These surpass expectations in every way. With a 13-year-old diabetic cat weighing 12 pounds, we used these during our two-day, 14-hour relocation from NC to MS. She had no trouble utilizing this size in our car's travel tube. Since she didn't "miss," medium worked. The size is ideal for a single use because our cat dislikes having damp paws. These have significantly streamlined life with cats! We have to scoop at least twice a day because there is only room for two boxes and we have three cats. I was so tired of liners that were constantly leaking, getting holes, and having waste and dirty litter get caught in the folds, creating a mess and an unpleasant smell. I'm not sure why, but these disposable cartons come with free liners. We don't use liners, so when the boxes start to smell, I simply bag the entire thing and toss it in the trash. Since they decompose, I can do so without feeling bad. We no longer notice any stench at all thanks to the box's substance, but I could never totally get rid of it using normal boxes and liners. Each box holds up for three to four weeks before I feel the need to throw it away, and even then, there is never, ever any soak-through or leaking.

*Update* After using these for five months, I still adore them. No scooping, just quick and simple use. Even my scooper has disappeared. I put out 1 box for a week and have 2 cats (9 lbs and 14 lbs). Simply because my cats prefer to dig endlessly, I do add more litter than is recommended. The boxes don't fold closed as intended even when there isn't much clutter, but it's no major deal because I just throw them in a rubbish bag. I've never had a leak, a bust, or any other problems. And I think it's worth $4/week to get rid of the mess and scooping. It would only fold closed 95% of the way because I put twice as much litter in the box than was advised (there is a line in the box), but it wasn't necessary. The routine emptying, washing, and refilling of the litter boxes, which should be done at least once a month, is one of my least favorite aspects of having cats. It can take up a significant amount of my time because I have three litter boxes.I was concerned that a disposable box might be too thin or that urine would seep through, but these do not have such problems. One of my cats actually urinates into the corner of the box while perched on the edge with all four paws. The edge has never cracked or bent with his entire weight, nor have I ever noticed any soakage.I simply throw everything into a garbage bag and will replace the litter when it needs to be changed. No more straining to dump the trash or rinsing them out in the tub while holding my breath.I did want to point out that the walls aren't particularly high, even with the Jumbo boxes. I put this inside a big cardboard box and cut a side so the cats could step in because one of my cats is a litter flinger. In this manner, the trash is thrown into the cardboard box rather than into my carpets.

I simply don't do the kitty litter scooping since I detest doing it. I've used automatic litter boxes, and while they work great, they are pricey and tend to malfunction after six months to a year. I have also employed self-sifting and side-tilting filters. The sifter continues to clog or the rolling ones break down, which is still a problem. These are disposable, which is fantastic because I do nothing. I don't have to play in poop or sneeze due to the stench of pee coming from a small box that has been neglected for too long. I simply fold it and discard it. To give it a lid, I first tried using two boxes, but the dogs kept popping the top one off, so I gave up. I came to the conclusion that I didn't need the lid because the base one's sides are high enough. I intend to use these indefinitely.
