I was therefore very dubious when I looked at these kinds of feeders for my cats. I wanted one that was high-quality and simple to clean. The quality of this feeder is excellent, and cleaning it is a breeze. My irrational, excitable ginger cat took to it right away. My Siamese cat initially resisted, but eventually complied. Every day I used to find the ginger's throw-up, sometimes in many locations. She consumes food as if it were the last meal she would ever have. Since I bought this feeder, I have only actually discovered one minor spill that was more liquid than food and appeared to be the result of her guzzling too much water too rapidly. I have not discovered throw up all over my house—aside from that one catastrophe, that is! I will buy another one to prevent my daughters from fighting over the one feeder because I am completely satisfied. It is worthwhile and it works!

Although I have been purchasing items from Amazon on a regular basis for years, this is the first review I have ever written. However, that is how much I adore this item. Perfect for my overweight cats! My cats have to use their paws to pry the food from the dish, which forces them to eat more slowly and stop when they've eaten enough. Since I began using it four days ago, I have not noticed any vomit mounds on the floor. Every day before, they ate until they puked. It will be interesting to observe what happens now that my three overweight cats are only consuming what they need to survive. Additionally, I was concerned that they would all start making a fuss when their bowls ran out of food as they used to, but they haven't at all. Since the feeder is flat on the bottom and not bolted to anything, it always appears to be filled with food. They appear to enjoy the new feeder now, and I believe they find it to be stimulating. They struggled for a day to figure out how to operate it and initially knocked it to the ground, but they quickly became proficient.

First off, I want to note that when shopping for a product to buy for my dog, I sought for a product that was safe for food grade, and this mat suited the criteria. In the hopes that it helps ease my toy poodle's separation anxiety, I bought this Lickimat. Due of his separation anxiety, I have to wear dog belly bands if I need to leave the house or go outdoors without him. If he can hear or see me when I'm outside, he will break any window blinds that might be in the way of his view of me. I've already used the mat three times: once when I could watch him to see if he would be destructive in any manner; I definitely don't want him to swallow anything detrimental to him; once when I had to go an errand; and once when I went to a different level of the house. When I got home, I placed the mat in the kitchen upstairs and went into a nearby room to watch how he used it. It was quite effective because it kept him occupied for more than 30 minutes. Later that night, I spread a small amount of organic peanut butter on the kitchen floor mat and went downstairs to see if he would follow me or stay with the mat until he had it cleaned. He surprisingly remained upstairs. When I'm at home, he never leaves my side, which is a positive indicator. He didn't wet his pad when I left on an errand the third time; good job. Although I wasn't gone very long when I did the errand, I'm hoping that this Lickimat, along with another reward toy I bought, would help him adjust to being alone occasionally.

I have three cats, but only my 4-year-old cat scarfs and barfs his dry food right away. His moist meal never causes it; only the dry does. He enjoys eating dry food, and he consumes mouthfuls at a time quite quickly! Since I started using this slow feeder ceramic bowl, all of my attempts to stop the issue have been unsuccessful. The first few days of attempting to get the food out made him quite upset and irritated, but once he learned how to play the bowl, everything was OK. He moves the food around with his paw after scooping up one or two bits at a time with his tongue. I first tried a less expensive silicone slow feeder, but it was so light that my younger cat (3 years old) kept dragging it around the house, flipping it over, and spilling food all over. Additionally, I was concerned that he would gnaw on the extremely soft plastic nubs. I was overjoyed to discover this ceramic bowl because it is sturdy, safe, and cannot be turned around. Also, cleaning it is simple. My life is so much simpler now that I don't have to constantly clean up after myself. There hasn't been a single incident in a few weeks! Although this feeder is a little pricey, there is no comparison to silicone feeders. If you have a barfing and scarfing cat, I highly recommend this feeder. Be patient; they may need a few days to become used to this bowl. They will eventually figure it out.
