When I opened the package, the item exceeded my expectations; I had imagined it to be a respectable product.The entire unit arrived in excellent condition because each component was packaged separately to prevent dings and scratches. The wood is solid, reportedly hardwood, and has a nicer-looking burled surface than a dull brown finish when viewed up close. It came with assembly instructions, but they were unnecessary after I realized which parts went where: the "trunk" is made up of the remaining pieces, the smallest of which are the coat hooks or branches, the fattest of which is the base, the next-smallest of which are the three legs. Everything screws together very clearly, there are no special tools needed, and assembly is quick and simple.The entire structure seems sturdy and stable. It didn't topple over or sway at all when I placed a single, somewhat hefty coat on it to weigh down that side.The rack is a little shorter than I had imagined; it stands at around 5'10", when I had imagined something about 6-8" taller. Well, if there had been holes for the hanging pegs, one of the two vertical pieces would have been five stars without a doubt. However, this piece was scratchy and rough, as opposed to the other ones, which were all nicely finished and shiny. I believe this component may possibly be the reason why my device does not stand vertically, giving the appearance that it is constantly leaning crazy. Just because of that, I can't enjoy it! Although the edges of the holes that items go into and everything else are a little bit sharpish, the legs included, I felt like I needed to place rubber feet on them for it to stand on my hardwood floor without damaging it. The edges of the clothing hanging pegs, however, are smooth. Overall, it has a good appearance, but it simply cannot stand upright. Considering the price, I still believe it to be worthwhile, but the problems reduced its rating to three stars.Update: Their customer service staff got in touch with me and gave me the option of a partial refund or parts replacement; we ultimately decided to replace the entire unit because I wasn't entirely sure which part was the major problem, but the warehouse later sent me a part in its place. However, I raised it to 4 stars because their customer support truly attempted to help, even if in this situation it didn't resolve my issues because it was the wrong part.

Even with jackets hung on all sides, this worked out really well because it isn't too tall and doesn't have a large footprint.a little challenging to put together. To connect all the legs and hooks, it takes a lot of effort to get the screws to actually tap into the holes, especially with the provided screwdriver. Some of the holes need to be expanded with a lot of hard work. Before beginning assembly, I advise you to enlarge all of the holes with a screw. After that, be ready to put in some extra effort to get the spacers to fit into the holes. I discovered that it took some effort to start the screw going in straight (they often angle and need to be restarted or they don't go in), so possibly someone holding the components straight while another drives the screws would be helpful (I did alone and it just takes patience)The holes were all lined up, the coating was good, and other than driving the screws straight, everything else was in place.Without adding significantly to the assembly's weight, the material looks strong enough.There are currently 8 mid- and light-weight jackets and 3 hats on it.

This coat rack is excellent. I was confused after reading some of the other reviews. Perhaps a different product was shipped with prior orders? There is no part "O," as another reviewer claimed, and the images on other reviews don't seem to represent this one (the one I received looks exactly like the one promised). I will note that some images show a base with rounded legs and what appears to be a single center screw keeping it all together. This base, however, has broader, more oval legs and is very firmly held together at the bottom by four screws. Everything was intact when it was delivered, there was no rust, and everything is thoroughly lacquered and sparkling black. The directions are rather self-explanatory, and they even helpfully indicate which pieces should be assembled in which sequence. There is a huge double-ended screw included specifically for that reason, and the center upright piece does screw in pretty firmly to the bottom upright piece, making it quite sturdy. This is in contrast to a prior reviewer's claim that it simply sits in it. A nicely provided hex wrench is used to tighten the fasteners. The screw holes are small and do require some elbow grease to get the screws tightly seated, but that is a good thing because it means that once the screws are in, they won't come out. Given the reasonable price, I was pleasantly impressed by the size and durability of this coat rack. It took me about 10 minutes to put it together, and it is handling my 10-pound purse, two hats, and five jackets fairly well at the moment. To see if it would wobble or topple, I purposely did not hang the items equally. I'm thrilled with the purchase!

I was hesitant to purchase this because of the unfavorable reviews, but I took a chance. The screws, casings, and poles were all loose in the package upon arrival; they weren't in a bag or anything; they were just strewn about. I immediately removed the goods from the package and counted all the parts to make sure they were accurate; they were not. I was short six silver machine screws, but fortunately, my neighborhood home center had some.The machine screws caught my attention right away, but the poles were black. To give the product a finished appearance, Mind Reader ought to have used black screws.The directions are entirely incorrect. The black casings do not belong on the outside of the stand at all; rather, they go in between the screw and the pole.In other words, when assembling, insert a machine screw into the case, which has a small dent that exactly flushes with the pole but does not extend outside of it. Because of this, some claim that they shattered during assembly.Additionally, you must assemble the stand in reverse order because it is drawn upside down on the design. The feet are the long, curved poles. These instructions look to have been written by someone who was totally inebriated.Everything looks good when put together. Not at all shaky. I have some black spray paint that I will use later to cover the machine screws. For the finished item, see the photo in the attachment.It can easily accommodate hats, scarves, and coats.
