This remedy continues to astound me even after two years of use. We haven't noticed any side effects from this, however other homeopathic medications occasionally cause jitters or bizarre dreams.It must be taken as soon as you suspect you are getting sick. In addition to a nasal steroid like Nasocort, which stops the majority of post nasal drip, and a daily antihistamine like cetirizine or loratadine, I needed this mucus-thinning medication because I was keeping my husband up at night snorting and trying to get that thick residual post nasal drainage up or down. It is extremely safe and only thins mucus. It is MUCH less of a problem to me when I take Mucinex twice a day. And the best price I could find anywhere was for 100 tabs to be purchased for around $20. When my patients' allergies flare up and create drainage or when they have a terrible cold and their mucus becomes thick, I always advise them to do so. An additional advantage of Mucinex DM is that it is a secure cough suppressor. We use Oscillo for more than just fever and flu symptoms; thus far, we've found that it works for any infection. The first time I took Oscillo, I studied the reviews first and discovered those that advised taking it every three hours for acute fever/flu rather than three times daily as the box directs (FDA requires they give instructions). YES!! FINALLY!! For my 11-month-old, who has been congested for three days, please. I always have Zi-Cam with me. In my car, by my bed, in my carry-on luggage when flying, etc. After nearly two decades of almost seldom getting sick, I now have two grandchildren who attend daycare, so this is a novel and terrible experience. I have discovered that, however, if I take a zicam as soon as I have even the tiniest tickling in the back of my throat, the faintest cough, or when someone sneezes behind me in a flight, I nearly never become ill. Totally adore this! Although I also like Costco's, you would need to take several pills throughout the day to get the same effect as this one. It makes breathing easier for me and is convenient. Once the cold virus enters your lungs, no amount of Tylenol, Theraflu, etc. will be able to eradicate it like Mucinex. People I've spoken to who claim it doesn't work are lying since you're taking the incorrect strength (600mg vs 1200mg). Nothing but Mucinex helps to clear up my lungs. It's fantastic, isn't it, that I cut it in half for maintenance, making it 600 mg;) saving money makes 42 into 84. I used to purchase the 600 mg, but they are more costly than the 1200 mg. My six-month-old baby, my husband, and I all benefit from this for stuffy noses. This is what we put in our Vics humidifier. This lasts for approximately 3 days when I put around 2 capfuls of it into the humidifier and turn it on high. When the water level drops, I empty everything and refill it. I really wish they went on longer. For only about a day after opening the packet, one may smell. Then it gets even shorter when it's in the humidifier. Which is unfortunate. They pass by so quickly that I don't want to use them all up! The remainder will wait until flu season. These won't, in my opinion, help treat or prevent any illnesses. Perhaps it will relieve some congestion, but that is a stretch. Unquestionably not as effective and potent as Vicks rub on.
