You ought to be able to crank the agitator in one way but not the other while your washer is not in use. These need to be replaced if it turns in both directions.The fact that they come in a 12-pack is also fantastic. These "dogs" will eventually need to be replaced because they are made to wear out. (across several years) You have enough stock for the following two times after the agitator consumes 4 of these. If they were constructed of a more durable material, they might survive longer, but they also ran the risk of damaging the agitator's inside, which would require more money to repair. Everyone has had the unfortunate experience of having something "break" when they least expect it; in our case, the washer stopped pumping water just as we had a ton of washing to do. I manually drained the washer using the lower hose in order to get the water out because it would not drain. When I put my finger inside the "filter trap," which was clean when I opened it, I felt something "moving" inside that didn't seem good. After conducting some online research, I came to the conclusion that the water pump was probably the problem, which confirmed my suspicion. I got one from this site and chose the Askoll brand motor over some of the other brands (s). Since I believe "copies" generally (sorry, stereotype) aren't as high-quality, I felt if LG had a problem, at least I'd have an OEM one, even though I know there are some things where that belief is untrue. Anyway, the motor I ordered arrived as promised. The most difficult aspect of the replacement was putting the door "gasket" BACK ON with the spring clamp they use. Man, that was a challenge. After battling with the door gasket spring, I've seen various videos where people lay the washer on its side and remove the bottom. I'll enter through the bottom if I have to do this again! You can see what I had in the pictures from when I did remove the old pump. The shaft "snapped" and the impeller fell off! The impeller was loose, as I could feel with my finger moving around within, but the motor was still spinning. The washer functions as it did before after being reassembled and tested; everything is back to normal. The only advantage a repairman has over you is that they have the correct tool to reinstall the clamp on the door gasket, so I'd suggest taking on this project because it isn't that difficult and will save you a ton of money over calling one. Although it would have been much easier with the tool, I was cheap and decided to forgo spending the extra $30. Although it was a challenge, I managed to complete the task without the tool. It was a cost-effective solution to get the washer back in working condition because the pump cost $30 as opposed to what the neighborhood stores in town wanted, which ranged from $45 to $60.

The automatic washer water pump in my Inglis washer started to leak, so I purchased this one. I have no idea how I acquired a Whirlpool produced in Canada in the US, but it came with the house, so mystery abounds. After 11 years, the impeller wheel had finally begun to eat through the exterior housing, occasionally leaking. Until I opened it up to look into it and discovered the issue, it wasn't a major concern because it was intermittent at best (3 times in 6 years).Instead of just showing the pump, I've included a picture of the entire kit. It's a real OEM component. Before installing it, I carefully tested it for leaks and seeps. I put some baggies over the outlet and input and secured them using rubber bands after filling it with water. Then, using a large screwdriver, I twisted the impeller and held it in every position I could think of to check for leaks in any seams or the impeller's backside seal. I knew from reading reviews that the bag would have shoddy stitching or leaks. Everything appears to be in working order. If I discover any problems or it fails, I will change this review.Today is March 22, 2016. If something goes wrong, I'll post the failure date. Consider it to have worked flawlessly or that I had the washer replaced and handed the still-functional washer to someone who needed it if this isn't updated in a few years.Additionally, if you want to disassemble your washer, search for the model on YouTube and you should be able to locate a tutorial there. That is how I disassembled this. You may remove the cover by removing two screws, two clips, one Molex connector, and tilting the body 45 degrees.

Due to the fact that he had to order the product and accommodate us in his schedule, a Sears repairman could not have completed the issue as soon as we did. As a petite granny standing at 5' tall, I could have completed this task all by myself. The old pump may be removed from the machine right there at the front by unlocking one door with three screws! With the exception of utilizing a screw rather than the red, rubber grommet to open the circular "hatch" door, the new one fit well. Beware of all the water. We unhooked it and, after removing the old pump from the interior machine and letting the water drain into a bucket, we turned on the faucet by cracking the round grommet/plug. If there is no bucket to catch the water, it will spill everywhere if you totally remove the spherical "plug." Regarding these projects, see the YouTube videos! What a breeze! Cost me the pump's price plus roughly 45 minutes of labor. YOU ALL CAN DO THIS. Avoid paying a repairman when you can do it yourself! No leaks and everything worked well. A 10 to 12 year old might have completed this task!

I have to admit that I have never previously replaced a part on a washing machine, so I wasn't sure if this was the appropriate part to replace. There were no instructions included, and I felt extremely intimidated. With a little common sense, I persisted though. I unplugged the washer, turned off the water, tipped back the WM, and reached below to access the pump. The white base that surrounds the machine's base was meant to be removed, but it was a waste of time. The old pump swung out from behind the machine and had four hoses with clamps that needed to be removed. My old pump's protective plastic housing, the three screws holding it to the housing, the two color-coded wires, and the pump itself were all removed. I then mounted the new pump in the other direction. I would estimate that it took me between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. Even dinner wasn't missed by me. I prayed, crossed my fingers, and made vows to God that I believed I could keep while I ran a few carpets through a quick wash cycle in the washing machine. When I come up for church this Sunday, the pastor will be genuinely shocked because it performed like it was brand-new. Don't laugh; it might actually occur. BTW, even in the absence of installation instructions, the pump performed admirably. The water came out as it should have. I abhor going to church!

The drain pump served as the ideal substitution. The output hose was weeping, which was the only issue, so I had to use a car hose clamp in place of the original one. No leaks at all. runs really smoothly with barely any vibration. It was a hassle to put the old pump back together because it had a twist housing rather of a three-screw housing. Now that the original pump has been fixed, that will serve as my backup.They said "Original Version," but our washer was made by a different brand, so the term is misleading. The "F21" fault code was being shown by our washing machine. I realized there was a different problem when I checked the strain basket and saw that it was not clogged. I performed a diagnostic test, and I was able to hear the pump motor producing an odd noise (YouTube has excellent instructional). Long story short, I probably saved $300 thanks to this pump. When our repairman arrived, he claimed to have a pump that would suit our washer (Old Maytag). Evidently, the OEM has been withdrawn, and this is extremely unusual. He would have to custom order it and charge us $350 for a new one. After watching YouTube to learn how to empty the drum, I had ordered this the day before in the hope that I might be able to change it myself (btw, use a huge ziplock wrapped around the drain and a bucket - tip of the day!). Unbelievably, the Amazon truck with the pump I had purchased arrived in our neighborhood as the technician was getting ready to leave. Even though he still charged us for his services, we were overjoyed to have our washer working again. Although it has only been one day, everything are going well. Another tip: We received a "SUDS" problem when we ran our first load after installing the new pump (the initial fault was F21, by the way). On my LE WM2010CW, I have been intermittently getting the dreaded OE error for some time. The washer could be unplugged so I could reset it or clean the filter and get back to work. However, the previous time the mistake occurred, I was unable to get the machine to complete a cycle, and draining the machine manually essentially destroyed my wood floor.Like other people, I performed some research and discovered that the drain pump had failed, which was the cause of the OE mistake. I viewed numerous YouTube videos of others completing this repair, so I was certain there were no obstructions before obtaining the item, and I was confident I could complete the work.After disconnecting and draining the machine, you can install the pump by first removing the screws holding the cover (located on the back of the unit), then sufficiently removing the front control panel to gain access to the screws holding the front panel, then removing the spring clamp holding the door gasket, the door sensor connector, and finally the pump. Washing machines are not that difficult to operate.My item was disassembled a little bit differently than in the YouTube vids. Find the hidden screw if it is stopping a part from coming off and remove it until everything is out of the way. The hoses and harnesses for the pump were fairly simple to remove, and my partner and I took advantage of the time while the unit was open to clean the inside, which had gathered some dirt and soap that I assume overflowed from the detergent drawer.Once I figured out how to get inside, the process was rather simple and the pump itself was simple to replace.I only needed a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers to complete the task. Changing the spring clamp that holds the gasket for the main door worried me. I also learnt that the polarity of the motor connection doesn't matter when you replace the connecting wires; it just took a little bit of getting used to, but I found that using zip ties to make rings and pull the spring instead of the specific LG pliers worked wonderfully for me (but I marked them when I took them off just in case).happy with the result. Now my washer runs flawlessly. This task is manageable if you know how to use a screwdriver and are meticulous and organized to keep track of the screws and the order of the components. I had to stack and move the washer out of the laundry room so that I could access it, and that was the hardest part. It took me just over an hour to do the actual dismantling, installation, and reassembly; if I had to do it again, I could probably finish in 40 minutes. Yes, I avoided waiting for a service call and saved at least $300 by doing it myself.
