If you're looking for earplugs, the only decision you have to make is whether you want them on a string or not.I've used hundreds, possibly thousands, of earplugs during my life. everything, from pricey reusable "audiophile" earplugs to rough, yellow nerf cylinders. The short version is that you should buy these. And don't be deceived by the imitations from CVS or Walgreens; especially at this pricing (cheaper than the knockoffs), you want the genuine Howard Leight brand. They are not constructed from the same materials.These earplugs have a really plush, crinkly/squishy quality that only this particular brand seems to nail. It doesn't cause deafness and doesn't impair your capacity to hear across the entire spectrum, which is crucial for musicians as well as for those who just need to hear and comprehend their coworkers in a noisy setting.These, if you're a musician, make loud volume sound like loud muffled bass and nothing else, rather than making loud volume sound like the same material at club loudness. Although different ear plugs block different frequencies/pitches, not simply decibels, these bell-shaped ones perform best when used for the normal purpose of protecting your ears from excessive noise. Finding the ones that are most effective for the sounds you want to block requires some trial and error. These are definitely worth trying, not only because the quality control appears to be acceptable (I haven't yet had a chance to give them a true complete trial), but also because the vendor provides excellent customer service and shows that they value their clients. DO wait for them to expand with some patience. Grab your ear at the top and pull it slightly upward and backward. Roll the plug's centre and tip until they are narrower. Insert the plug and hold it there while pulling your ear slightly up and back to straighten the ear canal. If these provide the noise-blocking you require, they will do so comfortably and you will be buying from a business that treats you with respect right away. A win-win situation!

These just recently arrived, so I bought a pair for me and a couple for my son, who is 17 years old. With these, I discovered that my ride was much more pleasurable and peaceful, and I will now wear them, along with my helmet speakers, whenever I ride, not only when I ride two up or with other people. The neighborhood could hear me coming in the past when I routed the music to the bike's four external speakers when I rode alone, but now they will only hear me humming along as I go.I've used earplugs in plastic cases before, but they get heated and flex or distort when they're in your pocket or on the bike, making it difficult to close and seal. If you want to muffle a lot of sound, these are fantastic. They are cheap, simple to get in, stay in, and are rather comfy. I wear them while I use loud power equipment and while I sleep. (I avoid using them when listening to loud music since they obstruct too many upper frequencies. For that, I have additional, unique earplugs. However, using them is undoubtedly preferable to harming your ears.)They were put up against Super Sleep Comfort Foam Ear Plugs and Flents Quiet Time Ear Plugs in my comparison. I came to the conclusion that I probably didn't need to buy the other plugs. Super Sleep seems the same to me as Quiet Time for a larger price, and the Quiet Time plugs are too long. To compare Quiet Time and Super Sleep on your own if you're using them to fall asleep, though, in case you find a different level of comfort with them. Sleep is crucial. (With either kind, I frequently awaken with a minor discomfort in my ears, but I still think it's useful.)However, I'm pretty sure it requires you can really get the longer plug all the way into your ear, which would probably be uncomfortable for most people. Quiet Time boasts a better Noise Reduction Rating (33dB instead of 29dB). The noise reduction will be around the same if you decide to leave the excess length poking out of your ear, as most people undoubtedly would.(Remember that noise reduction ratings are only rough estimates. The actual reduction in noise is affected by a number of factors, including the sound frequencies, how well you insert the earplugs, and the shape of the ear canal. At best, ratings are ordinary; at worst, they are marketing.)

My boyfriend snores. Loud. The bedroom has wood floors, and we have dogs. You can hear dogs moving around if they do. Fantastic in the dead of night. Every year plug imaginable has been tested by me. I still hear things. On a whim, I gave these a try, and holy cow! Nothing can be heard. Nothing. The fan, the dogs, or my boyfriend's snoring are all silent. However, because I have my alarm set quite high, I can hear it. Even so, it's not high. It's fortunate for me that I don't sleep well. They are really simple for me to use. You simply make them more pliable with your fingers. I follow the advice they give you not to, and it works fantastically for me. I essentially shove it down with my thumb after placing it in my ear. I'm done now. When it's time to remove it, you just pull it out immediately because it doesn't go into my ear canal. Others might find it problematic, but I don't. The only issue I have is that because of my very long hair, the wax frequently catches on it. Simply pull it out to remove the waxy particles from your hair. I wear my hair up to address the majority of the issue. I've been using the same pair for a long, so they are reusable. I throw them away when they grow gross. If your ears are smaller, you can use half of one and it will still function well. It is smaller in your ear canal, so use caution. Other than that, if I could, I would give it more than five stars. Amazing.

Slim Fit (purple), Dream Girls (pink), Snore Blockers (green), Original (aqua), and Ultra Soft are seen in the photographs going left to right (brown). I am sharing a picture of the package for mine because I have heard other reviews claiming that Mack's has changed the size of the Ultra Soft. Even though they are not a particularly eye-catching hue, the Ultra Soft earplugs are my favorite since they effectively block noise, compress well for easy insertion, and don't feel obtrusive after they have expanded. I will also utilize The Originals because they are a close second (slightly shorter and more slim than the Ultra Soft). Despite being tiny, I found the Slim Fit to be difficult to put in my ears and that they didn't block out enough noise. The Dream Girls were quite comfortable, but they rarely stayed up all night (and I sometimes worried they would get shoved down too far to get out). The Snore Blockers effectively block the most noise, but I can't use them for extended periods of time since they press too firmly against my ear canal. Other brands of earplugs have made my ears itch and irritate, so I can't comment to the durability of the Macks brand because I only wear them once. Wish I could claim that in my search for the ideal plug, I was given a discount, but I really bought them all at full price on Amazon and just chose to write a review comparing them because I found it difficult to tell them apart from the product descriptions.

Though I was generally satisfied with Flents Quiet Time Ear Plugs and wasn't sure about Flents contoured earplugs, I made the decision to take a chance on them. Since I've previously sold containers of earplugs that didn't function 49 out of 50 times on our beloved auction website, the curved design of the new ones looked to be worth the risk.But with Flents Quiet Contour Ear Plugs, there is no longer a need to carefully shape earplugs several times to get them in the ideal position. Instead, I simply roll them between my fingers so the inner part is narrow and the flared outer part is folded outward, slide them into the canal far enough to get the bulge inside, and then lightly hold it in place for about five seconds while the bulge expands. The earplugs in my ears are long enough to be comfortable to remove but not long enough to stick out and rub against my sheets or pillow. In my case, at least part of the bulge gets past the narrow part of the canals in both ears, blocking out all noise except the sounds I need to hear while keeping the earplug from coming out on its own.Even though I always manage to put my earplugs in correctly the first time, the Contour plugs continue to function properly for up to five or six days! Granted, after the first three days or so, the foam expands a little, so I have to push them in a little, but there is no longer any angry jamming of things in so far that my ears pain by morning.If they come in two or three sizes, I believe this design could fit a wider spectrum of users than straight or tapered earplugs, but perhaps I'm just lucky. If so, I wish you the best of luck in your search for a pair of earplugs!The external portion of our ears is practically as unique as our fingerprints, thus there is no such thing as an earplug that fits everyone. THIS IS WHERE THE CAVEATS COME IN. When we move our jaws, the cartilage that makes up the outer portion of the ear canal changes shape and grows and changes throughout time. Therefore, unless you're extremely fortunate, you'll need to try a lot of earplugs until you locate one that works well. As a starting point, I do suggest Flents Quiet Comfort earplugs, but you might just need to experiment with various types and brands before finding the ones that work best for you.Furthermore, the length and width of your ear canals cannot be determined by your gender, height, build, or size of your outer ear. My outer ears are little and close to my skull, and I'm a girl who stands at 5'2", yet slender earplugs made for women are too short and narrow for me.

I made the decision to test these soft, slim-fit earplugs, and I'm so glad I did!These earplugs are slim fit, thus I can use them in my ears for 8 to 10 hours without experiencing any discomfort. It took some practice to put them in my ears properly. I discovered that it works best to roll them really tightly, put them in your ear, and then use your palm to move the top of your ear back and forth until it fully stretches.I've used these earplugs to block out noises such as snoring boyfriends in a queen bed, chatty hotel neighbors, chatty roommates in the hallway and kitchen, dogs pacing and barreling down the hall, garbage trucks and cars outside, birds chirping at five in the morning, anxious parents frantically cleaning the house at seven in the morning before Thanksgiving guests arrive, airplanes taking off, and vacuums in order to get some much-needed sleep.However, these earplugs won't be able to block out doorbells, barking dogs in your flat, fire alarms (which is good), phone alarms and calls (if your phone is nearby), or fire alarms.As long as I'm a light sleeper, I'll unquestionably keep purchasing these earplugs! These earplugs are the best I've ever discovered for little ears. Even the B005YUW7A2 Mack's slim-fit ones hurt for me after a short while. I had given all hope of ever discovering comfy earplugs. I saw a few reviews that indicated they were comfortable but didn't block sound, but for me, these do. They are really effective in obstructing sound in my opinion. The fan in my bedroom or any of our roosters crowing outside (which frequently wakes me up even with a fan and/or a noise machine going) cannot be heard with these in, even though I have good hearing. Your results may vary because when my husband tried them on for fun (he wears the standard Mack's Ultra Soft Foam Earplugs), they didn't really block out much noise.I used to purchase the Earplanes for Kids to give you an idea of the size of my ear canals, but I never used them while sleeping because they protruded past my ear and became uncomfortable with time. If this describes you, I believe these will be quite effective for you.

I have PTSD and am extremely sensitive to sound, which makes simple activities like going to the grocery store difficult for me. I've purchased at least a dozen various styles of earplugs, ranging from the straightforward foam variety to the silicone moldable variety (similar to silly putty) to Earplane ear plugs. Most are only comfortable to wear for an hour or less. Some block out too much noise, others not enough, and some are in between. These earplugs are without a doubt the BEST I have ever bought. The most significant feature is that they are pleasant. They are discrete (not hot pink), simple to enter and remove, and easy to clean. To attach, they have three different sized points. This is ideal for me because I need a smaller size for one ear than the other. They resemble earphones in fit, but they are far more comfortable. They don't even bother my ears at all, and I can wear them for hours. They effectively block out background noise while allowing me to hear well enough to avoid being startled by someone stepping up alongside me without my having first seen them. Although I'm not sure how to measure the difference, I would say that everything sounds half as loud (both for background noise, and when people are speaking to you). I can easily take these earplugs out a little to hear someone speaking to me or push them in further for further noise reduction. I am so grateful for these earplugs since they have allowed me to feel comfortable being in public settings without being overpowered by background noise. I found it simple to lose the small plastic storage container that they came with.
