I began taking Severin Silver around 15 years ago, on the advice of my doctor, for a number of factors.- I first used it to lessen the frequency of my weekly herpes outbreaks (Ewww.). I have to extol this specific brand! Okay, so my kid contracted the flu three weeks ago, and after I helped her recover, I too got it. I won't mention the name of the brand, but I was using one with only 10 PPM and was perplexed as to why I wasn't improving. I investigated the product and read the excellent reviews. Colloidal silver is safe in moderation, and taking more won't make it more effective. For a headache caused by a sinus infection, I used this spray; within an hour, the headache was gone, and I felt so much better! I went back and purchased the drops for more usage. Looks like water and tastes exactly like that. During our trip, we regularly added this product to our water bottles (because I had it and we were going to use it). After a while, we simply stopped (no real reason). Looking back, we've come to the conclusion that it had been quite good for two elderly people. We had incredible health, felt great, and had no trouble hiking 8 to 13 miles up mountains in the early morning to see moose. Prior to purchasing this spray colloidal silver, I had previously purchased the same product from the same brand in dropper form, and it was also excellent. However, for my two young children, the spray is much simpler to use, and they are not as afraid of it as they are of me putting numerous drops in their mouth. So I prefer the spray over the drops for the kids' sake. Adults are unaffected by this. Yes, it is safe for young children, however I certainly give them a lower amount. I thus spray everyone's mouth with this when we start experiencing a scratchy throat and any swallowing pain, even if it just affects 1/4 of the household. However, I also take various natural medicines. Some people claim they can get rid of strep throat with this on their own, but I wasn't able to do that when my almost 2-year-old developed strep. It hasn't proven to be strong enough to do the job alone, but it's not a medicine, it's more of an immune booster and helps your throat fight the infection. I had to administer antibiotics, which is a last choice for me, but strep is deadly if left untreated. I did not give him the whole 10 days because he responded well to this treatment and a few other natural cures, and he quickly returned to normal.

I like this gel and I believe it shortens the time that adult hormonal acne takes to heal. I don't have any serious skin conditions, but as an esthetician, clients expect me to have flawless skin (give us a break, we have hormones too!). I use tretinoin, the genetic form of Retin-A, every night, and it works wonders for cell turnover, preventing clogged pores and acne, as well as lines and wrinkles. I'm 33 and have almost nothing. However, you must stop using retinoids for at least a few days before utilizing acids or other acne treatments because otherwise, it might be too much. The sun renders retinoids useless, so I like to wear an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory cream beneath makeup during the day. I had read about colloidal silver and wanted to give it a try. I really feel that using this in addition to or even instead of the vitamin C I typically use has enabled post-inflammatory redness and markings to clear up more quickly. There are many uses for it outside what I originally got it for. My legs have a mild case of keratosis pilaris, which I manage with Amalactin or similar exfoliant and lots of moisture, but you can still get red spots (as anyone with kp "chicken skin" knows). The red dots are essentially gone, and my legs are so clear and evenly toned. Although I've also used it for bruising, I don't think that's one of its strong qualities. It simply can't get through to change things there. However, I think it has reduced redness and swelling in my Dad's ezcema and psoriasis. When applying this to a plaque psoriasis-affected area, make sure you thoroughly clean the area 1-2 times per day. Avoid making yourself bleed, but remember that the product works best when it can penetrate into moist skin because if you apply more and more of it over the lesion, it will harden and scale.Regarding acne, I like to first apply my evening face routine and then, as a final step, dab a little of this over any areas. This may be used in combination with other acne remedies without causing any problems. I don't rub it in and wait the entire night. Morning redness is always less. It will at the very least stop your acne products from drying out your skin and leaving a patch that is flaky and unappealing.This is why there are only 4 stars, not 5. It contains TEA, or triethanolamine (and I'm not referring to the green variety). used as an emulsifier in skin care to assist a product mesh together, such as oil and water. The carbomer will keep the silver ppm and deionized water suspended together for application even if it is not really necessary in this case. As skin's pH ranges from 4.5 to 5.5 and treatments can penetrate and become more effective closer to that range, TEA can also be used as a pH adjustor. I suppose that this is more of its purpose here (though there are many others on the market also). My problem is a result of its parents. There are enough non-toxic ph adjustors available that an alternative might be selected. Ethylene oxide, which is thought to be particularly harmful, is produced by combining ammonia, another known toxin. While TEA has been deemed "safe" for use in skincare products and even to help with the chemical peeling of foods like tomatoes or oranges, the US FDA has done very little to regulate the skincare industry, and other "non-toxic" additives have in the past led to severe allergic reactions, breakouts, and sensitivities.In reality, this chemical has been the subject of many investigations by the US Cosmetic Ingredient Review, with their most recent recommendation for use being that it be "discontinuous" (not continuous), "short use followed by thorough rinsing from the surface of the skin." Although I did not follow this instruction to the letter by leaving it on all night, it did not irritate my skin or trigger a reaction, suggesting that the chemical is present in such little amounts that the majority of people would never have a problem. I did want to leave it as a remark, though. I got into skincare to educate people about the products they were using and how their skin needed to be cared for, therefore I feel the need to address this here. It worked well, and I'm glad I tried it. However, if you're using this on children, especially babies, be aware that it's there and that it definitely cannot be ingested. As a result, do not use it on small children if they will put that area in their mouth. I took a chance and tried it because I frequently do with new products to use myself as the guinea pig or client information. Best wishes!
