Now I take my trusty scraper, which literally gets three times more per "scoop" than even my biggest knife ever did. This knife is quite high quality for the price. I hunt pretty much anything that has a hunting season, and having decent knives is crucial for processing your animal. Since I'm in college, I cannot afford a $100 knife. I bought this knife, and it arrived precisely when it was supposed to since I had just about done deboning my deer. I unwrapped the package, cleaned the knife, and then started working on deboning the remaining three quarters. Right out of the box, it cut effortlessly. I didn't have a knife sharpener, but I didn't need one because I could have deboned the entire deer without needing to. It was still somewhat sharp after finishing, clearly not as sharp as it had been since it is a knife and not a magical tool, but for a less expensive option, it retained an edge much better than I had anticipated. Although the blade is rather strong, which I prefer, it is flexible and thin enough toward the tip to easily enter joints and cut ligaments. When cleaning game, your hands can become slick and wet. The handle is really pleasant and textured, which is good. Overall, a very fine knife that I don't anticipate ever needing to replace.

They require a little more work to resharpen, but they can handle a lot of cutting before they need to be sharpened again on a stone.
