In my flat, this was quite efficient! I purchased these immediately away after noticing wetness on the windows and sliding door and realizing that this was a recipe for mold. The fact that the bags fill up with water and appear to be doing something might be a trick on my part. Right, there is always some moisture in the air. However, we use them on the boat and they seem to eliminate the "man" smell from our closets. The biggest difference is the boat. The air doesn't have a musty, damp smell, and it seems cleaner. I purchased this product to prevent moisture buildup in my vacation trailer. In a desperate attempt to salvage my wallpaper, I bought some moth balls, but it didn't seem to be working. I made the decision to stop being stingy and buy this dehumidifier. It has now been operating continuously for a month and has amassed about 2 litres of water. Definitely worth the cost. If the business hadn't been cheap and provided just one filter, the hepa filter was filthy after an hour of operation, indicating that it was performing its job. For this reason, I would have rated it five stars. I would highly advise it for anyone with moisture problems.
