My 9-year-old, 60-pound female Red Nose Staffordshire would itch every spring, so I got this to help her. I thought she was in excellent shape, save from springtime sensitivity. Every year, as she grew older, the springtime issues grew more severe. She had previously received cortisone injections and prednisone pills, which had assisted her in surviving the hardest months, but I was aware that the side effects were harmful to both her and me. Early last spring, as my girl Seri dreaded the approaching warmer months, I began looking into several methods to help her get through the season's excruciating itching. I made the decision to give her this probiotic, and I started her on a half-scoop (1/2 dose) in the morning and evening to help her get used to it. It was added to her food by me. To try with fish oil to treat my miserable scratchy dog, I bought this. When the vet gave Apoquel, it seemed to be the end of the matter, so I made the decision to look for another medication in an effort to prevent his problems from developing rather than only masking them. While I can't say this has cured him, it seems to have helped his symptoms, along with fish oil, weekly baths, and an apple cider vinegar. Hopefully, things will improve over time. Even though we still occasionally had to provide Apoquel to him, the dosage decreased from daily to every other day to perhaps once per week. Although the container appears to have a little amount of food in it, the tiny scoop means that each serving only needs a small amount. As a point of perspective, our dog weighs just under 70 lbs. We've only had it for about a month and haven't really put much of a dent in it, so we'll see how long it lasts. He eats it without any issues when we simply sprinkle it on top of his diet.

The fact that my cat will eat them is the most significant feature of these. He actually adores them. Each and every other pet supplement I've tested has had a significant issue with this. Because we made several changes at once in response to a major health issue he was experiencing, it is difficult to say with certainty what effect using this has had. In addition to daily liver additions, we also added a curcumin complex, an anti-inflammatory that can be used on cats to treat arthritic stiffness and pain (for a low red-blood cell count). Although we have now cut back on the curcumin and frequency of the liver, he continues to receive his daily probiotic "reward." He is 17 years old, his blood count has returned to normal, the veterinarian anticipates a long period of time before seeing him again, and he still acts like a much younger cat.
