Yes, you can hose down your engine, but be sure to use low pressure and aim the nozzle away from electrical components.
You can use WD40 to clean engine parts, but it is not the best option. WD40 is a solvent and will remove any grease or oil from the surface, which can lead to corrosion. It is also flammable, so be careful when using it around heat sources. A better option would be to use a degreaser or engine cleaner.
Yes, you can vacuum your car engine, but you need to be careful. The engine is full of hot, moving parts, so you don’t want to get anything caught in the vacuum. Also, be careful not to touch any of the hot surfaces.
Yes, vinegar does remove oxidation from aluminum. You can use either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. Just pour either type of vinegar into a bowl and then use a clean cloth to rub the oxidation off of the aluminum.

On a restoration job I'm working on, I was using way too much brake cleaner in aerosol cans and needed a fix. I was aware that the substance came in gallons, but finding it at my neighborhood parts store proved to be very challenging. This is the real deal, and because it has been chlorinated, it seems to work better than the unchlorinated form I was buying in cans.I had my doubts about ordering a gallon of highly flammable, toxic chemicals in the mail, but the box arrived as usual thanks to Amazon Prime. On schedule, flawlessly sealed in an air cushion, and without a leak.I used one of these sprayers with it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035FH906/ref=cm cr ryp prd ttl sol 23It sprays out with good force after you pump up the can, and so far it has been perfect for all of my purposes. Although I'm sure there's way way more cleaner for the money, the initial cost of this system is virtually exactly what a case of 12 brake cleaner cans costs through my local parts store.

Due of the expense, I have always detailed my cars with Armor All. Definitely within your budget. have consistently employed it and recognized it for what it is. Again, everything was based on costs.I've recently begun entering my 1963 Beetle at auto exhibitions. I saw that many car aficionados were using Griot's Garage cleaners to polish, buff, and spit shine the vehicles at the exhibition. I observed some of them use the cleaners on their automobiles and was really pleased with the outcomes. I went ahead and purchased the Interior Detailer after viewing that. Despite the lack of a dash in my 1963 Beetle, I purchased this interior cleaner for my 2019 Chevy Equinox, which I use every day (Metallic Black). I just finished using the Griot's to detail my car's inside, which is also black. I was quite satisfied with the outcome. I didn't have any smudges or greasy buildup. The minimal sheen was constant throughout. zero gloss the odor? It's a really delicate smell that I'm not sure how to describe. It is not strong enough to be detected in a moving vehicle. It restores the new car scent to its proper state. Definitely. I like that. Makes the interior seem fantastic, without a doubt.Even though it's a bit more expensive than the more affordable cleaners, I don't think I will use them again. This will be kept for sure.

Spray it on and wash corrosion off; works in just three minutes
Neutralizes harmful acid and dissolves power-robbing corrosion
Penetrates and removes corrosion, dirt and grime instantly
Suggested Applications: Automotive, marine, farm machinery and motorcycle batteries, cables, and terminal connections

This can simplify a difficult task like cleaning battery terminals. To neutralize the acid buildup on the battery connections, I used to combine baking powder and water. The issue with doing it that way is that the baking powder solution would drip down the battery's sides, making a mess on the battery tray and the driveway where the battery is placed. Because of the drought in California, I wanted to come up with a better approach to clean the terminals without using all the water to wash the driveway. The battery's top was completely black and both terminals had accumulated dirt from not having been cleaned in a few years.I applied the cleaner foam to the battery's top as directed, paying particular attention to the area around the terminals. But to remove dissolved debris and filth, I used baby wipes rather than wiping the foam away. The battery now looks brand new after I had to spray the positive terminal twice to get everything off. I then used the paper towel to dry out all the extra liquid. I let the battery a few minutes to dry before spraying the terminals with Permatex 80370 Battery Protector and Sealer. From unclean to clean and looking brand new in about ten minutes.

Outstanding performance on aluminum
Maxima Clean Up quickly dissolves and removes hard to clean buildup on your chains
Maxima Clean Up is a heavy duty, emulsion type cleaner designed to thoroughly clean chains without harming rubber O-rings or metal surfaces
Clean Up's handy aerosol container allows you to spray it on, allow it to set for a minute and then thoroughly rinse it and the dirt away with a hard stream of water
CAUTION: May cause some painted surfaces to discolor! Do Not use on clear plastic or Lexan windshields! Flammable!

Wow, this stuff is seriously effective. Surprisingly, nothing happened when I applied it according to the directions and whacked the chain with my brush. Following the instructions, I applied water and immediately the filth and muck started to wash out. chain, now 11 years old, appears to be brand-new.One star less since there's a slight leak around the nozzle due to a less-than-perfect seal, which is sort of unpleasant.

Liqui Moly 2007 Jectron Fuel Injection Cleaner (300 ML) - 2 Pack GLOVES NOT INCLUDED
$234
In every one of my automobiles, I use Jectron every three months. It has the same effect for less money as BG 44K.To lessen our reliance on foreign oil and dilute the real petroleum content, all fuels sold on the US market include ethanol and other additives (debatable fact). These additives serve as a catalyst for the buildup of carbon and other deposits in the fuel system, specifically in the fuel filter, fuel injectors, and possibly the fuel pump. Engine performance suffers as a result of a gradual but constant loss in fuel delivery efficiency. The majority of people don't really notice that their cars are getting slower and getting less gas until the gasoline filters, fuel pumps, or injectors go out. The best way to save gasoline, money, and avoid future expensive repairs is to keep this system clean. Cheap fuel injector cleaners frequently use alcohol or other ethanol-based solvents, which only temporarily enhance performance and may even be more harmful over time. The only cleaners I rely on to truly complete the task at hand rather than just providing a short-term placebo effect are Liqui-Moly (and BG). Interestingly, Liqui-Moly is less expensive and provides equivalent outcomes to BG. I'll keep utilizing Liqui-Moly products in my cars going forward.

On a 2004 Impala 3.8 with Dex-cool, the heater was no longer heating up. Reverse flushing the heater core after thoroughly flushing the entire system revealed several deposits that resembled clay in the fluid. ran for a total of 4 hours over the course of a week while adding zerex and water. I flushed once again and was astonished at how much more crud it cleaned. In my opinion, the product is good.

I use Molten Speed Wax to polish my bicycle chains. I also employ Squirt (a wax-based lube). Recently, I made the decision to try NixFrixShun (NFS) lubrication, but before using it with a new chain, my bike fitter cautioned me to make sure that I removed all of the wax from my cassette (that was also degreased to remove the factory lube).I started by using Muc Off. Yes, some wax and grime came off, but at first I wasn't all that impressed. I followed that by applying a bit more spray and giving it a minute or so to dry. Oh my God! It's magic, this stuff! I quickly had my cassette shining and looking like new with the help of a little brush. The cassette appeared to have just been taken out of the box, and I really mean that (I know because right afterwards I installed a new version of the same cassette on a different set of wheels). Amazing.(FYI, I didn't experience any sprayer problems as others did. I'm not sure if I simply got lucky or if the design was altered.)P.S. If you use waxed chains or lubricant that contains wax, pay attention to the tiniest cogs (11, 12 and 13). The majority of my cogs were rather clean, however there was a lot of wax caked in between those tiny cogs. Although I've always loved wax lubricant, this gave me pause, especially because I've been dealing with persistent chain sliding with my 11t cog.

The chains are typically clogged up during the overhaul process, and soaking them makes them functional again. I give it a day to sit before giving it a quick soak in the solvent tank after rinsing with water. Simple cleaning requires no wire-brushing. You'll owe me thanks. Please be aware that you should not insert anything that has a plastic part, such as a freewheel gear cluster with pawls. The plastic will be consumed.

I've used this product twice to assist me pass my inspection. Just before bringing it in, I turn off the check engine light and pour this product into the tank because it has a catalytic converter fault code. The light does not turn on until I have the required miles documented for the inspection as well as occasionally for a bit after that.
A dirty engine bay can be cleaned with a variety of methods. One method is to use a pressure washer with a detergent attachment. Another method is to use a garden hose with a spray nozzle attachment. Another method is to use a brush and degreaser.
If your metal is starting to look a bit dull, there are a few ways to make it look new again. You can start by giving it a good wash with soap and water. If there is any rust, you can remove it with a wire brush or sandpaper. Once the metal is clean and dry, you can apply a new coat of paint or sealant. If you want to protect the metal from future corrosion, you can also apply a layer of wax.
Yes, it is safe to pressure wash your car engine as long as you take proper precautions. Be sure to use a low pressure setting and hold the wand at least 12 inches away from the surface. Do not aim the wand directly at electrical components or sensors.
It's not advisable to spray WD-40 on a car engine. WD-40 is a water displacement formula, which means it's designed to displace water. However, it can also displace oil, which can lead to engine problems.
It's not a good idea to spray your engine with water because it can cause rust and other damage. Water can also get into the engine and cause it to overheat.
Assuming you would like a chemical to clean an engine bay: There are a few different chemicals that can be used to clean an engine bay. However, the best chemical to use will depend on the specific engine bay that needs to be cleaned. Some engine bays may have more dirt and grime than others, and some may be more sensitive to certain chemicals than others. It is always best to consult with a professional to determine the best chemical to use for your specific engine bay.
