Door knockers may be out of style in some areas, but they are still a popular choice for many homeowners. They add an extra level of security to your home and can be used to notify people that you are home.

While most door knockers are made of brass, you can also find them made of other metals, such as bronze, iron, and even steel. While you can technically put a door knocker on a steel door, it is not recommended. The reason for this is that steel doors are often much thicker than other types of

This door knocker is quite lovely and strong, and it improves the look of our entrance. The bottom of the door has a lifetime polished brass kickplate, which I also installed. On the exterior doors of the new homes I've moved into twice, the builder installed regular brass finish doorknobs, and I had to replace them all within a year or two due to tarnishing that could not be removed. 13 years after I replaced them with Baldwin's "lifetime" polished brass knobs, they still appear brand new. They've never required polishing. Since I know it will last as long as I do, I'm also confident in this knocker. The additional cost is justified by the lifetime finish. The one thing that annoys me is that every time someone enters and closes the door, the knocker produces a loud clanking noise, but maybe everyone does that. This is the first door knocker I've ever had. The fact that almost everyone uses the doorbell instead is interesting, but I still bought it for aesthetic reasons.

Great door knocker to enhance your Gothic decor

I was concerned that because the pricing was reasonable, this knocker would be inferior or inexpensive. When it arrived, I was overjoyed since it was incredibly solid and weighty, just how a knocker should be. The size of the knocking ring is excellent since it makes it simple for individuals to really grab onto and use. Visitors will use it because of the distinctive design. It came in a box with foam that was tightly molded to fit the goods and wasn't loose or jiggly. However, you can paint using enamel or even certain outdoor concrete paints to achieve this lovely darkest grey/black tone.

I installed this after purchasing it as a present for my parents. The installation was simple, but you should be aware that the included bolts must be cut with a hacksaw to fit your door because they are rather long (so they may be used with doors of different thicknesses).

Great decorative accent for your front door

This knocker is essentially a replica of the gift-purchased knocker I needed to replace on my door. The assembly features standoffs that you can use as supports to insert into your door's drill holes. In order to avoid having to redrill holes, I had hoped this one would have the precise form factor. However, as luck would have it, the holes on my old knocker were 1/8" farther apart. I was able to create the ideal fit for this knocker by just sealing one of the holes and drilling a new one directly above it. The new knocker is expertly crafted, looks fantastic, and functions flawlessly. It has a really sturdy feel about it, and I have no doubt that it will outlast the one it replaced, which had been corroded after 20 years of exposure to the elements.

is what was promised. I chose not to attach it to the door with the two included screws since I did not want to see them on the inside of the door. The peep hole can hold in place more than securely.
When choosing a door knocker, there are a few things to consider. The first is the material. Door knockers are typically made from brass, bronze, or iron. Each of these materials has its own benefits and drawbacks. For example, brass is a softer metal and therefore may show wear more easily. Bronze is a bit more durable, but is also more expensive. Iron is the most durable option, but is also the heaviest. The second thing to consider is the design. Door knockers come in a variety of designs, from simple to ornate. Consider the overall
