I wasn't sure how pleased I would be with the Rooba614 after seeing the newer models produced by iRobot and other companies. I gave it a try because I'm a bit of a cheapskate and look at price more often than I should. I purchased this item in "Like New" condition from the Amazon Warehouse sales.Despite the terrible packaging done by "Amazon Warehouse," this resilient little robot showed no signs of wear or damage after being moved around by UPS for two days. However, the product itself is what determines my rating, not the shipping.She cleans effectively for a $250 robot vacuum. For those of us with OCD like myself, this might not be ideal, but if you have faith in it, it will work out. Simply don't watch the vacuum operate because you'll keep attempting to use a "Jedi mind trick" to collect the debris that it keeps haphazardly passing by. Although the brushes do the majority of the work, the suction is comparable to an old dust buster.I live with my three cats, one Labrador, two daughters, and one son. i.e., this thing rarely leaves anything behind despite having seen glitter, mud, and fur. It finds the home charger 95% of the time on its own without assistance and doesn't snag on rug or cord edges. It works well on hard floors, rugs, and carpet.In my situation, the instructions state that the collection bin MUST be emptied after every use. Although this model lacks WiFi and "scheduled" cleaning, I'm more than happy to press the button and leave for the savings!Now, if only iRobot could create a version of this that could climb stairs.

(Revised after the third week of use) After considering it for several weeks and reading reviews, we decided to get Ruby. I'm stingy. I detest making purchases. We are two working adults that live in a wooded location with a German Shepherd and a Pitbull, just to give you a little background information. The German Shepherd sheds as though his skin were on fire all the time and his fur was fleeing for its very existence. I'm referring to some significant weight loss. The pitbull enjoys collecting as much dirt, filth, and other unpleasant things as she can able to bring inside with her. In addition to enjoying the outdoors, my husband and I often dig our own holes. It typically took 2.5 hours to finish the work from beginning to end after the floors began to indicate that they needed a good sweep/mop. The time we both spent attempting to trick or cajole the other into doing the floors for us is not included in this. After all the toil, invariably a dog hair tumbleweed or two would pop out from under a couch to let us know we weren't in charge of this situation.Come on Ruby. Ruby, how I adore you. On a Sunday, I placed my order for Ruby, which was also the day I persuaded my husband to sweep and wash the floors alone. By the time Ruby arrived on Thursday, the house had once more become overrun with dirt and tumbleweeds from Doggie Hair. Ruby was simple to set up, so my husband and I decided to rearrange some areas of our home where we had items stowed on the floor, beneath beds, or wires that were in the way, etc., while Ruby was charging for her first trip. While we were at it, we decided to test her performance by sweeping dirt into the main floor area from the difficult corners. Our single-story, 2400 square foot home has largely hardwood and tile flooring with carpet just in the bedrooms. With the exception of a bath mat in two of the bathrooms, we don't have any rugs. Due to the age and remodeling of our home, there are a few problematic corners.Day one was difficult for Ruby. Oh, God bless her small, inebriated soul. She bobbed and weaved, missed spots, spat things back out, and ultimately perished alone in a bedroom at the back. We ran her one more after charging her. The second time, she performed well, but she once more found herself stranded without power. (I had to empty her dustbin five times that day, and each time, it was completely full. What a shame! We went ahead and made plans for her, thinking that if we weren't satisfied after a week, we could return her and resume squabbling, sweating over the floors, and making up reasons why guests shouldn't come over.I can genuinely say that I'm in love with Ruby now after 6 days. There aren't even a single dog hair tumbleweed on our floors after six full days of us without using a broom (apart from the first day when I swept the dirt from a tricky corner into her path). I run all day barefoot and my feet are quite clean. When someone says they're going to drop by the house, I no longer feel ashamed or anxious. Even the space behind beds and couches is spotless! Worth every penny at $324.73!I'll try to address the questions I really wanted to know the answers to before I made my purchase below.1. She doesn't travel in a straight grid arrangement, no. She will receive what she missed yesterday and today if you run her every day. Give her some time; she really does improve every day. * I observed her work after the first week and saw that she now adheres to a more grid-like arrangement. Although the grid is imperfect, it is clear that she has a plan behind all of her crazy. *2. The wifi capability is helpful for creating a routine, finding her when she periodically gets lost after her battery dies, and, if necessary, starting her away from home. Although I believe we might have survived without this feature, I'm not sorry it exists.3. All of my furniture legs and my white baseboards are in great condition.4. Unless Ruby runs into them, the same canines that are terrified by my upright Kirby and my upright Bissel Shampooer ignore Ruby.5. She has no trouble watching TV or going about her daily activities while running. Due of the loudness, she must be in another area of the house when working from home.6. Yes, when her battery fails, she sometimes has trouble returning home. My husband and I came to the conclusion that we're more than happy to go after her and place her on her base in exchange for not having to scrub our floors by hand. Ruby has now deducted one point for every day but one. I suppose the first week was just for her to become familiar with the floor plan. She always docks herself as of week three.7. She hasn't damaged the original hardwood floors in our home.8. She moves from one type of flooring to another without difficulty, even over the little connecting strips (All of my flooring is light colored)9. Allow her one week. I left her a few goodies the first day while removing items from the floors and from behind mattresses (dog hair that was embedded around the bed posts and other tight areas). She has removed every hair strand that has wrapped itself around furniture legs throughout the entire house, according to my check today (6 days later).10. Cleaning: I had initially intended to obtain a robotic mop soon after getting Ruby. As the weeks passed, I became aware that it would be 3 weeks before the floors required another mop, and, to be honest, I could have gotten away with just a spot mop at that point. We now spend 20 minutes on something that used to take us approximately 20 minutes once a week. Overall, we've switched from spending 2.5 hours per week on average cleaning floors to spending an additional 10-15 minutes per week dumping ruby and occasionally mopping. Many thanks, Ruby!

Am I a total dork because this little guy is sort of fun to watch cruising around, doing it's thing?! I have been very interested in trying a robovac out as we have two cats and wanted to see how it would do picking up the litter they track out of the box. Overall I am pretty pleased with this little unit though it will definitely not replace my regular Dyson vacuum. This robovac did a good job picking up that stray litter and cat hair, as well as other crumbs and such that were on the floor. I did notice when I set it to pick up a pile of litter I had swept up that the rotating brushes basically sprayed the pile all over the place but then did eventually pick most of it up. I do have quite a few transitions from hard-floor surface to carpet and this little guy trundles along without any issues, also tackling most rugs on the floor with ease. The setting I have used most is the edge setting and while it isn't perfect it does a pretty good job of sticking to the outside edges and getting the bits of dust and hair that always seem to collect there. You definitely do have to clean out the dust trap after each sweep through as that container is fairly small but it is fairly easy to remove and empty so not a huge deal. The unit was fairly quiet as well, much less than my Dyson stand-up and little cordless vacuums, so that was a nice bonus. This will largely be used for sweeping through the house every couple of days to pick up the little bits around but I still think I need to use my stand-up Dyson to really get a good deep clean on my carpets. The price of this unit was so reasonable compared to others I wasn't sure about the performance but so far I would say I have been impressed and would suggest giving this unit a try if you have been wanting to try one out and have smaller, crumb-type bits that you are looking to collect.



iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal-Empties Itself, Wi-Fi Connected, Smart Mapping, Works with Alexa, Ideal for Pet Hair, Carpets, Hard Floors, Black Review:


It appears slick at first glance. Nearly ready to use when it is taken out of the box. All I had to do was plug the docking station in. My Android phone successfully installed the app, and it connected to the robot through wifi with no issues. Then I started my cleaning routine, and it started complaining that its bumper was stuck. I repeatedly tried tapping the bumper to unstick as instructed by the assistance documents, but this was ineffective. I then tried putting it back in its dock, and for some reason that worked, and it finished the cleaning process.Then, a few days later, I attempted to run a different cleaning schedule. After finishing it, it returned to its port. However, it began to spin around before docking. Before stopping, turning its status light red, and once more reporting "bumper stuck, tap bumper to unstick," it made around a dozen revolutions. Its bumper was not stuck, but I tried tapping it again to "dislodge debris," and it didn't work either. Unfortunately, manually putting it back in its dock did not make it go away. It complains about its bumper being stuck as soon as it undocks. I figure it must be a problem with one of the switches because the bumper slides freely and I can even hear the tiny click of the contact switches engaging.I've reached out to iRobot, but so far I haven't received a response, turning this $1,000 robot into a mere paperweight. I had heard horrible stories about their robots failing after a few months, but I hadn't anticipated it happening so quickly. Because it works so perfectly when it does, it is exceptionally annoying. That ought to be IRobot's new tagline.Edit 2019-5-21: Following discussions with their customer support and use of some photographs I took with my camera to demonstrate the fault, they gave me a replacement unit that was ready to use right out of the box. Ironically, while having such complex technology, I would end up with one that had a defective bumper switch, which is perhaps the most basic part. The problem was eventually resolved thanks to their excellent customer care.

I'd be the ideal candidate to test one out because I anticipate being unimpressed!Our family immediately named her Hazel, and after several hours of hard work, I have no qualms about keeping her on my payroll. ;-)First things: I am not the best housekeeper. I tend to be a clutterbug, and I am not faithful at daily sweeping and vacuuming. I have 2 children and 2 cats, so lots of dirt accumulates each day. I read the instruction handbook, plugged in home base, and had Hazel charge overnight (she really only needs around 3 hours to a full battery, but I wanted to test her out in the morning after we'd both had a decent night's sleep).In the morning, the kids and I made sure no blankets, toys, or cords were on the floor and pushed Hazel's 'clean' button. Off she went... in a very random, haphazard pattern. I knew this was how she would probably travel, having read other reviews, but it was still odd to me. I relaxed while she puttered around my first floor, about 1200 square feet of mixed hardwood, vinyl, and carpeting.She is not very noisy. Much less than a regular vacuum cleaner for sure! I would say it sounded like a fan on high, which really wasn't bothersome. Hazel really had no trouble around furniture or traveling over transistion strips from flooring to flooring. After about an hour of buzzing around, Hazel docked herself and played a 4-5 note jingle.Even though she seemed to go in such a random fashion, I could tell my floors were clean! There were a few missed spots on her very first go, but by her third time, no area seemed to go unnoticed. Hazel now seems to 'know' my house and is keeping my floors clean! I feel like I can go barefoot with her on the job!!After Hazel ventured under the china cabinet (who knows when that area last saw my broom), my son said, 'Hey! The fuzzies are gone!! I don't know if the two were actually related, but my son paused her and we checked underneath to find a usb charging cord wrapped around her brushes. How simple and easy it is to remove the brushes! We untangled the cord, pressed start, and Hazel happily finished her cycle.Since then, she has only gotten stuck once - in the 'flaps' of the rug that go around the toilet. She beeped at us to let us know, and we quickly unstuck her. There have been a few times we thought she might be stuck under the dining room table in the labyrinth of chair and table legs, but after some bumping and spinning and bumping again, she eventually finds her way out.I could not test the wifi and app feature - as I live in a black hole with no wifi. We have owned a few different Roomba vacuums over the years. Their relatively expensive maintenance requirements, limited capacity for vacuuming trash, and inability to maneuver in spaces where objects were on the floor, particularly extension cables, were their main drawbacks back then. I got this Roomba e5 model because the last one we owned was several years ago and I wanted to check if anything had changed.This vacuum comes wrapped extremely well and safely. Actually, there is nothing to put together. The vacuum is simply placed on the base unit (charger) after being plugged in. Before using the vacuum for the first time, the instruction booklet advises letting it charge for at least three hours. Downloading the iRobot Home app for your smartphone or tablet is also advised since it makes it simple to register your new Roomba, take you through connecting it to your Wi-Fi home network, and customize it as you like. Although the Roomba may function without the app, it does allow you to do things like schedule vacuuming, view battery life, track usage, and other things that are only possible with the app. The app is incredibly simple to use, and I had no trouble connecting the vacuum to my Wi-Fi network.I used the vacuum to clean our master bedroom after setting it up using the iRobot app and completely charging it. We have six indoor cats, so our king-sized bed gets extremely dirty, so I was very curious to see how the vacuum would work. I placed the charging station in the bedroom, locked the door, and used the app to start the vacuum. When I returned to the bedroom after the vacuum had finished cleaning, it was resting on the charging dock recharging itself. Cat hair and debris filled the debris container, which is significantly larger than previous Roombas we have owned. It was quite simple to take it out of the vacuum, empty it, and put it back. The handbook suggests replacing the little air filter, which is easily accessible and located near one end of the bin, every few months. The vacuum's multi-surface brushes are located on the bottom and are simple to reach, remove for cleaning, and replace as required.Consideration is given to battery longevity. Our master bedroom and our spacious master bathroom can be vacuumed in about 90 minutes, according on the battery life of the vacuum. I've had this gadget for about a week.The first impression is excellent: it _does_ collect dust, garbage, and pollen and does not occasionally bump as a crazy.Okay, let's move on to the questions and answers.Does it perform its primary duty, i.e., clean the carpet or floor?It does, indeed. Because I empty its box each day, I believe it is functional.It has very thin filters that capture tiny particles, which I enjoy, and - believe it or not - my child's allergy has much decreased!**Is there noise?Actually, it's not, though. I can speak properly, but I don't enjoy it when I'm reading or sleeping.How much time does the battery last?1.5 to 2 hours. This friend then travels to the charger.And does it discover it?Yes, it does typically.Why just four stars?Because it is incredibly stupid and occasionally gets caught in a chair: aaaargh, 4 hurdles, internal enemy, panic mode, shut down. Seriously though, devs need to work on this use case.Does it clean up nicely? Can you arrange a time for cleaning?I didn't test it by throwing things around, though. However, the traces indicate that it performs fairly well, and there is no junk visible, which is nice. Because it is so simple to use, I merely read the quick start guide and the one page brochure.Is it difficult to clean?The tank, filters, and brush may be cleaned in roughly two minutes. There is also the unique tool.Would you repurchase it?Hard to answer. Without a doubt, it's value for money. I enjoy the outcome. However, if I had the option, I would probably add a little bit (100–200) extra because the market has pretty sophisticated devices for about $1,000. In the end, yeah. I adore this stuff with all my heart.Before making a purchase, I researched extensively, talked to many friends, and read numerous reviews about robot vacuums.It is an incredible value for the money right away. For me, the price was a major lure. It has been charging or operating for the majority of the week we've had it, and we've repeatedly emptied the trash can. My heart has been filled with joy as we dump away each cup of dust because we have nasal allergies in our home. And to begin with, we weren't slobs! The air quality in our home has already improved, which astounded me. It's comparable to the difference between a DIY deep clean and a professional cleaning.Both carpet and hard floors respond well to this vacuum. Surprisingly quiet, too. It can capture dirt, dust, and even popcorn-sized particles. Additionally, it gathered hair and coiled it around the side brushes; removing it was simple. It easily zips underneath beds and other furniture. The way the brushes gathered all of the dirt from the edges and corners also pleased me.Did I mention how thrilled everyone in my family is with it is?I genuinely believe that it is worth far more than the asking price. We could have paid more for some things that this lacks, but those aspects weren't important to us. I'll explain in the interest of complete disclosure. First off, this machine only vacuums; it does not mop. The battery life isn't very lengthy, and the trash is somewhat small. When fully charged, it runs for an hour to an hour and a half and takes approximately 4 hours to charge completely. It stopped before that on our first few runs since the trashcan was overflowing with dust. The promised stop is made at the top of the stairs even though it doesn't do the stairs. The vacuum has no trouble climbing, but it sort of hangs up on the edge of the one area rug that rises little more than an inch above the hardwood floor instead of descending. Additionally, because there is no dock for it to return to, it stops when the power runs out or the cup is full. It follows a random schedule and lacks extras like voice controls or scheduling. We are content with it and none of these problems have been deal-breakers for us.The PureClean has made me quite happy, and I never want to live without it again.

Overview:As I use this device in my home over the coming months, I will be updating this review. For many years, I have owned iRobot products myself. Prior to purchasing the Braava Jet m6, I owned the Braava 380t.My kitchen and great room are roughly 1,200 square feet, and the flooring is all laminate. We spend the most of our time here. dark floors that make everything on them visible. two cat shedders, two. No dividing lines between spaces. Tile or carpet cover the rest of the house.Review of Day 1 for June 16, 2019:The Good: - As with all iRobot devices, setup was simple - Quickly connected to a wifi network and linked with Amazon Echo - Well-made packaging is what you would anticipate for a more expensive product.First mopping job appears to be doing a respectable job as I write this review; it covered about a third of the area in about an hour. It was only around 50% charged when it arrived, therefore it is now back on the dock charging. The provided bottle of wet cleaning solution from the iRobot brand smells good, and the floors seem clean. The auto docking and charging functionality is a huge improvement over the Braava 380t and is well worth the price of admission for current Braava 380t users!- According to what I understand, it will gradually become familiar with the arrangement of our house so that we may choose which rooms to have it clean.
