I finally broke down and bought this spray after growing tired of the constant influx of fleas that my two dogs bring in throughout the Summer. The cats stopped scratching, and my one cat, who had bite bumps all over her and had fleas attracted to her (as some people seem to attract mosquitoes), stopped scratching. Now, weeks later, she has a longer coat, and her bumps are completely gone. Fleas don't live very long once they get inside, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Will purchase this product once again. It's not an unpleasant smell, and it dissipates rapidly. Don't forget to spray cat houses, cat trees, and other similar items, and give the spray time to dry. For our flea problem, we pretty much tried EVERYTHING, but this was the only solution that worked.In the late summer, our German Shepherd introduced fleas into our house. When I was scratching her one day and saw a bite on her leg, I finally realized the poor thing had fleas. Two fleas were visible on her stomach when I turned her over to examine her body. I informed my husband, and after talking about it, we agreed to attempt to repair the house using what we had. It wasn't THAT horrible, after all. We don't need to do much to get rid of them since I only found maybe ten on her, am I right? WRONG!We cleaned every crack and crevice in the house with a solution of 91% rubbing alcohol and a few drops of dish soap. Every day, I used a flea comb to thoroughly vacuum the house and comb out our dog. On her, we applied oils of eucalyptus, lemongrass, and cedarwood. In all honesty, none of those things worked at all, making them all STUPID ideas. In fact, it seems to make matters worse!When the "natural" cures didn't work, we bought bed bug and flea carpet powder. The woman who worked at our neighborhood hardware shop suggested the bed bug spray for flea issues. Despite using proper ventilation and masks, we had to suffer this HORRIBLE bed bug spray that made our eyes wet, had us sneeze uncontrollably, and generally gave us the impression that we had severe allergies. Although it was terrible, we were adamant that we would get rid of them.I was impatiently anticipating the mail delivery of the Virbac. My husband and I created a game plan as we waited. First, we would apply nematodes—yes, nematodes—to the yard. To kill over 200 different species of soil-dwelling and wood-boring insects, we used 30 million live beneficial nematodes (Hb Sc Sf). After that, we would visit the doctor to purchase a six-month supply of flea medication for our dog. I gave her an incredibly thorough bath after that. I scrubbed her with my fingernails for at least 45 minutes in the bathroom, covering every square inch of her body. I only used water and Dawn dish soap. I washed her from neck to tail for a very long time. To stop any fleas from trying to get to her dry head, I wrapped a "necklace" of dish soap around her neck. I then used the flea comb to thoroughly clean her head. I took a LONG time in the water and was VERY careful to get every last one of those annoying fleas. When she was done, I dried her off and used a flea comb to go over every inch of her coat.After I was certain she was flea-free, we thoroughly vacuumed the entire house. I've been administering this to my dog and ferret for a while. The eggs and existing fleas have also been killed in addition to repelling the fleas. It much surpassed what I had anticipated. Since using this medication, I haven't experienced any flea problems despite living in a high-flea neighbourhood. It was more convenient for me to purchase this particular product for both of my animals rather than having to purchase two separate flea products after conducting a google search that revealed it was safe for my ferret as well. On my two animals, I anticipate that this bottle will last at least a year. I'll keep using this product and advocate it to my loved ones.

Despite not having a severe infestation in my home, my kittens had suffered enough and it was time to try everything. My flea infestation gradually spiraled out of control. I was having a very difficult time getting the problem under control because my wife, a naturopathic physician, would not allow me to spray any pesticides in the house. My answer was to buy a bottle of Vet's Best and fill my Wagner paint sprayer with the entire contents. I then put on a respirator and sprayed every potential flea hiding place in the house. To spray the entire bottle, it took me only about five minutes. Without the dust mask, the air was basically not breathe. There was a mist of peppermint and cloves throughout the entire house. I then shut the windows and left for a few hours. The flea infestation was eradicated after I treated my dog and cat separately. For about a day, the house smelled like herbal tea, but it vanished remarkably rapidly.

Okay, so 2017 was a terrible year for ticks in the Northeast; often, this is accompanied by even worse flea and mosquito infestations. We experienced a fairly mild winter and a ton of rain. So in the early spring, I was able to pick up several ticks simply by strolling across my lawn to the trash can for around 50 feet each time. Without even counting how many I caught, I managed to get a total of six trapped in me. I bought this thing out of rage and sprayed it over the yard. The first thing is the beautiful smell, which prompts neighbors strolling their dogs to inquire about it. My dog and cat both appeared to like it and played around on the grass, so perhaps I did too. I did this a total of twice and saw zero ticks the remainder of the spring, summer, and fall (I'm not sure if this was good or bad from the perspective of pet safety). Despite living close to a lake, the mosquitoes were not as bad this year as they were in the previous six years. I can't really comment on flea control because pets are treated for fleas with Advantix II for dogs and Advantage for cats. Anyone who believes this will help after they have a flea infestation, however, is barking up the wrong tree. 90% of the fleas in your home are eggs, and the flea life cycle lasts around 3/4 weeks. Raid flea killer plus carpet and room works incredibly well to kill everything that is not on your dogs after you have them. If necessary, I applied it to my sofas, my carpeting, and my hardwood floors. In my opinion, superior to a fogger, which gets on everything. Vacuuming frequently also helps a lot. It's up to you how you want to get rid of them from your pet. I prefer Advantix II to Frontline, and once an infestation is under control, it stays that way if you use it monthly. You will experience a new flea infestation if you try to push it past a month. Additionally, Advantix II can be lethal to cats if you have both dogs and cats. Advantix II for dogs should be avoided if your cats and dogs enjoy spooning instead, try something different. Also, be careful not to confuse the two; always give your cat the benefit of the doubt.

We have a home in southeast Massachusetts, which is one of the deer tick capitals, as well as a dog. The county government is in favor of continuing to monitor the local tick population.
