I spent a lot of time researching thermal printers online, and I'm very glad I bought this printer. After reading the innumerable horror stories, I decided against purchasing the Dymo label printer, choosing instead a more secure alternative to the "mainstream printer." (Swept the bullet away) ** I think I made one of the best purchases of the year with this one. The printer is quite simple to use and is not at all difficult. Everything prints out clearly and crisply, including the words and barcodes. (Adjust printing density and speed to your preferred levels.) You will notice minor pixelation in typefaces and lettering that are small. However, I've just had this fantastic printer for about a week, so there may be a remedy (I haven't found one yet).I just have a few seconds as a small business owner to alter or adjust printer settings, and this printer makes it very easy. Make sure to read the setup manual and spend time learning the button's operations and the meanings of the various flashing lights. However, you could also study a little bit on your own (like I did) and read up as you go.Less than 30 minutes were spent on setup. Prior to perfecting the procedure, be ready to go through and damage the first 10–15 labels. Simply put, "zeroing it in" is the name of the game.I appreciate how quickly I can change paper sizes. To adjust the printer's two sliders so that the paper you wish to use fits, simply make them larger or smaller. The paper is then inserted, the lid is closed, and a scan is done so the printer can determine the size. * Make sure your printer preferences or settings are set to the appropriate paper size before you click "Print" on your computer.—— EDIT ————- 3 December 2018The printer is still functional and has printed thousands of labels. We use Shipstation to create FBA product labels and shipping labels on a daily basis. Not a single problem at all. As long as you follow the instructions, integration is quite easy and not a problem.Make sure you have a good PDF editing application on hand so you can quickly crop and print labels if necessary, is one thing we've learned. This is done by printing what you choose from a PDF using the snapshot tool, which is perfect for FBA product labels and other things of the like.—— EDIT ————- 4th of March 2019Continually effective. I've used this with both Avery and generic labels, and it functions flawlessly with every single one of them.Even the less expensive labels that have a tendency to curl up when you remove the backing may be properly positioned thanks to the center post's height (press down and twist to make it pop up).Lift the central post.Place the label on the large center post with the sticky side up.Place the CD label side down on the little center post (I generally burn them first because I don't want to waste labels if there is a mistake).I now use the tiny foam O-ring that was included with the stack of CDs and place it atop the CD.At this point, I place the clear disk that sits atop the CD stack on top of the foam ring.Press down, then release as you twist your body by 30 degrees.Your label will be applied evenly and completely without any edge curl or other issues. I use the clear disk and foam ring to ensure that nothing touches the disk's writeable or writable surface when I label it.You will adore this applicator if you are sick of trying to apply labels by hand and wasting them or damaging them since you have to try to pull them off and reposition them. (I just created a few hundred CDs for my church choir and used this to get the labels on a disk before the next one finished burning...GREAT time saver.)

I'm really enjoying this printer so far. There is no "smearing" or fuzziness in the label printing. In the end, I decided to go with this printer over the Dymo 4XL because it was less expensive. For me, having the 4XL over this printer would only be advantageous if it made printing USPS labels of the normal size simpler. But this printer *CAN* also print USPS labels. The labels that would print from this device must be 2-5/16" x 7-1/2" in size for USPS postage labels. You should be able to find straightforward instructions for practically any postage creation platform if you simply google "How to print USPS postage labels in size 2-5/16 x 7-1/2." Additionally, do not worry if you print USPS postage from this device and discover that it is not scanning at the post office. For "USPS postage barcode from Dymo 450 not scanning at post office," a short Google search will bring up blogs with advice on how to modify the print settings (needs to be set specifically at "best" and routing to the Dymo). Hope this is useful to someone!**Note: Due to the absence of an exterior shipping box, I took one star off this product. It came in its original, severely damaged packaging with no additional padding to protect the machine within. Given that Amazon sells and ships this goods, I anticipated much better packing.

use it on a Mac. Despite the site's mention of Mac compatibility, there is no information regarding connecting to an Apple Computer in the manuals or material. The lack of technical help didn't bother me because I work in IT, but it might frustrate others. It would probably be best if there was just a fast start guide for Mac users; otherwise, I would have given this product a perfect five-star rating. I purchased the OfficeSmartLabels 3x2 1" core labels from Amazon, and they work perfectly together. I haven't tried it with a 4x6 mailing label, but it prints our Code 39

We currently use eight of these printers (QL-720NW) to print shipping labels and product labels. Both Windows XP and Windows 7 can print without any issues. However, there are a few things to be mindful of.1) If you print a 3.5-inch label to a printer that only supports 1.1-inch labels, the printer will become inoperable (red power led). Watch your printer settings, then. To reset the printer, all you have to do is touch the power button. Remember that the installed label size is known to the printer.2) Print Barcodes created in rapid mode at 300 dpi may not be readable by "less expensive" readers. Print at 600 dpi if you have a generic barcode reader. Our Metrologic MS1690s are capable of reading anything. However, some of the more affordable "off shore" versions are unable to read a "noisy" barcode.3) Verify that the printer's firmware is up to date. Older firmware versions occasionally experienced issues with gigabit networks. The BRAdmin application makes updating simple.Purchase Brother BRAdmin Professional (free download from brothers site). It works with ALL Brother networkable printers as well as some HP printers and is simpler to use than the "Lite" version that comes with the printer. The BRAdmin program only has to be installed on one PC for setup. Only the printer driver is required for the other devices.5. Avoid installing the Brother "add-on" software; it is awful. Discard the CD. The printer driver is available for download from the internet and is error-free.I had to go through a learning curve to get these running the way we intended, but now they just function. Labels are simple to load, printers are reasonably priced when compared to alternatives, and it's wonderful to have the choice of hardwired ethernet, wifi, Serial, or USB connectivity. The absence of a receipt paper option on these printers is my sole gripe. I have nothing else to complain about.

Excellent: Rhino 4200. In order to reload rifle ammunition, I needed a 1/2 "a label with three lines or more. I paid for the 1/2 "The D1 label cartridge prints flawlessly. The user interface is really straightforward and simple to use. It is simple to store labels in memory, and it keeps track of their size, justification, and rotation. Simply Google "Rhino 4200 Manual" to find a reasonably nice user manual online. With the touch of a button, you may adjust the text's size, rotation, or justification. Additionally, the battery level, rotation, justification, total number of lines, and current line number are all displayed on the screen. Simply pressing enter on the keypad adds lines. A scroll bar is then present to the right of the text line. You can quickly determine the number of lines and the location of each line on the screen based on the size and placement of this scroll bar. The user interface is so sleek that even if it just displays one line at a time, it doesn't matter.The following advice is for this label maker:When printing 1/2, first "Although you have typed lowercase letters, labels that you want to print in 32pt point will only print in uppercase since there is not enough place for the tails of j, p, q, and y to print properly. It has lowercase if you print it in 22 point, and it is plenty big for a 1/2 "label. I believe that 18pt is the ideal size for brief, readable labels. You can select from sizes 50 (19mm/0.75 inches) "32, 22, 18, 12, 12, 8, and 6 point letters are available. Though it is not noticeably shorter, "thin type" is far more difficult to read. A smaller font, in my opinion, is simpler to read.2) The label cartridge asks what size it is when it is inserted. I entered 12mm (1/2) because I'm using metric units "). I was only able to print 6pt characters when I tried to print three lines. Although they were little and left a margin on the top and below, they were legible. I altered the label width to 19mm in the options, and that enabled me to modify the font size to 8pt (and 12, but 12 gets cut off top and bottom). For three lines on half of a page, 8pt font size is ideal "labels. Setting the label width to 19mm and the font size to 6pt will allow you to fit 4 lines without any difficulty on a 1/2 label. (I have a photo of a couple labels that I posted.)3) To get inexpensive removable labels for my ammo boxes, I purchased the 1/2 "The D1 label cartridges print flawlessly. The Rhino labels are a little more pricey and sophisticated than I require.Perhaps the Dymo staff might have improved the unit by enabling three 8-point lines or four 6-point lines on a 1/2-inch line? "however, everything functions properly if you mislead it into believing it has a wider label. Given that it can print more lines on a 1/2-inch label and is by far the greatest label printer in this price range, "label than what the instruction booklet states, I'm awarding it 5 stars. Some of its small flaws can be excused by the features, user interface, and convenience of usage.

Here is a review that was written by a man who successfully completed the installation. Find it and follow his instructions EXACTLY. especially the installation sequence. Do not just let your computer discover and install the drivers, software, etc. Save yourself an hour of frustration by following the guy's instructions precisely.The label-making program in its complete edition is adequate. The program is really outdated and not particularly quick. However, creating a label is quite simple, and as you press print, the label immediately prints! By sharing the printer, I even managed to get both of my office's PCs to communicate with it via the network, and it functions well.Hint: if you use the address labels, you won't need to buy additional labels or swap out your current ones because they fit perfectly on a 1/3-cut file folder. I simply use that size and print all of my file folders and address labels on it.

Purchased primarily for the wireless capability, however both the setup instructions included with the item and those available online from Zebra are poor.Finding the right driver to get it to function correctly and avoid conflicts with other USB devices took an hour and a half, three instals, and two full uninstalls.

A printer was required to print USPS labels for eBay sales. This accomplishes it. It accomplishes it quickly and effectively. Even without installing the printing software, I was able to get it functioning by downloading the Brother driver alone. MS Word makes it simple to locate the appropriate label sizes, and Ebay offers the option to print USPS labels in the larger size label that the printer produces. At this cost, the time saved will more than cover the cost in roughly a month. Since I detest most electronics, I'm always impressed when I find one that works. One of them is this. Furthermore, I chose Brother because I already own a low-cost Brother Wifi Laser Printer that has been using after-market toner for years without experiencing any issues.

This was a work-related purchase made to replace a four times more expensive Intermec printer. It was easy to set up the printer right out of the box. The printer was quickly recognized by CUPS once it was connected to the network. (Our system runs Centos Linux.) Just connect the power cord and network cable. Presto.The fact that further setup was so minimal was also nice. Since the printer is thermal, there is no print ribbon. When printing labels, the printer speed is perfect. With plenty of time to spare, we were able to generate part labels. I also enjoy how the printer seems to have some intelligence in determining where the label's starting point is. Feeding hasn't been an issue for us yet.The printer's quality is also good. You can still read the labels even though the print has been reduced to a 7pt font. Even though you have to strain your eyes to read them, it's still not horrible. With the software we are using, all of the bar codes we printed were readable, and we had no trouble scanning them. Overall, we are quite happy to have a printer like this for about $400.
