Finding these grease pencils made me happy! I recently came back from a genealogy-related trip to my father's hometown, where many of my relatives are interred in a number of nearby cemeteries. To make headstone rubbings and tracings, I utilized tracing paper and Diamond Peel-Off China Markers/Grease Pencils. The grease pencils performed a miraculous feat. I've never found grease pencils that work better for drawing on skin. I always/only use these China Sharpie Grease Pencils as a Scalp Micropigmentation SMP, Microblading, and Permanent Makeup artist to draw my initial outline on my client's skin because they easily mark all skin types without wiping off too easily while still needed, but will easily wipe off with water when I intended to clean it off. Of course, whether I'm tattooing or microblading, I still have to put the proper surgical marker over the grease pencil outline to maintain my outline.

I've been looking for them because I didn't want to spend the money on a microblading wax pencil and I've finally found them! They are really effective for me. The only drawback is that they take a bit longer to cut to a flat point than other types, but considering the price, this is not a big deal. It's wonderful that they don't smear all that much. In addition, a box of them costs less than one ordinary pencil.

These are simply ideal for my needs. I place a piece of clear plastic on top and trace the pattern when I make a quilt or wall hanging. These markers were quite challenging to get rid of when I first attempted using them on a cheap "chalkboard," which was actually just plywood painted with chalkboard paint. When I finally had to use a magic eraser, some of the chalkboard paint was scraped. After that, I applied the markers to a genuine chalkboard, and POW! The two different tips (chisel and fine) make it simple to write large or small, and they are incredibly elegant and bright. With simply a damp towel, they may be quickly removed. I adore using these to write and draw. For simple removal, make sure to use them on a genuine chalkboard.

At work, I use these to mark electronic equipment. I marked suspicious-acting units with a yellow X and plainly failing units with a red X. To save time while retrieving items at home, I label plastic storage containers with their contents. These "grease pencils" have the advantage of being easily removed with a dry paper towel or one that has been briefly dampened with mild solvent or Formula 409. They also leave NO MARK. I was concerned that my experience would be as negative as some of the reviews when I made this purchase. I have not had any problems. On a board I bought separately, it writes beautifully, and so far I've had no problems. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I keep the markers' caps up and store them in their original boxes as a precaution. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and will probably make another buy.

Although these grease pencils leave marks, they are not as dark as those from other manufacturers. It's really simple to wipe off [in fact, it's too simple for my application on plant tags]. The fact that the pencils break SO readily is my major complaint. Many of the tips snapped immediately, while others split in half as I peeled the tip... after it shattered. The other two varieties I've tested haven't been this way, so maybe it's human error.
You can sharpen a china marker with a pencil sharpener, but it is not the ideal way to do so. The china marker will wear down quickly and the lead will break easily. A better way to sharpen a china marker is to use a knife or a sandpaper block.
