There is no one definitive answer to this question. Some people prefer door handles because they are easier to grip, while others prefer door knobs for their aesthetic appeal. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide which type of door hardware is best for them.
While polished brass door knobs may not be as popular as they once were, they are certainly not outdated. In fact, many people believe that polished brass door knobs add a touch of elegance and class to a home. If you are looking for a way to add a little bit of personality to your home, then polished brass door knobs may be the way to go.
It's not necessary for door knobs and light fixtures to match, but it can be a nice touch if they do. If you're going for a coordinated look, consider choosing hardware in the same metal finish.

This kit includes two sets of keys—four silver main keys and two bronze "alternates"—as well as rekeying instructions and a Kwikset rekeying tool, which is simply a short flat metal rod. If you already have something stiff and roughly the same size and shape, you don't specifically need this tool.As a result of some poor planning, I no longer had any keys that fit my lock, so I purchased this product with the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to rekey it as quickly as the instructions suggested. I was able to rekey without the original key, though, in about 30 minutes (and that includes taking the entire lock assembly apart first! ), using a couple simple youtube tutorials. It's extremely doable, especially for those who aren't inclined toward DIY projects. This is wonderful since, even if you have the original key, if you don't follow the rekey instructions precisely, you could find yourself in the same predicament as I did. Does that imply the highest level of security? Oh, I doubt it. But this isn't a review of the lock; it's just a review of these tools, which are excellent:).The silver keys all fit the lock perfectly and operate without a hitch. As long as you *follow the instructions exactly*, using the rekey tool to rekey the lock to the bronze and back to the silver is quite simple. Seriously, avoid getting a lock that doesn't match any of the keys—while it is a fixable problem, it is far more annoying than simply reading the thing in the first place.

I used to be a Schlage doorknob. This Kwikset appeals to me much more. You know it's locked when you lock it because you can't unlock it from the inside. You can also close it while it is locked, saving you from having to use your key to lock it when you already have your hands full from leaving for work. You have to unlock the door to open it before you leave, so there is little risk of locking yourself out. Make sure your keys are with you at all times. Additionally, this knob does include two tiny spikes designed to grab onto a wooden door and hold it securely. Since they can't grab into a steel door, of course, it appears that the knob is only slightly offset from the door on each side. It is barely perceptible and doesn't seem to have any impact on the knob. When you install it, the only person who will notice is you. Since my door is already concealed by a storm door, I am unconcerned by this door knob's "unnecessary" feature.Second Update It appears that the problems I mentioned in my initial update below were caused by a bad door knob. A replacement that I ordered didn't have these problems. I'm therefore re-adding one star. If I hadn't had to go through that trouble due to having a faulty knob in the first place, I would have given it five stars.First Update: Due to the following two negatives, I deducted two stars. The first drawback relates to assembly. The first step in the instruction is to twist the knobs apart. Although it appears to work, this doesn't. Whether or not that twist works for you, after you separate the knobs, some clip and spring will fly out. Don't lose them IF, or rather WHEN, they fly out; the spring goes back in first, followed by the black plastic clip. I hope this relieves someone of that small nightmare.PS Do not turn the knob; just the component that is attached to the door.It sticks and won't turn, which is the second drawback. Even when I'm sometimes unlocked, the door can't be opened from either side. It's occurred a couple times now, and I've only had the knob a week. causes you to feel confined. It must be moved around multiple times before it releases and opens. Weird!

In February 2017, I purchased three sets of them. I reasoned that I should wait until I had used them for a few months before submitting a review. When they came, two of the packages already contained the identical key. Reading the instructions for the third lock set took longer than actually rekeying the lock. After being used every day for the previous three months, so far, all the locks are functioning flawlessly. Students enter and exit through one door all day long since it serves as the entrance to an art studio. The only drawback I can identify is that I frequently had to retighten the screws holding the knobs to the door after installation and a few weeks of use. I had to repeat this process on two doors, but for the other two, just a single retightening was required. I'm not sure what was going on with that. Since then, there have been no further problems.

A door knob, that is. There isn't a lock on it. It twists when you hold one of the knobs and turn your hand! The latch then retracts, allowing you to open the door. This door knob is for you if you ever need one, such as to prevent angsty teenagers from locking you out of their room because you simply don't understand them or for forgetful/early-onset dementia parents who you are suddenly caring for and manage to lock the bathroom door as they exit (resulting in wonderful 4am panic-fueled rushes to find a screwdriver to remove the door knob so you can go potty),

slowly modernizing our 1952-built house. We renovated our bathroom, and to go with our new fixtures, we bought this knob. When Hubby installed this Copper Creek knob on the door after figuring out how to remove the original (yes, 1952!) knob, WOW! The door now truly closes instead of needing to be pushed shut in order for the latch to engage, and the product is beautifully made, incredibly gorgeous to look at, easy to install, and amazing to use. We ordered another privacy lock and 4 similar passage locks to replace all the bedroom knobs, the closet door, and the stairs door because it is such a beautiful, high-quality product. I heartily endorse this product.Update 6/27/18: I received my extra locks, all of which are excellent quality and look fantastic. To replace the old hinges on the doors, I also bought 18 packs of Cosmas Satin Nickel Door Hinge 3.5" Inch x 3.5" Inch with Square Corners. They precisely matched the Copper Creek door knobs and lined up with the previous screw holes. If you're updating your home, I'd highly recommend both products.

The most affordable lock I have yet to find, this door knob lock accomplishes the job wonderfully. When I initially saw the knob's pricing, I assumed it wouldn't accomplish anything. However, after installing the knob, I understood there was no reason for concern. You should absolutely purchase this entry lock if, like me, you have curious relatives or simply want to feel secure about the belongings in your room. I'll be more detailed about the positives and negatives:Advantages: The door knob has two keys and may be re-keyed.The Door Knob features two black sleeves so that you will know where to join the two sides of the knob when you install it on a door. The door knob is sent to you in the mail in good condition and with the brand's emblem. In my opinion and understanding, the door knob is ubiquitous and can suit practically all door styles. When the Door is shut, it slides smoothly into the latch.Cons: Although the knob's instructions are comprehensive, they can be challenging to understand. After installation, the doorknob may appear small to certain people. After installation, the door may initially resist your attempts to unlock it with the key. but eventually disappears.I'd give this entry knob five stars and would absolutely buy it again.
There are a few things to consider when choosing a door knob. First, decide what material you want the knob to be made out of. Common materials include brass, bronze, and nickel. Second, think about the style of the knob. Do you want it to be traditional or modern? Lastly, consider the budget you have for the door knob. Once you've considered all of these factors, you'll be able to choose the perfect door knob for your needs!
There's no right or wrong answer when it comes to mixing and matching knobs and pulls in a kitchen, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, consider the overall style of your kitchen. If it's a modern space, you'll want to stick to clean, simple lines. If it's a more traditional space, you can mix and match different styles of hardware. Just make sure they complement each other. Another thing to think about is the finish of your hardware. You want all of the pieces to match in terms of finish, so if you're
There are many different factors to consider when choosing a lockset for your home, and two of the most popular brands are Kwikset and Schlage. Both brands offer a variety of styles and finishes to choose from, and they both have a reputation for quality. So, which is better? It really depends on your personal preferences. If you want a wider selection of styles and finishes, Kwikset may be the better choice. If you prioritize security, Schlage may be a better option. Ultimately, the best lockset for your home is the one that meets
There is a difference between interior and exterior door knobs. Interior door knobs are usually smaller and don't have as much detail as exterior door knobs. Exterior door knobs are designed to be more durable and weather resistant.
There's no rule that says all the doorknobs in your house have to match, but there are certain benefits to having a cohesive look throughout the space. For one, it can make your home look more put together and polished. Plus, if you're ever in the market to sell, potential buyers will be more likely to appreciate a home with a streamlined aesthetic. If you do decide to mix and match your doorknobs, just be sure to choose complementary finishes and styles.
