Mom had no idea that these kinds of bells existed online or were of any quality, but this product exactly suited her needs and I have no doubt that she will use it for many years to come.My dad hardly ever anticipates shipments or visitors, but because his office is on the first level of the house, he frequently deals with mom's online deliveries.Naturally, dad is the one to sift and carry mom the packages because mom frequently doesn't hear the bell from her upper apartment. My mom's understandable concerns when I recently stated that she may purchase an external bell were: Won't the battery run out in a month? How loud is it?I demonstrated to her how previous customers have used the bell for a year or more without experiencing any problems. In terms of volume, it turned out to be rather loud! You know what my mom didn't anticipate, though? the mute switch! She then changed the volume to one that was more comfortable. However, she can adjust the volume to her liking if she plans to be busy in the kitchen. On the size of the speaker, there is just one button.really practicalWe chose to begin with the tape approach until dad has time to screw in the new bell, but I attached the things needed for the screw-in installation. The installation procedure was quite simple. Of course, the speaker just plugs into the outlet. I didn't even need to look at the instruction manual for this; it's incredibly straightforward and easy.We consequently have a contented mother who is aware of when her packages are left at the door.Additionally, we have a contented dad who no longer has to wake up to the bell when he sleeps in or call mom each time she receives a delivery. All of it at a really low cost.Excellent experience with the transaction!

After my wife had brain surgery, I took on the role of carer. I desired a call button like those used by nurses. My doorbell rang while I was conducting a Google search. I realized at that point that I required a second transmitter for my wireless doorbell. I recently bought the Cooqiya system and am extremely happy with it. For the front entrance, I use West Minster Chimes, and for the back door, I use a Rooster Crow. I reasoned that I could attach the transmitter to her hospital bed rail if I had a third transmitter with a different tone.As a result, I bought a second, identical system in the hopes that they would all function as a single unit. If not, it would still function; I would just have two distinct systems.Fortunately, they did cooperate, and I am currently using three transmitters with all six receivers (distributed around the house). I can now exercise in the garage, the basement, or the upstairs while I sleep. The technology says it has a range of 1,000 feet. Living close to the church in a parsonage, I am a pastor. It turns out that the signal travels through about five walls and 150 yards to my workplace. AWESOME

I just bought the Ring Chime and the Ring Floodlight. They were simple to set up and just took a few minutes to get my new Note 8 phone to display 1080p video. The installation is fairly simple, and changing out the lights is very simple if you already have a floodlight. The chime unit is loud, and all you have to do to set the wifi and sound it will play is plug it in and follow the short online instructions. The only drawback I've discovered is that you can't control the videos from your computer. You can even log in to your Ring floodlights on any computer. There is a tiny delay because you can only view what has already been activated and recorded, but you can still operate the floodlight system using your smartphone, of course. I ADORE this system and intend to get the Ring doorbell as soon as I have the cash. Thank you, Ring.

As a replacement for a broken "Melody" electronic door chime, which occasionally produced static and noise from its speaker, I bought this. After installing this chime, I noticed that it made a loud buzzing noise all the time and that the doorbell switch did absolutely nothing to activate it. I was prepared to return this chime because of the unfavorable reviews it has received. However, I decided to carry on troubleshooting. The doorbell button (switch), transformer, chime, and wire make up the entire system. I then verified the transformer's voltage, which was really 18 volts AC when it should have been 16 volts AC. I'm not sure if that will be an issue in the long run, but I believe it might be within the transformer's tolerances (and chime). So, after doing further research, I discovered that lighted doorbell switches permit some electricity to travel through and that if they malfunction and permit too much current to pass through, the chime would not work properly. By taking off the doorbell switch and then putting the two wires together to make the sound, I put my idea to the test. When that happened, I just took the lightbulb and diode out of the doorbell switch, leaving it as a plain, non-lit "usually open" push button. Issue is resolved. When the doorbell button is pressed, the chime sounds perfectly with a "ding dong" sound.

The original NuTone chime in our 1972 house needed to be updated, but we didn't do it for any particular purpose other that the cover had aged and looked shabby. This one appears to be a clone of the NuTone because its internal workings are almost identical. It is fairly similar to our original NuTone, which has been around for about 50 years, save from minor wire routing and somewhat changed mounting hole positions. I suppose some things can't be improved upon or don't need to be.The sound clearly differs, which is noticeable. Since the chime "bars" are noticeably smaller than those of the original Nutone, the sound is diminished and does not reverberate as loudly around the home. This chime clearly sounds less expensive, in our opinion. If the mounting holes weren't just a little bit different, I would have switched the bars around, but I didn't want to both machine a few iron bars for a door chime.

Functions like it should. I upgraded the 16V/10A transformer and 22-year-old NuTone so I could install the Ring Pro doorbell.Since it requires for 20 gauge wire MINIMUM, I connected 3 wires into 1 for each connection since the home builder had utilized 6X24 gauge wire!Ring now reads 4280 mv, but the manual specifies 3900 mv as the minimum, and the new transformer's no-load voltage is 20.3 VAC.It seems that a range of 18 to 22 is ideal for old transformers, and that anything below no-load 18 VAC indicates that it has to be replaced.in particular while installing a video doorbell. The chime unit required touch-up painting because it was smaller than the old one and, as others have noticed, it is not as loud as some older units.but has a useful, pleasant ding-dong. I think some of the issues mentioned by others might be the consequence of poor wiring, a malfunctioning push button, or an underperforming transformer. I'll get a 16V/15amp transformer as my next transformer to add a little extra power. IMHO

WATCH MY VIDEO TO SEE ME EXPLAIN HOW THE CHIME WORKS IN A 3-BEDROOM, 1900-square-foot Split-Level Home. This doorbell kit was just put in on a 1900 square foot, split-level house (the layout where you access the 3 bedrooms by walking up 5-6 steps just inside the kitchen, and the basement stairs door is right next to the bedroom stairwell in the kitchen.)The chime is situated at the top of the staircase leading from the kitchen to the bedroom. This spot is out of the way in the middle of the house. The doorbell's chime can really be pressed several times at once, and it will play through the ring cycle however many times you initially pressed the button. The chime could be tested by repeatedly pressing it, followed by a fast stroll through each room of the home to make sure the chime was audible. The chime was audible during this test in every room on the main and upper levels. Although not nearly as loudly as in other parts of the house, I could still hear the chime in the basement. When I performed my demo, the house was absolutely devoid of any furniture. So I would anticipate that as you factor in television and other noises, it would become a little bit harder to hear. You also need to think about how the house is laid out. My doorbell chime was placed in the middle of the house, therefore the distance from the furthest point inside the house was never greater than 25 feet. Place the chime in the center of the building. The unit may not be loud enough for you to hear in every room of your home, however, if it is larger than 2000 square feet.BUT for anyone with a home under 2000 square feet with a pretty open floor plan, this one is a no-brainer because to the low cost and ease of installation. If you plan to mount the doorbell to the wood of the house's exterior, make sure to drill tiny pilot holes first. I say this because the mounting screws that come with the doorbell are tiny, and setting and driving those little screws into really hard wood will make you rip your hair out.

Right after the doorbell rang, I heard a "humming/buzzing" noise coming from my doorbell chime mechanism. It appeared as though the outside doorbell button was pressed all the way in. I removed the plastic white cover from the doorbell chime mechanism, snapped a photo of the cabling, and then discovered this replacement on Amazon that is essentially identical.Three wires can fit in total: a transformer wire in the middle, a front doorbell wire, and a rear doorbell wire (for people with doorbells at their back door). Since I only have a front doorbell, I only needed two wires (a transformer wire and a wire going to the front doorbell screw-down post). The entire task only takes 8 minutes.Let me also mention that, according to YouTube do-it-yourselfers, a "humming/buzzing" sound may indicate a defective outdoor doorbell button. Before fully installing the mechanism I had just purchased from Amazon to troubleshoot that problem, I connected the cables to see if the new unit hummed as the old one had, and it turns out that it was humming as well. After that, I stepped outside to inspect the doorbell button after unscrewing it. I removed the little inside circuit board that had been secured by the identical screws that had been used to place it and found no issues. After putting everything back together, I went back inside to swap out the doorbell chime mechanism with the "newly acquired" one, just to rule out the possibility that the doorbell button was the source of the issue. Additionally, I saw on YouTube that either of the doorbell button's wires may be screwed to either post, so I switched them to see if that would make a difference. The buzzing stopped, but I was now only hearing the "ding" portion of the doorbell sound rather than the whole "ding-dong" sound. After removing the old unit and installing the brand-new chime mechanism, everything worked as it should have! It performed flawlessly. If I genuinely have a broken button, only time will tell.It can be worthwhile to start with buying a doorbell button before investing in a new mechanism because they can be obtained for incredibly low prices at your neighborhood hardware store (make sure that it is the EXACT same style button as the one you have, i.e. surface mount or recessed). You can return it and then purchase this doorbell chime mechanism if it does not resolve your issue. It was simple to swap it out, and the YouTube tutorials warned me not to worry about turning off my electricity because these machines operate at extremely low voltage, which I also discovered to be accurate.Good fortune!
