After reading the negative reviews, I was a little hesitant to buy this, especially the one that claimed the purchaser had not received a genuine Hampton Bay fan remote (possibly useful information - we bought our own from "Ceiling Fan Parts Superstore," but it was shipped from and fulfilled by Amazon, so try to buy from them if you can? If not, choose "fulfilled by Amazon" so that Amazon can assist you if you receive a fake item. Fortunately, our remote appears to be "legit" because it bears the Hampton Bay brand and functions well with our ceiling fan.We are just thankful that the control we have for our ceiling fan, which is 18 years old, works! The new remote we received in the mail looks almost identical to our old one from 18 years ago, with the exception that it has a "reverse" button, whereas the old one didn't (I'm assuming our fan doesn't have the "reverse" option on it :)). However, even with that reverse button disregarded, I tested all the other buttons, and they all functioned as intended.Make sure you at least keep your old remote until the new one comes in the mail if you still have it (in our case our old remote fell to the ground and the plastic housing on it cracked). If you look inside the battery compartment, you will see a number of tiny little levers/switches set to a "on-off" position or possibly a "1" or "2" setting (our old remote said "on-off," while tiny levers in our new remote say "1 " or "2"). If you match the settings on your new remote to the settings on your old remote, I believe you should be good to go. Fortunately for us, the tiny gears and levers on the remote we received were already in the same settings as those on our old remote, so we didn't need to make any adjustments to get the new remote to operate.We've just had the replacement remote for 3 days, but I'm good about maintaining my reviews, so if you see this one years from now, just assume that our new remote is still fantastic!

I can't believe I put off getting this remote for so long. Given that I purchased my Harbor Breeze ceiling fan in 2010, I assumed it wouldn't function. My original remote control for the fan broke perhaps three to four years ago. My grandson exhausted it! Replacement remotes for my model were no longer available at that time from HB. I chose to try your remote after years of missing my remote and becoming weary of getting up in the middle of the night to turn on the fan. She-Bang!!!!! Within minutes, I was able to work remotely!! All you need to do is adhere to the instructions. Install the battery, program the old remote's numbers, and then turn it on! I'm grateful.

I've wished for years to be able to operate the ceiling fan in my bedroom from the comfort of my bed. I occasionally explore for solutions, and the PECHAM remote is the first time I've discovered something that appears to do what I want. I probably made a mistake by looking online for directions on how to unscrew the fan. Unnecessarily, I removed the light kit and the blades. To reach the cables and the electrical can, I simply had to loosen the collar at the ceiling and allow it to slip downward. I found a PDF of instructions for a Hunter Universal remote that worked well because the instructions that came with the remote were useless to me. Three cables are inserted into the fan, and two wires coming out of the ceiling control the fan. The device fit snugly in the hand. To make it work, I removed a small portion of sheet rock, but the collar totally hides that. If I hadn't given myself the extra work, I could have finished the entire task in an hour. The fan now has absolutely no dust on it, which is a plus!The technology is faultless. There is no signal issue, and I can control the fan from upstairs or downstairs. I'm also really happy with the remote's size and appearance. I don't mind the beeping sounds. I had thought of disconnecting it after reading the prior reviews, but I'm glad I didn't. It informs me that the signal has been picked up.

This transmitter is to be purchased only to replace the remote your Fan was originally installed with. You cannot simply add this unit to any Fan that does not already have a receiver pre-installed
Look inside the old remote with the battery cover off. There is a series of "dip" switches (4). with a pen, slide the switches in the new remote to match the same pattern as the old remote. Replace the battery in the new remote and things should work

The capacity to work for a "fresh Install" was unclear to me after reading several evaluations. In their product descriptions, I also noticed the vendors' caution. I consulted them personally as a result. For goodness' sake, all this is is a remote-controlled switch. Why wouldn't it succeed? Well, they retorted that it would and that their stance on new installations is somewhat circumspect in an effort to prevent product returns. All things considered, if the receiver can fit in the canopy cup where your fan meets the ceiling, the installation is straightforward and it functions. The receiver's white and black cables are connected to the black and white lines. The three cables exiting the receiver are connected to the fan's black, white, and blue wires. The fan motor is in black and white, while the light is in blue. (For some installs, black can occasionally be red.) The green wire, which is grounded on the canopy metal, is connected to the bare wire coming from your ceiling. (The green wire is not in any way attached to the receiver.) Just be careful not to leave all of the dip switches on (as most people do...) and make sure the receiver's dip switch pattern matches the remote's. I simply turned dip switch 3 all the way down on the receiver and remote. For the remote, a 9V battery is required. When everything is connected, the system just functions. The light will dim and brighten if you hold down the "light" button (it's green), and the fan has three speeds. You now have a fan that can be controlled remotely and has a dimmable light. It's not clear to me why this wouldn't work with any fan as all it is is a switch between the power supply and the fan or light. However, I am not an authority on all fans worldwide, so there might be some explanation that I am not aware of. But if you're talking about a typical ceiling fan, I'd say this should operate without a problem. I bought the 53T-28R. Hope this was useful.

I at last located a fan remote control kit with a little transmitter. To demonstrate how I repositioned the cables to make it fit, I've supplied photographs. I've never bought a fan bracket this little, so finding one that fits is wonderful. I did need to unplug the wire and take the fan off its mounting bracket. You can see where I relocated the home wires outside the bracket so the transmitter would fit in the bracket and allow the cover to be reinstalled. (Tip: To prevent damaging the fan, you can sit the fan in an empty tote while moving the house wiring.) Install the fan again. The transmitter is slid in. You can now proceed by putting the fan wires outside in one direction and the house cables outside in the other. Connect them to the transmitter as directed. The light will be powered by the line (switch) for the fan, therefore if you have a separate power wire for it that is typically red, you can cut it off because you don't need it. The remote will then control everything at that point.

This thing has me absolutely giddy. We put the first one, but it didn't function, for reasons I'm not really clear of, so we replaced it and utilized the second one as we bought three units for the three rooms. A ceiling fan with a flush mount had this fitted. It functioned! It's great how the lights switch on with a tiny beep. The fan speed was altered. Perfect! Next install is up. A strange tiny widget that joins the wires is included with these. My son felt they were excellent, but I thought they were pointless. It's noteworthy to observe that neither the initial unit nor this sort of connector were included. Perhaps that was one of the issues.I gave the second one five stars because it installed and operated flawlessly. The company's customer service is also really fantastic. They are incredibly responsive, and I've spoken with them before. That is a major plus, so we went ahead and bought the following two units. I'm glad we have those available as well. Another major benefit of these was the pricing. Affordable units of excellent quality!!! At roughly $15, these are quite reasonably priced.UPDATE: As I already indicated, FNADO provides excellent customer service! They got back to me! My replacement arrived from them! Fantastic company and goods. They support their offerings. I greatly appreciate it.

The exceptional quality of this ridiculously inexpensive remote kit astounded me.It is essentially identical to a name-brand remote. A rather good feature is that when activating low or medium speed, the receiver temporarily puts the fan into high to start it running before dropping to the selected speed. The radio beeps softly to acknowledge button presses, similar to any name-brand receiver. It's simply a plain white plastic remote in terms of appearance and feel; nothing exceptional, but that's kind of how they're all made. The wall bracket is sufficiently robust.I don't see why you would spend more on a remote than this, unless you require a dimmer function or more than 3 fan speeds. (If you've never owned a fan remote before, it's absolutely worth the money at this price; not only is it much more handy to have it located next to the light switches, but you can also take the chains off the fan.) If you're at all familiar with connecting a ceiling fan, the installation should just take a few extra minutes.)

This remote, which I purchased to use with a Hunter 53091 fan, performs flawlessly. I don't know how inconvenient (if at all) it is to remove the base cover to install because I installed the remote receiver at the same time as the ceiling fan.The wiring is relatively simple, and the installation and fan synchronization instructions are well stated.The safe exit function is convenient, but I doubt I will ever use it because the space where I installed it is small enough for me to depart without falling over anything or bumping into anything. However, I have confirmed that the function operates properly and does so.Another useful feature is the dimming capability. The only thing I can think of to make this better is to have distinct dim and brighten buttons. Currently, the command operates as follows: When you keep holding down the light switch, the lights progressively get darker until they are at their darkest, at which time they gradually get brighter again. This function is fine, but it would be nice to be able to simply dim or brighten instead of having to go all the way down or all the way up before moving in the opposite direction. Not fully practical, but also not deserving of deducting a star.The simplicity of being able to regulate the fan or light without having to leave where you are is undoubtedly their best feature. However, it turns a single switch into a dual switch, enabling you to independently operate the fan and the light without the use of additional wall switches.Without a doubt, I would suggest this remote to everyone. And I'm sure I'll buy one of them for every new ceiling fan I put in my house.

For an existing Hunter ceiling fan that I installed in the late 1990s, I purchased this remote control. The installation proceeded without a hitch, and when I tried the remote as soon as I turned on the fan's power, I accidentally avoided the "many remotes on a single power circuit" problem. However, the fan's light fixture had CFL bulbs, and this gadget is unable to dim these. When the electricity was restored, I saw the lights momentarily flash, but I didn't pay them any attention because they had been functioning normally when I had tested the remote.But even after switching to incandescent bulbs to replace the CFLs, I was unable to dim them. I called Hunter's help number after unsuccessfully scouring the offered instructions for hints. Before even attempting to assist me, the support agent insisted on knowing the fan model number, which turned out to be unrelated to my issue. She also had a generally negative attitude. She requested that I take a picture of the model number and email it to them even after I read it to her from a sticker on top of the fan motor casing. My best guess is that she assumed I couldn't read the 5-digit model number because my old fan isn't on the script Hunter support zombies read from.I emailed Hunter, who had asked me to wait 1.5 hours before calling them back to give them time to receive and process the email, my three-part harmony written description of my issue, the fan and remote model numbers, multiple photos of the fan, along with the product label with model and serial numbers, and they received them.My hypothesis was that the dimmer feature was automatically off when the remote receiver first powered on since the CFL bulbs were inserted, as stated in the instructions. Although the instructions and Hunter website were silent on the matter, I surmised that this meant that after changing the CFLs, some human labor would be required to restore that feature.Then I recalled a part in the instructions that addressed "flashing CFL bulbs," as mine had done when I had initially turned it on. To turn the lights on and off using the remote, hold down the "fan off" button while pressing and releasing the light button twice, according to the instructions. I tried it because I was curious if this would be the "dimmer reset" function I was hoping for. No luck, but the directions recommended to keep trying till the CFL flashing ceased, so I did. Viola! Suddenly, the dimmer turned on.Avoid wasting your time on the Hunter support zombies, their poor instructions, or their website if you are experiencing the same issue. Just carry out this.
