For years, I used this on my Great Pyrenees and Border Collies. Then I felt I needed more of a tangle/mat shampoo after adopting a Golden Doodle. She would stink or simply have an outdoor stench after a few days, despite my attempts with multiple shampooing. I had to use deodorant almost every day, so I bought sprays for between uses. I repurchased this once I completed those bottles. Wow! How different it affects her. She still has a clean, fresh scent after 4 days. She also has a silky, lustrous coat with exquisite curls. I won't ever change again. I initially believed it to be only her and that no aroma would cling to her. My Pyr and BC's coat and scent were both disappearing. But the shampoo IS the issue. It's fantastic.On the negative side, it did arrive with the lid and top popped off, leaking roughly 1/8th of the contents of the bottle and the plastic they were wrapped in. The Manufacturer should seal the top, but Amazon should perform a better job of sealing it as well. It's not all Amazon's problem. Therefore, they have half the blame. I'll attempt to locate this one in the shops. Chain pet stores do sell this. Unfortunately, purchasing from Amazon offers a better bargain, but not if you lose some of it.Love! Don't alter it ever.

I am a veterinarian who is currently enjoying a much-needed break. Due to spring and summertime interaction with grasses and weeds, a friend's dog experienced skin inflammation. Before writing a review, I wanted to really utilize this product for a while. Since it has been roughly a month, we decided it was time. I'll just start by saying that I LOVE this product and HIGHLY suggest it before I lose your attention in this review, which may become too lengthy for some.Our pug has been suffering from what we initially believed to be seasonal allergies for years, and I'm actually sad and furious to even say that. He had had therapy at the veterinarian's clinic several times a year. Combinations of antibiotics, steroids, allergy medications, lotions, eye drops/creams, shampoos, etc. would be used as part of the treatment. They were all very pricey, too! He would frequently get crust in his chin, folds, and around his face. His eyes would occasionally go partially closed as a result of the wrinkles surrounding his eyes being so irritated! And he repeatedly licked and chewed at this one black spot on his front right leg and paw. It would just be constant licking and gnawing, day and night! My husband and I were roused from a deep slumber! Additionally, he had that pervasive "Frito" odor that some claim pugs have. Of course, he was also shaking his head and had wax in his ears. Before they offered him an Oti Pack treatment last year, we had been treating his ears with a specific vet wash and medication for years. This finally seemed to solve the ongoing issue.The veterinarian switched his diet to a prescription brand for his weight about 1.5 years ago. Without a doubt, the best shampoo available for allergic dogs! My American pit bull is incredibly allergic to nearly everything. He literally digs, scratches, and eats his feet constantly to the point where he will actually cause himself to bleed, and the doctor is convinced he is even allergic to grass (I'm not paying over $300 to find out). With the help of veterinarian-recommended medications, I've been battling severe dandruff with my 13-year-old chihuahua for a few years. The dog had stopped wanting me to pet or hold her, which I felt was due to her arthritis and chronic neck disc degeneration (managed with daily painkillers and muscle relaxants), as well as the fact that she was an old dog. I have a corgi and a lab. In comparison to the corgi, my lab sheds less. Every 8 to 12 weeks, he receives a Furminator. My young daughter is every 4-6. At my place of employment at the PetSmart grooming salon, I first encountered Furminator. At the salon, we use it in a different way than I can at home. To begin, we blast out the loose coat with a velocity dryer before shampooing. I don't own a dryer with velocity. I merely brush before using shampoo because (they are pricey). I really lather the shampoo. When you rinse the hair, you want it to squeak. Important is the Furminator conditioner. The undercoat is actually released by it. Mostly, the shampoo is used to get the coat ready. Work the conditioner into the hair after rinsing with shampoo. Pay attention to the hairiest regions. Most commonly, the neck, shoulders, and haunches. Just thoroughly saturate the coat with it. Then you must give it time to sit. At least five minutes, but I prefer to give my small corgi with long hair ten. I take this time to brush my teeth and wash my face with a tearless soap. If your dog doesn't have long hair, you may also rub the conditioner in with a Kong Zoom Groom rubber curry brush. Most importantly, make sure all of the product is out (using the zoom groom to scrub long hair will result in tangles). If any are left behind, your pet can become agitated. When your pet is completely dry, I advise using the Furminator de-shedding tool, an undercoat rake, or coat King/rakke, as well as the Zoom Groom for short-haired dogs. You should exercise caution when using the Furminator tool. Never scrub the same area more than three times. It could cause brush burn on your pet or hurt the coat. Any instrument for de-shedding has the same effect. Although they might be overdone, they are helpful for shedding. I adore this item and wholeheartedly endorse it. Due to the presence of omega 3 fatty acids, it is not only beneficial for shedding but also naturally moisturizing. Excellent for dogs with dry skin. Hope this is useful!

In order to prevent drying out the skin, border collies should only be cleaned once every six months or so. However, as you can guess, this was challenging because BCs have a long top coat and mane, and let's face it, all dogs become smelly and covered in gobs of god knows what quite frequently! But now that I have this, the issue is resolved, therefore I think it WAS difficult! It helps her coat appear freshly washed and has a nice scent! I can get at least 5-7 full body "washes" with my medium-sized dog (she's a BIT small for a BC, about 45 lbs) before I run out, making this bottle a lot less expensive than what I'd spend at the groomer, which she HATES! It's very simple, and after two full-body uses, I'm just barely a quarter of the way done. She even performs exactly the same way after this as she does after a bath, rolling around on the carpet in an effort to restore her "scent," which is hilarious. Sorry, canine! She still smells fantastic even though I last applied it a few days ago! BLESS GOD FOR THIS GOOD.Get this if your breed, like mine, doesn't benefit from routine bathing or if your dog experiences severe anxiety in the water and you'd like to spare him/her from as many as you can. She has a soft, silky coat that she partly inherited, but also got from this. Her coat has undoubtedly become glossier. A little goes a long way and it comes out as a light foam. Given that my dog weighs only 4.5 pounds and only needs a small amount of soap to suds him up, this shampoo will last me forever. I don't mind that the shampoo doesn't really have much of a scent. I dislike anything with a strong scent, including pesticides on my dog. The item lathers up nicely and is simple to rinse out. The dog has a clean, fresh scent.
