I have never owned a cookbook stand. Why didn't I own a cookbook stand before?You've probably practiced holding a cookbook open while keeping the flour from your hands off of it. Have you ever attempted to prop a book up on two cans or another convenient object so you could still read the recipe? Have you ever frantically searched your kitchen for your phone after reading a recipe a fourth or fifth time to make sure you required a teaspoon rather than a tablespoon? Ever try to balance a floppily printed document on a mixing bowl? Maybe I'm just a living, breathing informercial "before," but I certainly struggled with all of those things.Even though it folds up into a slim shape effortlessly and is therefore simple to put away, this item has earned a permanent home on my extremely limited counter space. Anyone sitting or standing at any height will find the range of angles to be ideal. The bamboo is lovely, and the metallic details are understated. The black "hands" work well for holding open books of all sizes, from hefty textbooks to slim magazines. A phone, iPad, book, piece of paper, or anything else can be laid down for reference. Although I've only used it for about a month, it feels well-made and like it will last for many years. Because I'm in love, it's better.

This was purchased as a birthday present for my father, who enjoys reading large hardback histories while attempting to eat. These large, rigid books don't fit well in the tiny plastic book holder my mother has.The item was initially ordered through Amazon and delivered, however it was damaged. Returned the item, however their customer service sent me a beautiful note after they saw my (prior and updated) 2-star rating. They offered to send a replacement right away. The undamaged item meets my requirements well. The construction is sufficiently solid, the materials are good, and the design is straightforward. Nothing showy or flashy; should be simple to fix if screws come loose. It's good because there is only metal and composite board instead of plastic. This will be a great gift or purchase for dads of all ages, cooks, students, readers with hand/arm problems, those who snack frequently, and anybody else who reads a lot but also enjoys using their hands. This is a fantastic concept and item! I had no idea these existed. The walnut makes this one really robust and excellent. When I used mine, it completely covered the length of my thumb. It's meant to end at the first knuckle of the thumb.I called TILISMA, and they responded very away. The new, smaller one is fantastic and easy to use; the older, larger one (M) made my hand a little fatigued and was ineffective anyway.I'm grateful.

The stand appears to be of great quality, but the directions on how to lock and unlock the shelf were not very clear. I honestly spent ten minutes or more trying to figure out how to flip the shelf down because the advertising photographs of the hinges show screws, but the one I received doesn't have any screws.After an hour - 5 stars:After some trial and error, I'm actually relieved that there aren't any screws. This item is AMAZING! It works excellent for reading in bed, which is what I purchased it for, and it also works well for holding up a cookbook or any other book I need to place on a table top in order to read from or consult while working. I'd rate it a 100 out of 100, absolutely excellent! This book rest is the finest thing ever for anyone who prefers to read in bed since it prevents your book from toppling over and keeps the pages open so your hands don't become tired or strained attempting to place your book in a comfortable position. Because of the tiny black metal arms at the bottom that hold the pages open, I can lie on my back in bed without getting a stiff neck from trying to read. I support the reader on a pillow on my tummy while standing up. A clip-on gooseneck lamp I purchased and attached to the side of my book reader is ideal! It's also fantastic for reading on your side; simply turn the reader and book around. Holding a book open with my hands was never comfortable for me. Since I could never get comfortable holding a book for an extended period of time, this book reader is such a game-changer for me that it means the difference between reading at night and not reading at all.

Almost every book, professional, and made holder has been used by me. As an author, I have participated in numerous occasions and gatherings.I adore them. My two sons, who are rough with everything, use them for their phones and tablets as well when they are viewing something and don't want to handle them. They are not only fantastic for books, though they are amazing for that. My books are enormous and weighty. I have one that is 6 x 9 and has about 600 pages, and it holds it with ease. Additionally, it is moveable, allowing you to hold it upright or, if you prefer or require that size instead, unfold it to hold it similar to a plate holder. This is AMAZING. I never switched to a different kind or brand. For the amount, size, quality, and price you pay? It cannot be defeated with a stack of foul books.

I purchased this cookbook stand so that I could use it as an iPad stand and holder. The device is in a leather case, which increases the depth dimension due to the case's thickness. Another stand we ordered had to be returned since it couldn't handle the extra thickness. Our issue was effectively resolved by the Readaeer Reading Rest. It is sturdy, can accommodate a lot of thickness, and can be positioned at various angles, making reading on the tablet secure and comfortable. It also folds flat, is lightweight while still being strong, and is simple to pack for transportation with the device. The only thing that I think should be improved are the little prongs that hold back a cookbook's pages or prevent an iPad from slipping forward. To safeguard the device's screen, I would have preferred rubber or silicon tips for the prongs. Although I don't think they'll scratch it, a softer head on the prongs would be preferable.

The way this book stand levels to meet your needs and preferences is its true appeal. I have used this stand for heavy and light books, as well as technical goods like my tablet, and by no means does it slide thanks to the rubber pads at the bottom. I use my workstation primarily for books and other paper-based materials, but occasionally (both at home and at work) I do use it as a tablet stand, and it works extremely well. Additionally, I have a small lamp that I can use to read at night if I want to. So far, this has been a pretty positive experience for me. It folds up nicely and fits nicely in my bag next to my other heavy stuff when I take it to work. I would think it would last me a very long time because it is made of metal, is durable for what it is used for, and the color does not appear to be rusting off just yet from my use of it.
