EpicGadget Case for Amazon Fire HD 8" 2018/2017, Auto Sleep/Wake (8th and 7th Generation) Fire HD 8 PU Leather Folding Folio Smart Cover Case For Fire HD 8 Inch 2018/2017 Release (Navy Blue) Review:

I adore this scenario. It is soft, gorgeous, and securely holds my Kindle. The closing, though, is hit or miss. It frequently doesn't close tightly enough to turn off the Kindle when you close it. Until I see the light turn on, I have to keep moving the front. Leaving aside the auto shut off, the side band is a little strange. Pushing that piece of cloth over to access the charging port caused harm to the area where you connect in the charger since it is not aligned properly. In a few months, I'll definitely need to purchase another one, but for the price and quality, this one is decent. Overall, I would repurchase with the expectation that the fit would be better the next time around. The silicone closure Kindle cases are not as good as these ones. They crack so quickly. Even though it's only slightly off, it makes a significant difference.

I couldn't be happier with it and bought this on Prime Day along with a Fire HD 8" tablet.I bought it because I like the design of the cover (I already had one like it for an older Fire HD), and the pricing was reasonable. The case is well-made, perfectly sized for the tablet (all holes line up with the buttons, etc.), and firmly holds it in place. A velcro tab that you tuck under the tablet holds the tablet in place as it fits into the case. The added benefit is that a screen protector and touch screen pen are both included, saving you money. I don't use the pen myself, but others might. For those who are curious, the answer is that when you open or close the cover on this case, the tablet will be awakened or put to sleep. This case, according to a prior reviewer, isn't sturdy enough to support the tablet in landscape orientation. It's FALSE. I have NO PROBLEM holding the tablet upright in either the landscape or portrait position. Don't completely tuck the cover back into the tab at the rear so that it will stand upright when you fold it back. This case is for you if, like me, you don't like to spend a lot of money on tablet cases. At the time I bought it, it was the most affordable case that Prime had to offer, plus they threw in a screen protector and a pen.

I purchased this on Prime Day along with a Fire HD 8" tablet and couldn't be happier with it.I purchased this because I like this style of case (I have a similar case for an older Fire HD) and the price was right. The case is well made, fits the tablet very well (all holes line up with the buttons etc) and holds it securely . The tablet slides into the case and is held in by a velcro tab that you tuck behind the tablet. The bonus is that it includes a screen protector (so you don't have to spend extra) and a touch screen pen. Personally, I don't use the pen but some might. For those that are wondering, yes this case will wake and put the tablet to sleep when you open/close the cover.A previous reviewer stated that this case isn't strong enough to hold the tablet in landscape mode. This is FALSE. I have ZERO problem standing the tablet in landscape or portrait orientation. When you fold the cover back don't tuck it all the way in the tab in the back and it will stand perfectly. If you're like me and don't like to spend a lot on a tablet case then this is the case for you. It was the least expensive case offered through Prime at the time I purchased it plus they throw in a screen protector and a pen.
