There are pros and cons to both metal and plastic lids. Metal lids are more durable and can be reused multiple times. They are also better at sealing in food and preventing spills. However, they can be more difficult to open and are not microwave-safe. Plastic lids are less expensive and more convenient, but they are not as durable and can’t be reused as many times. Ultimately, the best type of lid depends on your needs and preferences.
Pots are typically measured from the top. This is because the capacity of the pot is determined by the amount of space between the rim and the bottom of the pot.
Corningware can go in the oven with the glass lid, but it is not recommended. The glass lid can break if it is not placed on a towel or other heat-resistant surface.
Yes, the Cuisinel lids can go in the oven. They are made of high-quality silicone that can withstand high temperatures.

Just what I required! I shattered the handle on the lid of my crock pot, just like so many other people here. Really simple installation. For individuals who are unsure of their proper placement, the rubber and metal washers are already attached to the screw's handle in the proper order. But just in case, I'll give you a breakdown! The actual handle is placed outside and on top. With the screw in hand, begin on the underside of the lid. The metal washer is the first component to attach itself to the screw head. The silicone washer is next, protecting the glass as we tighten the screws. Turn the handle on to the screw from the top and insert the screw into the hole. Till it is firmly finger tight, continue. Perfect, strong, and incredible value!

It is an InstantPot lid that the business formally supports. It works great with the InstantPot. Before buying, make sure your size.Although I don't use this often, it is useful to have on hand like any pot lid when I do. Because I'm worried that it would scratch the nonstick pot liner, I haven't used this with it (like many metal things could scratch the nonstick pot liner)My dishwasher has handled this without a problem. It is straightforward but effective.

To use on my antique cast iron skillets, I bought this and another lid that looked similar, the "RSVP Endurance Stainless Steel Universal Lid with Glass Insert, Fits Pans 7"-12"; I figured at least one of them would work. The two lids I received were actually created by the same business and were similar to one another. Therefore, order from this company rather than the other one if you want this lid and want to save $2. This lid claims to fit seven "doesn't fit my smallest skillet, a Griswold #5, but fits other pans. The innermost groove on the lid actually measures 8 according to my ruler measurement ". I believe I'll retain them both as they do fit my larger pans, a Griswold #8 and a Wagner 7A. The standard is only fair (typical for made-in-China). I appreciate that the top of the container has glass so that you can view the food within.

PYREX Red Plastic Cover /Lid fits 6 & 7 cup 7" diameter Round Dishes
Ideal for refrigerator and freezer storage or taking food on the go

Standard lids to swap out the ones I harmed by just setting them on top of the containers in the microwave. They naturally become damaged as the air retained in the bowl cools and contracts, straining the lids, because they expand with the heat and seal themselves to the bowl. Instead of venting the usual lids, Pyrex need to produce and sell glass lids to go with these. I miss the flat, low-profile glass lids on their previous items.

This Pyrex Lid will fit 4-3/4" Diameter Glass Bowls

These were purchased to replace some of the lids of a set of 2 cup Anchor storage containers I already owned. The Anchor lids all cracked and split after regular usage, just like the Pyrex lids had, but I have a set of Pyrex containers with comparable lids, and they have been fine. Because the Anchor glass was still in good condition and getting new lids for $8 was significantly less expensive than getting a new set of containers, I decided to acquire these. These lids not only fit, but they really fit better than the original Anchor lids. They are also highly durable and last a lot longer. These are fantastic, just make sure you order the right size. Strongly advised as a low-cost method to increase the lifespan of less expensive glass containers!

The fact that this is for TWO FULL sets was completely omitted in the listing! When I opened the box, I was excited to see that. The lids are excellent. On every bowl I've tried, they hold and remain (I pretty much own just pyrex). Compared to the pyrex lids, they take up so much less space in storage! They also stretch out beautifully. The only issue with these—and this may be the reason why some people gave them poor ratings—is that if you place them over something damp or likely to produce condensation (nearly any food item), they won't stick again once you remove the lid unless you dry them with a paper towel first. But to me, this is a no-brainer. Because of the same factor, Saran wrap does not restick. When I used it to cover bread dough while it proofed, that's what convinced me to buy these. The air pressure that the yeast creates inside the dough and bowl causes the lid to puff up. However, it didn't remove! I attempted to capture it puffing up on camera. The center smiling face is a sweet finishing touch. It's absurd, yet it makes me grin.

These silicone items are of high quality and are very elastic. Indeed, there is one to fit almost any small- to medium-sized bowl or container in the kitchen. However, you really need to be very careful if you're covering something with liquids because they are so tight (excellent - no spills!). It's challenging for me to cover and uncover the dish or container while maintaining its flatness. Therefore, for food, ideal. Definitely not for liquids. (That is why there are only 4 stars instead of 5)

I have multiple Lodge Cast Iron pans in various sizes, and I have a Lodge glass lid for each of them. When it's crucial for total heating to occur, such as when braising a roast or creating an omelet, all one needs is a lid. Using a lid seals in the heat and improves the cooking performance of the pan. Additionally, because it is constructed of glass, it is possible to observe what is happening inside the pan without lifting the cover. A useful companion for any Dutch oven or pan made of Lodge Cast Iron. Spend a little more money on a fantastic lid to complement the greatest pan you previously purchased.

A pot and I had a love/hate relationship because the original lid was made entirely of metal. Since none of my other glass lids fit, I had to "make due," which meant dealing with exterior drips and other things. It's been like this for a year! like a very long time! (It's an excellent pot.) Finally, I grew tired of having to open the lid in order to see inside, so I went looking and found this one.I can now confidently declare that I cherish my marijuana! The lid fits exactly. The knob is separate and requires screwing on, but it's not a big deal. Despite being quite light, it seems robust enough. It doesn't rock; it sits flat. It doesn't fit tightly, but then then, I don't want it to. There is a tiny side-to-side movement allowance of roughly 1/4 inch. The inside diameter of my pot is depicted in my first image. The lid is completely moved to the other side (my right) in the second side-by-side image on the left. The lid is completely moved to the left in the right image. I think this fits nicely. The inner lip of the lid is measured in the third image, and the inner lip is indicated by red lines because it is a bit difficult to tell from this angle.Added: Using the metal washer and rubber gasket on the underside of the lid, I put the lid and knob together. Rubber gasket is therefore near to the glass. the screw head is followed by a metal washer. The lid has a large metal flange on the outside, followed by a knob. Functions for me!I applied the lid; no issues. I would buy this product once more.

With my buy, I'm pretty happy. My use of plastic wrap to cover my containers will be replaced by these lids. This is quicker than digging out the plastic wrap, cutting it, and then attempting to stick it to my container before it folds in on itself and makes it difficult to get it to open flat to do its function. Ugh! I had to test them when I saw them because of their simple design and bright color. I'll just say I'm glad. When I need to secure the lid to my container or raise it up to remove it, there are tabs that are simple to pull. With soap and water, silicone material is quite simple to clean. On the top of the lid, there is a sweet cheerful face. I appreciate that there are many sizes that I can use on the various dishes and containers I own. And I appreciate that I'm cutting down on waste.
A stainless steel lid can go in the oven, but it won’t do much to help cook or brown your food. It’s best to use a lid when you’re trying to keep heat in, like when you’re simmering a sauce or braising meat. If you need to use a lid in the oven, make sure it’s oven-safe.
Yes, you can put silicone lids in the oven. They are heat-resistant and can be used in the oven up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
No, Lids does not do sizing.
When you are looking at a recipe, it will often give you an indication of what size pan you will need. The size is usually listed as the diameter of the pan, in inches. If you don't have a pan that is the right size, you can always adjust the recipe accordingly. For example, if a recipe calls for a 9-inch pan, but you only have an 8-inch pan, you can simply use less of the ingredients.
To measure a replacement pan lid, you will need to know the diameter of the pan. You can find this measurement by measuring the pan from one side to the other. Once you have the diameter, you can then purchase a lid that is the same diameter.
When measuring the size of a lid, the first step is to measure the diameter of the innermost part of the lid. This can be done with a ruler or a tape measure. Next, measure the height of the lid from the top of the innermost part to the top of the outermost part. Again, a ruler or a tape measure can be used for this. Finally, measure the width of the lid from one side to the other.
