There are many of these kits available, particularly on Amazon, but I decided to take a risk on this one, and it did not let me down. You could assemble this for a bit less money using parts from your neighborhood hardware shop (old work electric box, face plates, etc.), but this kit has several benefits.- The power problem was the key factor in my decision to use a kit. This system effectively provides a very manageable in-wall extension cord. The male end is simply fastened with a panel and screws, while the female end is connected to one grommet. You would need to obtain a loose extension cord or an extended power cable for the TV, which is an additional wire that needs to be run through that opening, in order to provide a-la-carte alternatives. The fact that the entire cord is included in this package and no bare-wire connections are required makes it nicer still. Even an extension cord is provided to connect the bottom grommet to the power supply. Power issue fixed! How many cables can you fit through those grommets was my other worry. They replied four when I inquired, but I was able to smuggle in four HDMI cables, a large RCA wire, and a smaller audio cable, all of which were CL2 or CL3 graded. They all seemed to fit fairly well. When you remove the face cover, there is actually some additional space even though it doesn't appear to be much (need to in order to get at the screws that secure to the wall). The face plate will somewhat corral the cable bodies, and the additional space will allow you to pass the cable ends through the grommet. Therefore, before you attach the face plate, make sure you pass all of the cables through the grommet.-This kit looks fantastic hanging on the wall! Once fitted, it has a very sleek and contemporary appearance. The faceplates you might purchase at the hardware store are superior by a wide margin.-It was also rather simple to install; the drywall saw drill attachment created a lovely hole that properly fits the grommets, and the grommets screw into place securely in a single turn.Without a doubt, the kit is really full and attractive overall.

worked flawlessly using CAT6 keystones from Cable Matters. The keystone jacks mentioned above and my outlet covers in the room were both the ideal shade of white.Because these keystone wall plates are smaller than regular receptacle plates, drywall cutbacks around the gang boxes cannot be as shoddy.

The size of this wall plate was ideal for my house. Coax was pre-wired in every room of my newly constructed home, but the contractor neglected to actually terminate or crimp the connections. Instead, they decided to conceal the wall boxes with plain wall plate covers. I needed this right away after crimping the RG6 coax. The F-connector appears to be durable and is the ideal size and price.

Normally, installations would run much more smoothly. The directions were humorous and very simple to understand.Nothing ever goes as planned because my house is a 120-year-old farm house. Even something as modest and unremarkable throws you a curveball.I hit wood lathe behind the drywall with the hole saw when I tried to drill my hole. Unexpected was the lathe. The hole saw couldn't cut all the way through because it wasn't deep or sharp enough. I used my hulk-like strength to smash through it.I cut open my skull on the arm of my television's wall mount as I turned to take the following step. Wear a hard hat, complete this step prior to installing your television, and perhaps be careful of your surroundings. I'm a dumb girl.Blood was streaming down my face as I attempted to drill the second hole, and this time I was prepared to use the lathe. As I attempted to drill hole number two, the flipping hole saw snapped. Right where it entered my drill, the drill bit snapped off. I guess I angled it a little. I'm almost there, screw it! I drove that SOB bit through my drill and continued. The tiny winged chingada insects must now be inserted through the wall. My drywall is concealing its dirty little lathe secret, however. The wings braces behind the lathe need to be sprung. The wings could be unthreaded a little, and I was able to get them to fit right behind the lathe before I tightened everything up. It wouldn't have worked if the wall had been just a tiny bit thicker or the screw just a tiny bit shorter. After I had sealed everything up, I found that my HDMI cable was now 3" too short, despite my repeated measurements. Life was fantastic after a fast order to prime now for a 6' cable. So, for myself, this was a fun little project.I work in the mechanical pipe trades and consider myself to be rather handy. Nothing was too difficult for your typical handyman to handle. One suggestion would be to join the anchor wings to the wall sleeve using a longer screw or a machine screw. This would enable different wall thicknesses.Additionally, I'd advise you to possibly maintain an extra hole saw or arbor on hand. This project was incredibly fun for me, and the outcomes are as anticipated.

For connecting AV to my flat-screen wall-mounted TV, this worked well. Because I could open a larger hole to view what was happening in the wall, I preferred the 3-gang over a 2. I used a three gang to install my TV above a direct vent fireplace, ensuring that I was secured to a stud and more than two feet away from the fire place in all directions. Overall, it was really successful. I was able to maneuver far better than a 2-gang would have allowed me to by getting my arm against the wall.People may not be aware, but you should use a mounting bracket with these, I believe, for those who were discussing how to hang this to the wall. These are designed to cover a low voltage mounting plate or a 3-gang box. If you don't have one, I went out and bought one for you; it easily affixed to the drywall and you don't have to worry about pulling it out. It is intended to be installed like a light switch, NOT directly into drywall, which is why it comes with the "flat screws like a light switch," as one reviewer described it.Vanco LV3 PVC Low Voltage Mount Brackets are available if you need one (Triple)If you need more visuals, I also shared a few.The main drawback is that a sizable hole in the wall is created as a result. Make sure a large draft situation is avoided. I stopped the draft by adding a little cotton insulation (I wouldn't use fiberglass because it's exposed). If you're concerned, blow out a lit match just in front of the plate; if the smoke rises straight up, you're all right.

Okay, they truly deserve a 5-star rating, but some 3 prong plugs cannot fit in the cutout. Oh, and make sure you put the plug through the sections correctly; otherwise, you'll have to take them all off and either flip or reorder the order before installation. You'll have to fully disassemble it and cram the plug through to get it on.

My electric panel now contains a Sense energy monitoring device, which comes with an antenna that must be mounted externally. Since the electric panel is integrated into a finished wall, the knockouts that are recommended in the Sense manual for fixing the antenna are also behind the wall. I therefore made the decision to mount the Sense outside the panel. To accomplish this, I removed the electrical panel's cover, removed a knockout, drilled a hole through the adjacent stud, cut a small hole in the drywall on the other side of the stud, and installed a plastic outlet box in the drywall. Next, I ran the wires from the electrical panel's interior through the knockout, through the stud, through the outlet box, and out to the Sense, which comes with a wall-mounted holder.I purchased this brush wall plate to dress up the installation because the lack of a cover on the outlet box made the outcome look unfinished. This wall plate appears to be a high-quality item and is composed of thick plastic. It consists of two pieces: the outer face plate and the inner mounting bracket, which are both attached to the mounting holes on the outlet box. The installation only took a minute, and I'm pleased with the outcome.

There are a lot of wires that terminate behind my TV, so I needed something strong, practical, and aesthetically pleasing to make the connections. The fact that this device is recessed allows you to place furniture closer to the wall without risking damage to the speaker terminals is something I like. The three main ports can also be changed out to be anything you desire because they are decora. Even if the power outlet is supposed to be there, you can place something else there. The device is well-built and has a reliable system for keeping it attached to the wall. I've worn it and taken it off numerous times without experiencing any issues. To prevent damaging the drywall if I tightened the screws too much during the initial installation, I attached a piece of lath to the top and bottom of the interior hole. This results in an extremely sturdy installation. The brush insert was the only item I kept from the guts. I added a keystone plate and changed the two screw-back speaker plates with ones that had extra terminals and banana jacks on the back (instead of having an outlet). Additionally, I changed the inserts' silver screws with white ones.I've been pleased thus far with my device, despite the fact that I've just really utilized the shell. It is stylishly supporting a lot of hardware.

These connections are sturdy and well-machined. In the event that your amplifier and speakers have banana plug connector/posts, use these before attempting to connect the speaker cable to the speakers. I had a colored (red/black) plug in the bana plug on my rear channels (Polk dipole surround speakers), and it pulled out. My front left and right floor standing Polk speakers and my Denon receiver both support the banana plug, so after measuring the wire lengths and screwing on these connectors, putting everything in was a breeze. However, my center channel does not. Flipping the plug polarity over was simple because I only had one wire that was backward, and it was discovered when I was performing the Audyssey sound testing. The key to using these connectors is to push the cable in from the end and fan it out at the other end, which will cause it to be pinched when the two sections are screwed together. The quickest method I've found to accomplish this is to unscrew the connectors so you can see completely through the hole. Then, lightly twist the speaker cable and thread it so it goes through the end easily. When it comes out at the hole, use another plug end to push the cable partially out of the side of the hole. Finally, screw the connectors back together, pinching the cable strands. Following the first two, it's quick and simple.Good connections, no sound distortion, and simple construction and management. I wish I'd done it all those years ago.Don't forget to purchase enough cable for both ends, and you might need even more if you have speaker cable patch panels.

For the sole purpose of renovating my basement, I didn't want to have to learn how to cut and terminate network cable (which involves me running two Cat7 RJ45-terminated network cables and one coax cable). This wall plate saved me the trouble because all I had to do was plug or screw the cables into it from the back, and it was then ready to accept connections from the front. It will work with the Cat6 keystone jacks on this plate since the Cat7 cable I have is terminated with RJ45 connectors (yeah, I know I won't get the full benefit of Cat7 but that's a different issue; I got Cat7 cables because they're better protected, not really for speed). In general, I advise anyone who doesn't want to mess with terminating network wire oneself to use these types of wall plates.
