Although this crate is far more durable than the previous one we bought, it does have a few problems.The bottom tray is just weak enough that I didn't feel comfortable hitting on it with a rubber mallet too hard for fear of cracking the plastic. The casters did not easily go in all the way. Although it's strong enough to support a cat and a litter box, I wasn't sure if it could withstand that kind of abuse. After I put the entire crate together, one wheel (the center one) wouldn't stay in and fell out, but the other wheels appear to be holding up just well.It was really simple to put together once I figured out how to use the clips that hold the cage together vertically. I completed it largely on my own, and it didn't take very long (my tall daughter did attach the top panel, but that's because I'm 4'11", not because it was difficult).Once everything is put together, the bottom clips don't want to stay closed, but the cage is solid enough without them fastening all the way down.Overall, I would still suggest this crate because it's a good, big crate for a reasonable price (compared to the price of similar crates), and the shelves are more than big enough to fit an average-sized cat. The flaws are all very minor. Even with the doors open, the cat we bought the crate for hasn't ventured out since I put it together yesterday, which is noteworthy considering how much she detested the one before it. This crate gives her a sense of safety and security because she doesn't get along with the other cats.

My cat would not stop meowing and would throw up in the car, but this box fixed those problems. I purchased it for a 17-hour trip, and my yowling, barfing cat was totally at ease the entire time. MAGICOnly two problems stood out to me. One is that although seatbelts can be used to secure it, your animal buddy may not be adequately protected in the event of a catastrophic accident (i.e., would likely be thrown through the cloth material). The other, less important problem is that when we were driving on rough roads, Kitty was a little jostled inside. The cat bed and a pillow were placed inside to resolve that (plenty of room, even with the litter box).In terms of safety, I suppose I might not advise this for quick excursions in a busy place where the likelihood of an accident is higher. However, if you need to calm the irate beast during a relatively safe and long journey, you can cushion it with cushions all around, providing at least a bit more padding if you have to stop briefly.I was quite concerned about how stress might effect my cat, who has a heart issue, but each time I peeked in, he was soundly sleeping. It was a complete 180 from the previous times I had him in the car. No sobbing, no throwing up, and no stress for people or cats. It would be ideal if they could create a Kevlar version that could confine him in an accident.

About a year ago, I invested in the white version of this cage, and I couldn't be happier. My 15-year-old senior cat screams pitifully as soon as the lights are turned out at night. He then employs mafia methods to wake me up at the crack of dawn by leaping all over the bed, howling, and shoving things off of my dresser. Every issue was resolved by this cage. He sleeps on the top shelf after I feed him here at night. I let him out in the morning and leave the doors open so he may use the litter box. I have his litter box in the bottom, food and drink on the second shelf, and his bed is on the top with a few little cushions to cuddle up with. It took him one or two days to get used to it, but now there is no more howling:) I placed some pillows and a scratching pad on top of the cage because it has become a favorite lounging spot for the other cats.This cage, which I hesitate to call a "cage" because it's so spacious and you can make it fairly attractive for your cat, has so many wonderful features. To avoid squeezing paws or tails, the doors close with a wide space. It has a wheel stop so it won't roll about aimlessly. After a year of regular use, it is still in excellent condition.A few modifications were required for the cage:- I fastened the trays down with a zip tie end because they flapped about and made noise when the cat landed on them. Look at the pictures to see how I did this; they make it much simpler to understand.— Grandpa I placed a little box on the bottom and second levels to serve as Cat's booster so she could jump from one level to the next (see photos). Since there is a lot of space between the levels, adding boosters is advised if your cat has arthritis or is elderly. The bottom-mounted woven box functions as a scratcher as well!- Because the pins were making so much noise, I took the chains off of them.The bottom level of this cage might be difficult to keep clean when litter gets caught under the metal edge. A hand brush used with some patience does a decent job, but I'm sure a hand vacuum would be far more effective. Despite this tiny criticism, I would still strongly suggest this.

This item actually came through and possibly saved a life for us. We hear the cries of the helpless animals, and our nighttime stroll around the region comes to an abrupt halt. We notice this pitiful little kitten curled up and trembling as cars zoom by as we glance across the street toward the highway we were traveling along. This dirty fluff ball raced over to me as soon as I crossed the street, yelling for aid. I then picked him up and carried him back to the other side. Looking around, it was evident that he had most likely been hit by a car and dumped. We set him down and started to leave in the hopes that he would go home, but this wailing, obviously limping little mess came hobbling back up to us and our enormous Great Dane. (There was also an empty box next to him.) We couldn't allow him to die because he wouldn't stop wailing and seemed to be terribly dehydrated. We set him up outside with food and water, and we watched as he gobbled everything down as quickly as he could. For the night, we did our best.He had a skin infection and a broken limb when we took him to the doctor the following morning. I notice there isn't much pee in the litter box when I go to clean it two days after he is released from confinement. Oh, please tell me he isn't urinating on our belongings. A short while later, I catch him attempting to urinate on our shoes. The kitchen floor, clothes, and curtains followed. Resuming quarantine What should we do next, OMG? Thankfully, we noticed it before he urinated on something that couldn't be thoroughly cleaned. Call the vet; they won't be much help with this. I then searched online. The only genuine answers I could find were that he might never get it right and that I had found a lot of knowledge.What do we do with a sick cat that is unable to be put outside and doesn't like using the litter box? Most cats quickly grasp it. This one was dozing off behind the toilet, inches from his litter box, on the toilet brush and plunger that he had just used to go potty.In order to wait for a solution, the little kitten that quadrupled in size in just two weeks was now completely hairless. He was residing in our bathroom.He only desires to be liked. He would have ended up at the shelter or worse if we had given the issue to someone else. For a while, if ever, he is not permitted to be an outdoor cat.After extensive research and expensive vet fees, we came to the conclusion that we needed to confine him and start the training process anew. He was no longer welcome to reside in the restroom, and neither were we. Finally, the company where I purchase my bird goods helped me find a home for this cat.The product in question IS the answer we were seeking. It needed to be put together, as with the majority of Prevue Pet Products. It wasn't hard for me to accomplish it alone. I put the assembly together in approximately 30 minutes. Except for one, every component was a flawless match. One of the metal connector bars was the only item that I had issue with. Compared to the models I saw at nearby retail stores, the product is significantly robust and well-made. Because of the wheels, moving the crate through the airport is a breeze. They attach by sliding on and clipping into a groove on the crate's base. They are simple to set up (and easy to remove prior to the flight). I was pleasantly surprised by the wheel assembly's quality, and I heartily endorse the rolling model. I originally bought the XXXL model first before realizing it is too large for Alaska Airlines. I bought this cage to replace an outdated shelter cage I was using because I am a foster home for my neighborhood humane society. The mother cat and her kittens will have more space in this new, larger cage. The cage seems to be strong and well-designed. The platforms fit securely into the cages' bars and are a good size. Because the base is on wheels, it is very simple to relocate. The doors are wonderful; I adore them. Large openings are provided for simple access to the litter box, the kittens, and their mother. The drawbacks: I personally found this cage to be very challenging to assemble, and I imagine that taking it apart will be a hassle. In fact, I anticipate that I won't even try to disassemble the cage when it isn't being used for fostering; instead, I'll simply wheel it to a storage space. It appears that the hammock was made for thin cats. The bottom and top door openings are so large that I can really get my upper body in, so cleaning should not be too tough. However, I wish it had a slide-out plastic base tray for simple cleaning.I have four images. In one picture, I've placed my old cage next to my new cage for comparison, and in another, my dog, who weighs between 22 and 24 pounds, is inside the cage looking about before I put the foster mother and her babies inside.

There is one cat in our household that just doesn't get along with the others. We had no idea what to do because she was marking all over the house. Since she is an indoor/outdoor cat, we started worrying about how to keep her warm indoors during the cooler months. We configured this device to function with our dog door. She has a bed, food bowl, and litter box all for herself. The entire household is much more at peace because she is free to come and go as she pleases. We are aiming to reintegrate her into the home over the next months. The only drawback is that she might find the perches too small. Although the ladders are a joke and useless, we did use them to widen the perch. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this product.

This cage was purchased for our cat. The cage seems quite robust. I was prepared to add the zip ties after hearing that they were needed to keep the cage together, however they weren't necessary. Our cat adores the mini hammock and the pad for one of the shelves. Every night, he is comfortable in the small hammock. Rolling caster wheels make moving quite simple. My only complaint about the cage is that his litter box couldn't fit inside; therefore, we still need to put pads on the bottom in case our little furry friend can't wait until morning to relieve himself. I really enjoy this cage overall and would suggest it to cat owners.

This is a wonderful kitty habitat all around!My husband is allergic, so she can't sleep with us. I have one 10-pound cat who sleeps in this at night because she would wake us up at 4 AM every morning. This cat house is in a shower that we don't use. I draw a beautiful curtain over the shower glass door to block it from view while my cat is not inside. This thing has been ours for approximately a week. My cat is my best friend, spirit animal, and soulmate, thus I want her to feel loved and at ease at all times. She is really significant to me!Assembly: Even though it required both of us and some concentration, my spouse and I didn't find it to be particularly challenging. (Note that we didn't attach the casters.)Sturdiness: After applying numerous tiny, black zip ties to the points where the panels attach to one another and at other locations where it seemed necessary, I felt confident in the structure's stability. (Honestly, without those, I wouldn't have faith in its durability.) As far as the purchase's durability is concerned, I have some degree of confidence in them. I'm not too concerned about it with my cat because she weighs only 10 pounds and is light on her feet. Otherwise, I'd advise tying it up with zip ties.Safety: Prior to making my purchase, I studied a lot of other reviews. I discovered that some cat owners had a hard time with the upper corners not sealing with each other, resulting in cats having their paws or toes stuck and suffering serious injuries. Because my cat isn't really a climber, I was able to satisfactorily secure these locations with zip ties.Design/feline contentment: In terms of design, I think this cat housing is considerably more comfy than the two-level one I was using before. I believe cats need room, a variety of areas to choose from, and a chance to put some distance between themselves and their food or litter box. My kitty is quite content in this! In order to prevent litter spills and dust, I was also able to fit a tiny Boodah Dome litter box (Petmate Booda Dome Litter Box, Gray; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002DH8JG/ref=cm sw r cp api milizb8VQWQYM) in the bottom.Besides the one that comes with the cat home, I ended up ordering two more plush perch covers. They appear to be nice, thick, and soft, and they are Velcro-secured to the perch to keep them in place. I have not yet attempted washing them. They appeal to my cat! In my honest view, these were a little out of my price range, but I paid to have something built for this cat home.Price: This product seems like a fair value to me at little under $100 per unit with Prime shipping included.Another piece of advice: Before ordering, truly think about whether or not this cat home is the correct choice for you. It will cost a lot to ship back and be difficult to pack.Overall, with the help of some zip ties, I am quite happy with this product. Because I didn't think it was filthy on its own without zip ties, I awarded it four rather than five stars.
