Can a phone charger drain your car battery?

Your car battery can die if you leave your phone charger plugged in while you're not using it. The charger will keep drawing power from the battery, even if your phone isn't attached, and that can eventually lead to a dead battery. It's best to unplug your charger when you're not using it.

Can a USB charger drain a car battery?

If you leave your USB charger plugged into your car’s cigarette lighter outlet, it could drain your car battery. Most car batteries are only meant to provide a small amount of power over a short period of time. If you leave your USB charger plugged in for an extended period of time, it could deplete your car battery’s power, causing it to die.

Car Charger RAVPower Mini Dual USB Car Adapter 24W 4.8A Output, Compatible with Iphone 11/Pro/Max XS Max XR X 8 7 Plus, Ipad Pro Air Mini and Galaxy S9 S8 Plus and More Review:

This product does EXACTLY as it is supposed to! We tested the RAVPower for several hours with two Samsung S5 smartphones—I know, not the most recent—while my wife used Google navigation and I browsed the web. I'll purchase RAVPower once more for our backup vehicle. because the "2 packs" I previously bought didn't function at all. And btw, purchasing two RAVPowers appears to be less expensive than purchasing my previous two "cr?p."I previously bought a 2-pack: Size-wise, smaller!!! gadget (excellent , BUT) (great , BUT) virtually identical product, however in spite of the word "Dual," I was unable to charge the battery. My brother initially complained after I let him drive the car, but until it actually happened to me, I didn't believe him. When you don't know the route very well or at all and your phone battery starts dying while you're driving, it becomes somewhat significant. What was/is the "dual" question? There are two USB "holes," so yes, there are two, but not even one of them could charge a phone.4.8A Mini Powerful Dual USB Car Charger Adapter for iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6, 6 Plus, 5, Samsung S6, S6 Edge, and Android Devices, by Archeer 2 packs

2019 HUSSELL Car Charger - Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 - Dual USB 5.4A/30W Fast Car Charger Adapter - QC 3.0 3A + Smart IC 2.4A - Compatible with iPhone - Galaxy S10 S9 S8 S7 S6 Note LG Nexus Pixel etc. Review:

Before choosing this charger, I looked at a number of others. The most had a similar appearance, however I discovered that this HUSSELL charger had the top evaluations. Although it cost a little more than the others, I wanted something that would last rather than something I would need to replace after three months. It appears that I made the right choice. Even though I've only had it for a short while, I've used it with my Samsung Galaxy S10 a few times, and it works fine. The product is expertly crafted and of high quality. The ports are visible in the dark inside of the car thanks to a weak internal blue light. One thing about the listing perplexed me a little. On the charger, there are two ports, but they are not identical. One is a Quick Charge 3.0 port by QualComm, which I use to charge my S10. The other is a port marked "Smart Output 5V 2.4A." I've included a picture of the instructions, and they advise using QC3.0 for quick charging in order to achieve the best performance.I am content with my purchase and would suggest the item. The exceptional quality is well worth the somewhat increased cost.

Car Charger, Anker 24W Dual USB Car Charger Adapter, PowerDrive 2 for iPhone 11/XS/MAX/XR/X/8/7/6/Plus, iPad Pro/Air 2/Mini, Note 5/4, LG, Nexus, HTC, and More Review:

UPDATE: Shortly after I published this review, Anker contacted me. I received a new car charger in just two days, and so far it is performing flawlessly. I can't express enough how much I love Anker products. All of the products we have bought from Anker have been of the highest quality, and the device that had a problem was replaced right away with wonderful customer service support.Original Assessment Along with 12 Anker cords, this charger has been fantastic. I possess two chargers. My daughter, however, informed me yesterday that the lower port on the charger was causing her battery to discharge. I today plugged in my phone at 40% because I was certain she couldn't be right. It immediately fell to 39%. No need to worry; the lightning proved that it was charging. As I continued to load the app, it kept restarting. I then observed that the power was 38%, then 37. What?? I opened my Amazon app to see the reviews and plugged the power wire into the higher connector. It was intriguing to learn that another person also believed that their phone or app had been reset. My phone has increased from 37% to 48% in that time utilizing the top port, and it has been around 7 minutes. Although I am confident that Anker will fix it, I thought it would be helpful to post this as a review in case it happens to someone else as well. In general, I adore Anker products and will continue to purchase them without hesitation, however I anticipate that both ports will provide power. I'm not sure if this has happened previously or if it's a brand-new problem. I'm sure we've plugged in two phones numerous times, so perhaps we've only successfully utilized the top charger.

AUKEY USB Car Charger, Flush Fit Dual Port USB Car Charger with 24W/4.8A Output for iPhone Xs/Max/XR, iPad Pro/Mini, Samsung Galaxy Note9 and More Review:

Works in the 2013 Mazdaspeed3's two power outlets. You should be aware that the product description states that it is incompatible with Mazdas, and other reviews are divided on the subject. If this charger is compatible with a specific Mazda, it will likely depend on the socket/component charger's and tolerance variances. According to several reviews, this charger might have been manufactured with two distinct center contact lengths. The Mazda socket appears to be deeper than most other manufacturers, and this charger is rather small. There is a tiny space beneath the head, followed by a slim ring. The narrow ring seems to be the intended stop for flush installation. The narrow ring's removal would enable deeper installation but make removal considerably more challenging. I didn't have to take the ring off.PRO: Installation is flush due to the small size.Closes the socket cover and has an almost OEM appearance (may require small trimming of edge of charger on side next to cover hinge). No dazzling LEDs.CON: If it is not meant to be left installed in the socket, it is difficult to remove. It would be wonderful to have LED soft glow in the ports to show power and make the ports more visible at night.I selected this charger because it allows me to close the socket cover while it is fitted. In the past, I experimented with a SCOSCHE ReVolt USBC242M due to the AUKEY's ambiguous compatibility. A good charger, the SCOSCHE is a bit bigger than the AUKEY. The SCOSCHE allows the socket cover to close just far enough to allow the console pocket door to close, but it protrudes too much to allow the socket cover to close all the way. With a small modification, the AUKEY allows the socket cover to completely close and offers a more integrated OEM appearance. A piece of the AUKEY face's edge had to be removed in order to make room for the hinged side of the socket cover in its closed position, which was necessary for the socket cover to fully close. I simply flattened a place on the outside ring of the face with a metal file. Another reviewer who used a utility knife to complete a similar modification and included images in the post. The ports on the SCOSCHE do have a pleasant, subtle blue LED glow that complements the Mazda's blue ambient LED lighting without being overpowering. A soft blue LED glow in the ports would be excellent to signal power and make the ports more apparent at night, at least for this Mazda use.

excellent, sturdy charger It serves its purpose and was just what I needed! I can attest that the rapid charger is correct. quickly charges your phone! Quick Charge 3.0 Car Charger RAVPower 40W 3A Car Adapter with Dual Qc USB Ports Compatible with Galaxy S10+ S9+ S8+ Note 10+ Note 9+ Note 8, iPhone 11 Pro Max X XR XS Max and More (Black) Review:

My job needs me to keep my phone charged at all times while I'm at work, but the app I use consumes power like a sieve. To counter this, I purchased this, which is superior to the standard 2A chargers the business offers. My phone is QC1 compatible, not QC3, however it still charges fairly quickly. It would charge even more quickly with a QC2 or QC3 phone. For my phone, I have two Mophie battery covers. While the other charges, one person remains on the phone. I switch them out if one battery case runs out. The first battery case is fully charged with this charger by the time I have used up the second battery case. The cord that came with it was only one meter long, which is my only gripe (3.5 ft). which is a little bit too brief.

Syncwire iPhone USB Car Charger - Upgrade 4.8A/24W Car Charging Adapter with Built-in Coiled [Mfi Certified] Lightning Cable for Apple iPhone 11/XS/Max/XR/X/8/7/6S/6 Plus, Ipad & More - Black Review:

Any car would benefit greatly from having this iPhone car charger. I thought the built-in cord was convenient because I didn't have to give up another charging cable or worry about it unplugging from a USB port. Despite this, I appreciate having a USB connector so I can charge a different kind of gadget. The charger is solid, light, ready to use right out of the box, easy to use, and appears to be made of high-quality materials thanks to the excellent design, which has also prevented me from experiencing any issues with heat distribution or durability.

Rapid USB C Car Charger, Compatible for Samsung Galaxy S10/S10+/S10e/Note 10/Note 10 Plus/Note 9/Note 8/S9/S9 Plus/S8 Plus/A50/A70, Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Fast Car Charger with Type C Cable 3.3ft Review:

I was in quest of a "rapid charger" after buying a Samsung Note 10 Plus a week earlier. Particularly after spending a day driving about in Hawaii in a rented car with the GPS on all the time and my phone running out of battery quicker than it was charging with my rudimentary, inexpensive car charger. Anyway, I bought four of them since I couldn't believe a car charger existed that could charge my phone quickly and appear as a fast charger on my phone. Only two of the four were fast chargers, and this was one of them. It's only a matter of preference since this one was somewhat more expensive but included a charging cord and a charger with an on/off indicator. The other was the Aukey QC 3.0, which works with any phone despite being made exclusively for devices that allow rapid charging. If you're searching for a fast charger that charges your phone quickly and also shows up as a fast charger on your phone, I highly recommend any one of them!

Maxboost Car Charger with SmartUSB Port 4.8A/24W [Black] Portable Charger for iPhone 11 Pro Max XS X 8 7 6s 6 Plus 5S SE, Galaxy S10 S9 S8 Edge, Note 10 9 8, LG G7 G8, HTC, Nexus, Pixel, iPad Pro Review:

Below is my original review. Since I've spoken with the business, I'm amending this review. The first one I purchased was useless; it simply kept turning on and off repeatedly. I experimented with it with several phones and vehicles. It simply would not function with my iPhone, but it appeared to function with my blue tooth gadgets. Apple informed me that it probably won't work with their products because not everything is compatible with them and that's how they get you to buy their goods or the goods of their approved third parties. When I contacted the MaxBoost team, they graciously offered to send me a new charger. It appears to be working after my initial usage of it this morning after purchasing it yesterday night. I can only presume that the first time, I received a faulty item. They responded quickly and were really accommodating, therefore I'm upgrading my rating from one star to four stars. I hope this one stays effective!"iPhones CAN NOT be charged using this car charger. Instead of charging an iPhone, it repeatedly connects and disconnects each time the device emits an obnoxious bell. The phone will never charge as a result of the constant connecting and disconnecting. I contacted the business, but I never got a response. Poor customer service and a subpar product. I'm stuck with this useless item because I was unable to return it."

AINOPE Car Charger, 4.8A All Metal Car Charger Adapter Dual USB Port Fast Car Charging Mini Flush Fit Compatible with iPhone Xs max/XR/x/7/6s, iPad Air 2/Mini 3, Note 9/Galaxy S10/S9/S8 – Black Review:

Since the majority of adapters are made of plastic, I was seeking for something that wouldn't degrade easily. I'm impressed with this small gadget so far. It is compact, feels sturdy, and fits perfectly in my car's lighter area. It doesn't go in far enough for my car to be able to close the lid, but it's only little visible. I don't even care if it is elevated up a little if it keeps functioning as effectively as it is right now. That is not a big deal to me. If it had, it would have been fantastic, but it's nothing to be upset about. I enjoy how the glistening blue makes it so simple to notice in the dark. I'll monitor its performance over time. But for now, it appears to be a wise purchase. After a few months, I'll revise this review to reflect on its endurance. So far, I endorse this item.By the way, in the final image, my car is not dirty. What appears to be white dirt is caused by the brightness of the flash in contrast to the rough finish and the slight sheen.
