During the holiday promotions, we bought this sold/fulfilled by Amazon, and we've never looked back. Stop wasting time on inferior UPSs or UPSs from companies who won't back up the UPS with their own insurance protection. (At least in most situations; YMMV, homeowner's insurance won't help if you or your equipment sustains electrical loss or damages. Given how much it would cost to replace a decent and/or bespoke system and peripherals, you owe it to yourself to always secure all of your equipment.Our main PC, with an 850-watt EVGA, is carried by this UPS.The APC UPS barely even notices the presence of a power supply, an Asus M/B with 32 GBs of RAM, 4 HDDs, and an EVGA video card, a dual-Corsair liquid CPU cooler over an AMD FX-8350, 8-140mm fans in push-pull-positive pressure vent configuration, a 4K monitor, and a dual USB 3.0 dock, and it practically begs for more. Only 3 electrical "noise occurrences" were reported after two months at 50% capacity and runtime; this wasn't enough to set off the alarm.Turn Power Chute's sensitivity all the way up while configuring the UPS, and don't forget to check it once every month. You absolutely must purchase one of these if you live in a region with storms or AC power problems (under/over voltage or outages). Although we've never gone without a UPS, it's never a good idea to tempt fate. In the event of a lightning strike, we shut down and disconnect the system and have a second UPS for our TV, AV, router, firewall, LAN, and modem. (Wife even uses sewing machines from a different brand of UPS).Not boasting, just stating that from my 30 years of building, repairing, and replacing systems, it's best practice to test your UPS by fully cycling/depleting the on-board lead-acid battery when the UPS shuts everything down automatically, for example at the 5-7% mark, then fully charging the battery again before powering the system up the following day. If you repeat this process every few months, the battery will live longer whether you plan to buy a new unit or merely a new replacement battery every three years. Battery life can last considerably longer than three years, however it varies depending on the system, use, electrical demands, etc. Here, YMMV is the norm.The UPS always has a blank AOC-QC paper test-slip attached to it before it leaves the factory for shipping, but we didn't like it because it was utterly unreadable. UPS requested a picture of it. Guys, that one is obvious. There was nothing discernible, not even in bright light or under magnification. It's a great UPS aside from that. The only other reasonable complaint was that APC needs to improve their website and make it more user-friendly and safe. For my own gear, I also have a Cyberpower 1500 VA unit that is connected to numerous external HDs and other devices.The devices function effectively for the intended use. On a 32, I got roughly 35 minutes "A Dish Satellite receiver/DVE, an LCD TV, a wifi router, a 5-port switch, and an external (sleeping) HD on the DVR. In my wife's Celeron computer with a 22 "I had roughly 45 minutes with my LCD monitor.I live in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico, where there are numerous power outages. In this setting, these units perform well.One of the queries I come across is about turning off the alarms. On my wife's computer and, presumably, the TV/Dish receiver, I did not install the PowerChute software. Through a few push-and-hold operations on the power button, the alarm can be configured to not sound. Although the font is small and challenging to see, the instructions that come with the device explain it more or less clearly.The main problem with this device is that you have to remove the battery in order to attach it before use. When you take it out, be careful because it comes back in via the least obvious path. Due to my positive experience with APC and my desire to preserve the usual high caliber of APC products, I was hesitant to even write a review. It's only fair, though, to relate my experience because everything about it was excellent.This UPS was purchased for a remote network in my home (security cameras and a POE switch). Complete failure when I first got it; it would not even turn on. I hurried up to a store and purchased another one because I wanted it NOW. This problem was not urgent because I also needed a replacement UPS for our phone system; it would merely hasten that replacement until I received the new UPS for this damaged one.I informed APC (Schneider Electric in accordance with the directions included with that awful UPS) using their "chat" feature. Schneider planned a FedEx delivery of a new UPS with less than 8 messages. On the second day, I got the replacement UPS, connected it to the phone system, and everything was well. The 10-year-old APC unit that had been doing us well was replaced with the new UPS.In our house, I have no fewer than 8 APC UPS units. Be it a network, computer, TV, or phone, they are all quietly operating and fulfilling different tasks. I've never had a problem with an APC device before, so I'm hesitant to say anything bad about it. My opinion is that their service is unmatched, and APC (Schneider Electric) will support its products no matter who sells them.
