It takes a while for the glue gun to heat up, but once it is, the melted glue flows smoothly. The Chandler Tool Glue Gun's glue deposit stays softer longer and cools down more slowly than my 60W gun when the same amount of glue from each gun is applied to the same kind of surface. I tested this 100W unit against my 60W wireless gun (another manufacturer). They both ultimately left behind the identical product, which had the same surface uniformity. The core of the 60W pistol exhibited a murky deposit, whereas the Chandler Tool's deposit remained clean. That, in my opinion, is because the 60W gun did not heat up the glue as much.The bottom support of the Chandler gun gets in the way when working in confined spaces, and occasionally I was unable to insert the tip into the desired location. The base was contacting the enclosure as I worked on an electronic repair project, preventing me from applying adhesive where I needed it. 90% of the repairs could be completed with the glue gun, but I eventually had to switch to my wireless pistol. Otherwise, it worked fine.The Chandler gun does not drip, which is excellent, in contrast to my wifi gun.The gun's design suggests that the swing-out stand on the Chandler tool's nozzle is unrelated to its intended use. If placing the rifle down on a flat surface is not an option, I suppose it might be used to hang the gun. Since it has no impact on how it functions, this is not a problem.It works nicely with the all-purpose glue sticks, but I haven't tested it with higher temperature or greater sticky glue sticks.Overall, the Chandler glue gun is functional for its $20 price and I suggest it for the majority of tasks.

The product life cannot yet be predicted. Since I won't know till I've used the "Temperature Control" for a month or two, I didn't even rate it yet. It's new to me.I opened it so I could add a power switch. I was born to tinker (I'm an EE).First of all, I was relieved to see that there is an ON light already present (instead of having to add one). Unbelievably, in the era of LEDs, this is a vintage neon tube (NE-2?) with a real ballast resistor, both 110V leads (one with ballast resistor), and meticulously and lovingly wrapped in heat-shrink tubing.The fact that everything is fastened with self-tapping steel screws for plastic was the next item that impressed me. Nothing is "hot welded," so it can be fixed if necessary. Next, the plastic case is HEAVY DUTY, with walls that are all 0.105" (2.7mm) thick throughout (filled ABS or something similar; I'm not a plastics or materials engineer).The main grip-feed lever is connected to the toggle link for the feed mechanism by an enormous clevis and pin that is made of filled nylon or a similar material and is highly strong.With each pair of electrical connections tenderly and carefully connected to the incoming power and insulated with heat shrink, the next four standalone heaters, which surround the center tube/chamber, are secured in place with screws (again). Additionally, high temperature Kapton tape is used to properly wrap all electrical connections to the heaters.Next, high temperature isolation "grommets" separate the HOT nozzle assembly and the back of the hot chamber from the main case.The finger trigger also easily accommodates all four fingers, and the palm grip is a cushioned rubbery material. Much more comfortable than simply pressing bare plastic across my thumb and palm web.The creator of this should be honored. Likewise, whoever was in charge of quality control.I'm overjoyed, would heartily endorse to everyone, and can't believe I got such a good instrument for such a little cost.We'll have to wait and see how it holds up to "weekend warrior" use.I did have an opportunity to take a temperature reading. My unit is 360F to 362F measured immediately at the tip, in the glue "stream," as I squeeze some onto a FLUKE thermocouple, on 3 attempts after letting it warm up for more than an hour. not the 410F that the label said. Although I don't believe this will be relevant to my applications, I was requested to rank the temperature control, so I did.

My friend offered me her 3-watt, that's right, 3-watt, gun so I could glue some pine cones together for a Christmas door wreath. There must be a better option than that, I reasoned. Read the reviews and looked at the Dewalt in HD before moving up the scale to this. Hot glue guns aren't just for crafts, as I always believed. I did observe the cabinet maker at work lining up and attaching drawer fronts with hot glue (Euro Style cabinets). He slid the drawer open and screwed them on when they were straight and the glue had somewhat solidified. That was simpler than my previous method, which involved trying to clamp them. Much quicker. It was simpler than ca glue to glue some returns on molding for window valences. I suppose it holds up just as well as any other adhesive. increased the temperature to make the adhesive more fluid. I'll use this instead of pl2000or liquid nails, which take longer to cure, to adhere some granite backsplashes. When the gun heated up, a blob of approximately 1/4 inch leaked, but that was it. There were no longer any drips after at least an hour. After removing the wire stand, I realized it worked better with it back in place. It takes a few minutes for the heat to reach its peak. Additionally, the case is useful because there is room for additional glue sticks and it won't get destroyed in the back of a vehicle. I enjoy it

Because it tips the tip forward and causes the hot glue to spill out and make a mess on whichever surface you place the gun, it is not much help when you need to pause your work. In order to set the gun as shown in the image, with the tip pointed upward so the glue will not flow out when you need to stop working for a moment, a real stand that the glue gun can be dropped into is required. It would have to be a separate base-type component that could sit on the workbench and receive the handle of the pistol to hold it upright with the tip pointed upward. I don't think it would be something that could be integrated into the gun like the wire "stand" that is attached to the front of the guy. I had to use some of my crap since I had to have something to hold the cannon upright while I positioned the material I was working with. When I needed to put the gun away but prevent glue from dripping out of it, I dropped it into a coffee can that was partially full with random screws, bolts, and small metal odds and ends (you know you have one). It was stabilized

This rifle is beautiful, but it's also big. like a craft pistol that is twice the size. It features an integrated stand, an ineffective nasal version that accomplishes nothing, and no instructions on how to install it. But that's only a small issue.It has a temperature control on the bottom that I set to the highest setting, but I discovered it didn't heat any more quickly. And at the highest setting, it flows onto the table; however, at 350, it doesn't. I appreciate that it includes a thermostat. It indicates that the glue is merely heated to the proper temperature and does not boil like other adhesives.it has two tips included? they're both the same size, too? That eludes me. They appear to be the same to me, therefore I would believe there should be two sizes. The tip is made of metal, but the remainder is made of plastic or possibly ceramic of some sort. However, I still burned myself.I'll have to get used to this switch because it's simple to forget to turn it on or off.It consumes glue. A 4" stick seems to require roughly 1.5" of glue to feed, however I haven't tried one yet. and unlike a craft gun that requires a half-inch of ammunition to reload, "of glue), this accomplishes the task externally. therefore you'll require 10 "sticks.It arrives in a ridiculously big case. I don't know why, but it will probably end up in the garbage because it is almost three times the size of a gun and can hold an entire drill.
