I found this garland exactly what I was looking for. It has just enough red and pine cone flashes of color and a hint of sparkle to make it look realistic without being garish. It took some time for me to shape it the way I wanted it to lay flat on the mantle and fluff it back up once I got it out of the box, but I suppose that's to be expected. It plugs in instead of running on batteries. The chord's short length near the garland's end left me feeling a little let down. It served as my mantle. My electrical outlet is at eye level and directly next to the mantle. The garland was severely skewed to one side when I initially tried plugging it in due to the small chord. Contrary to what I had read in other reviews, there is only about a foot of cord between the last light and the plug. Although I merely grabbed an extension chord, it wasn't the end of the world, but knowing it in advance could be helpful if you're using it for a mantle as I was. Apart from that, I truly adore this garland and would purchase it once more.

The rope is strong but flexible, and the lights are a fair size.The options provide a decent diversity of blinking, but each setting automatically accelerates, making your leisurely fade seem a touch frantic. For that reason, I didn't give this product 5 stars.The remote has a long range and has a timer and dimmer choices. For quick access, the setting labels are printed directly on the battery box. I had no trouble utilizing the remote from distances of up to 20 feet.The vendor was a pleasure to work with, and the string is just as shown in the description. Amazon issued me a refund because I had bought the light set without the remote, which got lost.
