Great baby carrier for trekking. Due to the importance of durability and spine-saving technology to us, we chose to splurge on this product.AFTER YOU RECEIVE THE ITEM, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. We went over the entire class in the living room so that we were both aware of how things should fit and how to make adjustments. There are a LOT of clips, buckles, and adjustment cords scattered everywhere, so you and your hiking companion should be familiar with their functions. I say this because even a minor change here and there can drastically alter how comfortable your hike is! I believe that my spouse loved having me along for the first trip to assist change things from the ground up. It wasn't much of a hassle by the second hike, so this isn't a major recurring hassle. The most crucial adjustment for the wearer, in my opinion, is above each shoulder. By drawing two cords forward, you may put the pack closer to your spine and prevent any sensation of being pulled backward. Our one-year-old daughter adored it and didn't utter a sound but happy cooing till she fell asleep in it. When loading and unloading your child, it stands extremely firmly, and it has A LOT of room, especially for day hiking necessities. My husband felt that there was enough airflow to his back because we reside in hot Alabama. We can't wait to use this pack when it's warmer outside, which will probably make us appreciate it even more.

Exceptionally cool carrier. My infant and I struggle to get her to sleep for naps, but this carrier quickly puts her to sleep. She like the view and how cozy it is. On a camping vacation, we wore it and it felt amazing. You must adjust everything to achieve the proper feel for the baby and your back because there are numerous adjustment straps. That was advantageous for me because my 1-year-old weighs 25 lbs, and even the crotch area has two adjustment straps. She had a lot of cushioning to rest her head on. Her neck is padded and the harness is comfortable. I adore the insulated milk pocket. The kickstand is the only thing I would alter. It MUST be manually closed before being turned on. You cannot just close it by grabbing the leg behind you. It requires pressing two buttons on the sides. A fantastic, elegant carrier all around. I don't like the abundance of wild color and visual straps everywhere. This gray and black combination is cool. Our stroller complements the aluminum well. Excellent purchase.

I only gave this product four stars because it took me a few tries to get the fit just perfect. Although it still doesn't feel completely secure, I believe I'm getting there. I'm 130 pounds and 5'2" for reference. The pack was changed to the XS setting after I visited to a sporting goods store to have it fitted for me. Every time I put it on, the torso would slide up to S, despite my attempts to set it to the XS option. Uncertain if the additional load caused it to slide or not, or if the cam is simply loose. The belt buckle is exactly below my belly button when it is on the small setting.Although the elegant pack is nice, it does not reduce your child's weight. At 11 months old, my daughter is about 20 pounds. The whole contraption felt rather heavy, what with her, the hydration bladder, and other items. I carried this on a 3 mile hike that gained 1000 feet in elevation. Even while the pack itself felt hefty, neither my back nor shoulders felt strained. I felt like I was leaning further forward than I would have liked, and that's my only criticism. To make sure I didn't lean too much, I had to constantly correct my posture. What if I could get the torso to adapt and stay on XS, making everything feel even better? The unknown. Since I have a history of back trouble, I would highly recommend this pack because the next day I didn't feel like I had carried more than 30 pounds.

I bought this pack for my husband and I to do camping, hiking, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities with our 30-pound, 18-month-old son. I was overjoyed to find it, and I was even happier to discover how reasonably priced it was. The device is superbly constructed, and my son adores it. He dislikes being constrained and appears to think he can wander around and watch what's happening without any problems. He appears relaxed and well-controlled. I appreciate how versatile and easily adjustable this is; it fits my husband and I well, and it could also be adjusted to fit smaller people. I love how the waist and shoulder straps are cushioned to assist you remove some of your body weight. It significantly lightens your load. I'm pleased with the additional storage (which is actually everywhere when you realize that you are carrying a human being) and the water bottle holders. Because I live in Utah and enjoy hiking in the high rocky mountains, the weather is always changing. It can go from sunshine to snow to rain and 70 degrees F to 30 degrees F in as little as 12 hours. I particularly appreciate this pack for yard work and housework because it allows my son to participate without getting in the way or getting into risky situations. There is only one hue available, which disappoints me. I wish there were additional earth-tone choices. It also sounds like a fun game to throw it on the ground all the time, so I wish it already came with a few accessories like a mirror to look back at your child in and a sippy grasp to hold drinks. (I have now bought these items, and I advise you to as well.) Since we don't slow down when we have kids, we take them along and educate them to enjoy the mountains as much as we do. We are active outdoor enthusiasts, so I'm very excited to utilize this with our son and future kids! I would definitely suggest this product to anyone who enjoys being outside and wants to bring their kids along. I've already recommended it to numerous friends and family members who lead similar lifestyles to ours. Bring your kids along in this cozy, convenient, and secure pack and continue enjoying the activities you love!

We adored this stuff utterly. I hope we'll use it more frequently. It was wonderful to have for our 1.5-year-old on our most recent vacation to Disney, for which we purchased it. We didn't have to carry our daughter or chase after her while we waited in line for 75 minutes. She even napped for two hours in it since it was so comfortable. Backpack is simple to put on and take off on your own. is strong and sits well on the ground.

We absolutely adore this carrier. It suits both my 6'2" spouse and my 5'2" frame. My daughter is 3 and quite tall, so even though she meets the weight limit, the shoulder straps that are supposed to keep her in don't fit properly up and around her. We chose this one because we felt that the foot rests were essential. There, our daughter feels really at ease. We've never felt like we didn't have enough capacity for anything we were bringing because there are so many pockets. We packed snacks, large water bottles for everyone, even the dogs, diapers, bottles, formula, a change of clothes for each daughter just in case, and all of these things fit in the bag. We genuinely enjoy it.

I recently received this in the mail. Instead of being blue-gray like in the image, the color is a rich forest green. I didn't have any issues with the hue. Just a little surprise, and I made sure it was the appropriate product by checking twice.Despite the fact that my Kelty Redwing 50 (3100 cubic inches) is just on the line between the small and big sizes (3000 or more), I got the large size. I put it to the test, and it really does appear too big for the Redwing 50. (someone even made the joke that I could use it as a makeshift tent if it came down to it). I believe there should be a medium size so that the cover of medium sized packs won't be too huge or too little. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/6135fyD3nNL.jpg, which is almost twice as big as the Redwing 50, shows how big it can get before being cinched up. It gives the impression that my rucksack is larger than it actually is.I'm going to use this rain cover for trekking and hiking in Korea in a month, when it's rainy and there will be typhoons, so check back for an updated evaluation on how it stands up.

Choosing a carrier when there are so many options available seemed difficult, but I loved the way the Kelty perfect fit model looked. When I read more about the firm and discovered that they specialize in backpacks and hiking equipment, etc., it was more streamlined and tidy appearing than others. Compared to one of the marginally less expensive options, I believed it would be a safe bet.I started looking for carriers since we moved next to a long, wooded, and gravel walking trail, and I was wearing out our pricey stroller while exploring it. In addition, I preferred to exercise more than push the stroller. Our 8.5-month-old son was quite interested in it. He really enjoys it; we've already gone on a two-hour hike. He obviously finds the seat and stirrups pleasant because he will even take a nap in them. Although I did recently purchase a car seat head support to go with it (basically a pad for their forehead attached to an adjustable strap that I hook up to pack), he has slept soundly thus far (see pictures).I heartily endorse this model for easy treks, zoo visits, and other outings. If we were going on a real hiking trip, I'd grab the one with the hydration bladder bag and extra pockets, but the perfect fit model is great for traveling and hiking around cities.
Yes, you can carry a 4 year old in a backpack, but it is not recommended for long periods of time. Backpacks are not designed to carry the weight of a child, and carrying a child in a backpack can cause back and shoulder pain.
You can indeed gate check a child carrier backpack, which can be a lifesaver when traveling with young kids. This way, you can avoid lugging the heavy carrier through the airport and simply check it at the gate. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to remove your child from the carrier before checking it, so plan accordingly.
Of course you can go for long walks with a baby! A baby carrier will make it easier if you have a long walk ahead of you. If you have a stroller, you can also take the baby out for a walk in the stroller.
Yes, you can put a 3 year old in a hiking backpack, but it is important to make sure that the backpack is the right size and that the child is properly secured in it. Hiking backpacks are not meant for small children and can be very dangerous if not used correctly.
There's no such thing as wearing your baby too much! In fact, babywearing has many benefits for both baby and caregiver. Wearing your baby promotes bonding, helps with breastfeeding, and can even calm a fussy baby. Plus, it's simply convenient. If you're ever feeling overwhelmed, just pop your baby in a carrier and take a deep breath.
