I've purchased many of them for use (one to replace another I lost), and I've been pleased with every one of them. They aren't really high security, as others have pointed out: the shackle is a bit thin and the lock itself isn't that big (so it may be cut), and there is also a defect that permits a skilled burglar to determine the combination one number at a time by touch. For this reason, I'm docking a star. However, I have used mine both inside and outside for a number of years, and they have performed admirably, earning them points for durability. Since they won't deceive a determined burglar, use these where you wish to avoid casual theft. However, many locks this size can be broken through anyway, so it all depends on how much risk you think there is. I've used it on the cable lock on my bike, however in other circumstances I'd also use a U-lock for increased security, as well as the door of an interior storage unit in a protected facility that nevertheless needed the use of a lock (I'd consider it low-risk). Although it is simple to create your own combination and is simple to remember, keep in mind the various drawbacks of a lock this size.

So even though I initially though they were both duds, these perform as intended. After discovering from reviews that other people had the same issue, I quickly prepared a video.In order to create my own combination of 7371, I followed the instructions. That did the trick, however when I jumbled the combination, I forgot to lock the door. To prevent passersby from picking standard locks, such as those on lockers, you do this.You must be on your combination—in my instance, 737—push down on the lock before scrambling it to truly lock this lock. I gave the product a lower star rating since it took me so long to realize this. I hope this is useful to someone.

Although there are a lot of bad reviews, I personally haven't had any problems with this lock.Even though I don't use it all that much, it seems to function properly when I do.I appreciate how it seems substantial and how easily the code might have been changed. It's fairly simple (especially if you've previously adjusted other word or number locks).It also offers you a wide variety of word alternatives.I don't see why people complain that they can't spell certain terms. Seriously, a NON-DIGITAL dial lock cannot contain every possible word combination. These locks have terrible breaking points and low durability. You might be wondering why I gave these 5 stars. They are stronger than zip-ties and more difficult to cut off, to start with (ie with scissors or a knife). The cost is ridiculous for two locks. Furthermore, you won't need to worry about misplacing a key because both locks are keyless. The fact that I know from experience from my middle school days that these locks are relatively poor and simple to pick is another reason I gave these 5 stars. Therefore, you do not need to spend $20 or more on a great lock that you are likely to never use if you are in a chemistry class (from middle school to university) and have to have a lock on your cabinet.
