Best Electric Throws in 2022

Last update: January 18, 2023

Can I leave my electric blanket on all night?

You can, but it is not recommended. Electric blankets are designed to be used for short periods of time, not all night long. If you leave your electric blanket on all night, you risk over heating, which can lead to discomfort, sweating, and potentially dangerous health problems.

Can I put a comforter on top of an electric blanket?

You can put a comforter on top of an electric blanket, but it's not recommended. The comforter will trap heat and could cause the electric blanket to overheat.

Can I sit on a heated throw?

A heated throw can be a great way to add some extra warmth to your body on a cold day. However, you should never sit on a heated throw because it can cause burns. If you must sit on a heated throw, be sure to use a barrier between your body and the heated throw, such as a towel or blanket.

Do electric throws use a lot of electricity?

Electric throws are a great way to keep warm without using a lot of electricity. They use only a fraction of the electricity that a space heater would use and can be easily turned off when not in use.

Sable Electric Throw, Heated Blanket Fast-Heating, Full Body Warming ETL Certified, 10 Temperature Settings Auto Off, 50" x 60" Review:

I needed a new blanket, so I looked on Amazon and found the Sable electric throw, heated blanket. Due to the few reviews, I was first hesitant to buy it. However, I did so since the firm gave a lifetime warranty on the item, and since it was "Fulfilled by Amazon," I knew Amazon would uphold the warranty in the event the company didn't. Fortunately, I didn't need it because this electric blanket was so amazing—you can read my review to learn more.I was surprised with the packing because it allowed for easy storage and travel with the blanket. The item arrived right away the next day. When I first took the throw blanket out of the box, I was immediately astounded by its texture and feel. You wouldn't want another blanket because it was so cozy to the touch and to wrap about you. But be careful—once you use it to sleep in bed, you might never want to leave. In all honesty, it is that great. It features a three-hour auto-shutoff feature, which is really handy in case you forget to switch the setting to off after waking up. There is a perfect setting for everyone thanks to the attached electric remote's 10 preset heat settings. Any room in the house may use this hue because it is so lively and stylish. My family tried the blanket out, and they all wanted one, so I had to buy three more. And the greatest part is that it can be machine washed; all you have to do is unplug the cord and throw the blanket in the washing to make quick work of cleaning while preserving all of its wonderful attributes. Since I have already advised my friends and family to acquire one for themselves, I wholeheartedly endorse my purchase and urge others to do the same. I simply wish the blanket was available in more sizes and/or colors, but perhaps the firm has plans to do so in the future.

MaxKare Electric Blanket Heated Throw Flannel & Sherpa Reversible Fast Heating Blanket 50" x 60", ETL Certification with 3 Heating Levels & 4 Hours Auto Off, Home Office Use & Machine Washable Review:

My desk and bed are next to each other and directly in front of my bedroom window, so it is inevitable that it will be a little bit cooler and draftier (the window installation's sealing insulation isn't that excellent). However, it would get brutally cold in the winter. My toes would occasionally turn a little purple from the cold. Even though I have fur-lined slippers, I can't wear them to bed so my legs would still be freezing.I thought about getting a great throw for AGES, maybe five. Why? Being somewhat frugal, I told myself that I could just throw on some additional garments or socks, but that would actually be too uncomfortable and would cause me to have to do twice as much laundry. I finally gave in. And HARD; I bought a heated throw in addition to a regular throw. And I'm so sorry I didn't buy this sooner. This is absolutely worth every penny. The medium climbs a little bit more (clearly) to a high temperature while the low is simply little warmer than the normal body temperature. Warm and cozy, hot is a very pleasant temperature. You can very well begin to feel sleepy as a result of how pleasant it is. Even better, you could unplug the cord and use it like any other toss! Nicely done. carries considerable weight as well!I use this to cover my shoulders and head while I sleep and my legs when I'm working at my desk since sometimes I'd wake up in discomfort from the cold. I might feel like I have frostbite in my ears! The throw alone to be washed by itself before use because it sheds a little and needs to break in a little more. It also has a strange and unsettling chemical smell. BUT BEFORE DOING THIS, MAKE SURE IT ACTUALLY WORKS AND READ THE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS!Overall, this is a fantastic purchase, and as I already mentioned, I deeply regret not doing it sooner. would have spared me a great deal of discomfort and disturbed sleep.

Homde Heated Electric Throw 50 Inch x 60 Inch Flannel Washable Blanket with 3-Heat Setting Auto-Off Controller for Bed or Couch (Double Side Blue) Review:

She is incredibly attractive and only wants to cuddle up with us, which is exactly the purpose for which she was created. She does a good job, and I'm pleased with my purchase. Remove the front wire, wash on a moderate cycle, and tumble dry at a low temperature to make washing it simple. I let it dry on my banister rather than take a chance.

Pure Enrichment PureRelief Plush Heated Throw - Fast-Heating 50” x 60” Electric Blanket with 4 Heat Settings, Storage Bag and Soft, Machine-Washable Micromink and Sherpa for Cozy Couch or Bed Use Review:

The Pure Throw easily surpassed my expectations in terms of feel, appearance, and design, and it looks to be a huge improvement over heated blankets from other manufacturers that I've previously used. The heating wires are hardly noticeable and provide a smooth, fluffy feel. Although I wish the throw was available in Lavender (or really simply any shade of purple, which seems impossible to obtain from any manufacturer), the rich gray blends in beautifully with my décor and looks very classy (and oh so inviting on cold nights!).Since I received it last week, I have used it every night, and it has performed as expected—there are definite changes between the 4 heat settings, an accurate 2-hour auto-shutoff, and no overheating or malfunction.

MaxKare Electric Blanket Throw Oversized 62" x 84" Twin Flannel Fast Heating Blanket, ETL Certification with 3 Heating Levels & 8 Hours Auto Off Full Body Warm, Machine Washable Review:

On December 21st, I placed this transaction as a birthday present for myself. Since the day I received it, it has been on my bed. I have been using it every day since it arrived since I adore it. It heated up quickly and evenly compared to other products I've bought. On February 28, 2019, however, the controller ceased functioning. I double-checked every connection because I didn't think it was getting power. Everything is in functioning order, but it still won't turn on, and it is so chilly outside today that I really need it to.Since it is a month after Amazon's return deadline, I've already gotten in touch with MaxKare's customer service. I'll update this page when I hear back from them.New information:Customer service at MaxKare got in touch with me, and my blanket is already being replaced. They responded to requests quite quickly. The new blanket is here and performs admirably. The level of customer service provided by the organization is excellent.

Serta | Honeycomb Faux Fur Electric Heated Throw with 5 Setting Controller, Grey Review:

Update: The element finally turns out to be quite useful after around a week or two. My favourite. I wish I had given it more time to work before posting my initial evaluation below. Definitely would purchase again.I just received it in the mail today. I believed it would be fantastic. It is completely worthless. It feels really flimsy and cheap. There are five heat settings, but none of them really heat up the "heated" throw. Although the element in the blanket is detectable, the heat it produces is hardly audible. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this product.

Biddeford 6001-9051136-300 Micro Mink and Sherpa Electric Heated Blanket Full Brick Review:

This came after I traveled for Tennessee to visit my daughter. As soon as it arrived, my husband used it on the bed and gave it the thumbs up. I put off reviewing it until now because I wanted to see how it did. Our king-size bed protrudes outward by around 2-3". The king-size bed's top is permanently covered in heated wire. We haven't had to pull it up all the time to stretch the heating wires when making the bed, and I'm expecting that this feature will help it stay longer than the other two we've bought in the previous few of years, which only lasted a year each. It's incredibly soft and does its job flawlessly! We both have ours set to 7, and it truly keeps us toasty. The dual controls are fantastic! Elegant and simple to use! The sherpa underneath is very soft and cuddly, and the tan hue is more like a gold sheen. Our favorite! If it doesn't persist too long, I'll post again. Currently, we adore it! We've paid more for Electric Blankets of the same name brand that failed after only a year of use, so it's well worth the cost. Crossing our fingers that this one will continue for a long time!

Sunbeam Microplush Heated Throw, Azure, TSM8US-R546-32A00 Review:

I'm constantly cold. This blanket is very thick and cozy even when it isn't switched on, and since I'm using it to watch television, I also appreciate how warm it feels when it is turned on.I knew what I was getting into with the controller because I had already bought another one for the living room (where there isn't a TV). This controller is ideal if you have trouble with your hands. It can also be turned on with a tap of a sock-footed toe, which is nice if you wish to leave it on the floor facing up. But my cats can also activate it by stepping on it. This was initially a slight issue, but it has since been resolved since it switches off on its own after three hours. They haven't turned on either blanket in months, so they must have figured out not to step on it.I also appreciate how simple it is to wash. You aren't intended to dry it in the dryer, but because it's a great thick blanket, it takes a while to hang dry (you don't have to "prepare" it in any way other than disconnecting it at the blanket end). And while it's drying, I can't actually utilize it. Probably the reason I have two...

Sunbeam Heated Throw Blanket | LoftTec, 3 Heat Settings, Sage - TSL8TS-R660-31A00 Review:

This was ideal for me as I didn't want an electric blanket the size of a full bed. My concerns so far are that it looks shabby rather soon and that there is only one positive side to have up due to the obtrusively large label. If you have animals, their claws will easily grasp the inexpensive cover fabric and tear the threads out of the cloth. Still, the most crucial aspect is that it heats up well. The controller on my model also doesn't resemble the one shown. It is out of line and quite clumsy. The blanket is connected to the controller by a 2 foot cord, and the controller is connected to the plug by a 7 foot cord. Fortunately, I don't use it in a living room for display, and the cord doesn't bother me much where I use it.

Sunbeam TSM8TS-R310-25B00,Garnet Review:

These come in red and blue, and I have two of each. The location of the plug, the length of the cord, or the accessibility of the controls are all fine in my opinion. Although I can feel the cables in both of mine, it isn't a problem at all and they both feel comfortable. Since I purchased them as throws rather than actual blankets, the size is perfect. I wrap it around my legs while sitting at my desk and on the computer, keeping me warm. I used a little heater earlier, but that consumes a lot more electricity. I have one at work as well. Although it is advised against using them with rolling office chairs, I sit on an exercise ball thus there are no issues. They both smell bad immediately out of the packaging, so I washed them both. Use cold water, mild soap, the gentle cycle, etc., air dry without using clothespins after a brief period of low drying. The large (6" x 5") unattractive white instruction tag that is superglued to the blanket is the only item that I truly, really dislike. It has washing directions and cautions and is fairly stiff. I don't need that irritating, scratchy item on my blanket once I've read them. After washing, I gingerly pulled one out, but it lost some of its fluffiness and was on the verge of ripping a hole in the blanket. After washing, the tag doesn't become softer.
