. Overall, I'd say go for it!
