I never checked underneath the 2010 Silverado I purchased in CT two years ago. I nearly started crying when I did. Rust covered the entire chassis in a thick layer. My brother, who operates a body shop, suggested this when I phoned him. I tried Corroseal and a number of different spray can rust converters until I could do it properly. They were nice, but I could see the rust starting to return.This, the degreaser, and the medal prep were the items I chose to order. The largest obstacle was removing the wax that GM had applied to the frame. I made every effort. Diesel gasoline, acetone-laced automatic transmission oil, clean strip, mineral spirits, goo-gone, etc. Everything failed. I gave deep creep from seafoam a try after reading a forum post online. The next day, I could essentially wipe it off after applying it with a spray. To remove the heavier material, I used an angle grinder with a wire cup and wheel that were both twisted. The next day, two coats of Por 15 were applied after degreasing, rinsing, applying the metal prep, and rinsing. Since then, I've traveled across the nation in the truck from LA to CT, where it is frequently humid and wet, and the frame still looks the same as the day I applied it, minus the dirt. Nothing is rusted. For anyone who might be worried, I used it on both clean and rusted metal. No problems. Even though it took a lot of work, I couldn't be happier. I can rest easy at night knowing the truck is safe and not wasting away because it appears to be brand-new. I used Corrosion X inside the frame rails, door plugs, and fenders in addition to Por 15. My truck can no longer be damaged by rust.

I first learned about Fluid film from a garage in New Hampshire approximately two years ago, and I now spray it on every equipment I purchase. Due to its enormous volume, the gallon spray kit is ideal for the initial spraying of fluid film. To touch up areas where the paint may have worn off or been washed away, keep these cans on hand. I.e., the drive shaft, differentials, and the front subframe and suspension parts. It's great to not have to put the vehicle back on a lift in the middle of the season. I've also used it on trailers, snow blowers, and leaf blowers. This will stop rust in its tracks on used equipment as well as prevent rust on new vehicles. Compared to cosmoline, it is a little bit more wet and tacky. With a little less than 4 cans and a heavy hand, I was able to work on a pre-owned GMC Yukon.

I purchased this item because my garage door's center lifting mechanism needs to be greased with white lithium oil. Since I use a cane to walk and can't easily climb my short ladder to reach the coils, using the white lithium grease I've been using has been challenging. The roller rails on the sides use a different type of grease that comes in a spray can, so I routinely clean them as part of my system's preventive maintenance. According to the technician who performed my preventative maintenance last year, this is likely the reason why my garage door opener has lasted a lot longer. Additionally, it is really messy because I have to spread the grease into the surrounding coils after squirting some into one area of the coils. The process must then be repeated on a different section of the lifting coils, therefore I must lower my ladder.I requested that he lubricate the middle lift when I had my garage door opener inspected a few months back. The wheels on my dad's old beach cruiser were so rusted out that I tried to get replacements while I was refurbishing it. I had to keep them if I was restoring the bike, they told me when I brought them to the cycling shop; "you might as well buy a new bike," they remarked. I didn't believe there was any hope of restoring them because they were all brown. But I looked up this item on Amazon. I filled a plastic container with liquid and lined it with a garbage bag before soaking the wheels overnight. They were roughly 60% clean when they were done soaking for the night. But after that, I put some steel wool into the solution to get rid of the remaining rust. The remaining rust simply melted off. I hardly scrubbed at all. Each wheel took around 20 minutes to polish, and then they were spotless! This item was fantastic. The wheels on the bike appear to be fresh.

The method behind the craziness is as follows: I was using it on some old agricultural equipment that had been buried for ages in the weeds. Get rid of the barnacle rust. Don't remove all the metal by grinding. Simply simply brush it to remove scale. Within minutes to hours, this solution transformed all solid surface rust into a tough black enamel. It spreads smoothly like milk. Apply it using a brush. Spray evenly. Refilling the bottle with any leftover product jeopardizes the integrity of the remaining contents. Whatever you pour out, use it. A few days later, I covered it with industrial oil enamel using a brush. appears to be new. ALSO, don't leave your project outside in the rain. Up till another remedy, it will turn white again. But for most of us, that is a no-brainer. I'm unsure of how long it will endure. But based on how well it appeared to work and how severely the surface rust was accelerated, I anticipate that I won't need to do this again for a very long time. I also applied it on the rims. I needed to quickly and cheaply fill up some cracks near my door handle and around the tire fenders. It doesn't need to be pretty because it's a truck. I made the decision to try this product after reading several positive reviews.The images display the before and after. I should provide some context, though. I started by using an angle grinder to remove the majority of the rust areas. As instructed, I used the metal prep and degreaser. Big holes that were entirely corroded in a couple places that I had to fix with JB Weld steel putty and buff down once it had dried with the grinder. After rinsing, drying, and applying POR-15 as instructed.This material seals well. It dries quickly and uniformly. It was left overnight. It is advised to use a top coat since I applied on surfaces that will be directly exposed to sunshine. The top coat from this brand, however, did not receive many favorable reviews. To coat the surface, I used clear Rustoleom (protects from UV).Before the top coat was applied, it looked fantastic. I wish I had taken images of it earlier. On the POR-15 areas, however, the spray I employed produced a hazy residue and tiny bubbles. Not the end of the world or anything. I just need it to function. However, I would use a different top coat product if I had to do it over again.Overall, I'm quite happy. a good product.Just one more thing: this is strong stuff. Use gloves if you have them. Use your respirator if you have one.

Since I've been utilizing this equipment, what hasn't it been able to do? It was my first purchase for use as an undercoating for my cars. I live in Massachusetts, where the roads are so heavily salted that you would think an ocean had dried up and left salt deposits on the blacktop. When I wash the automobiles twice a year, the soap not only prevents rust from forming and salt from eating away at the paint, but it also gradually penetrates the rust that already there and begins to gradually peel it away. I used to take extra care to avoid getting it on the exhaust of the cars, but I no longer bother. It simply burns off and fizzles, failing to "catch" fire. The only drawback is the peculiar odor and worried expressions I encounter while waiting at the lights as white smoke rises from beneath the automobiles. Why not give this item a try for my outdated 1999 pickup truck, which was rusting around the firewall and other areas of the engine? So I used this stuff to hose off the top and front of the engine block, the alternator, fuse boxes, air intake box, brake booster, and pretty much everything else in the engine compartment. After a few years, the engine bay's rust is mostly gone. What is it not capable of? Removes rust from metal surfaces and removes bluing from surfaces such as guns, reels, etc. Remove loose scale with coarse sandpaper or wire brush. Apply Naval Jelly liberally to rusty surface that is free of dirt, oil and grease. Wipe off immediately from painted surfaces. Allow to work for 15 to 30 minutes and rinse off. Repeat application on heavily corroded surfaces. Limit application time to 5 minutes when used on chrome or other plated surfaces

I read on the internet that this substance may remove the mess after I unintentionally melted a sheet of aluminum foil onto the bottom of my brand-new oven, and IT DID!What you should do is:Put on gloves.Use a paper towel to wipe away any stray pieces of foil.Thick globs of Naval Jelly should be poured onto the melting foil.With the help of another paper towel, spread the jelly to cover the entire area in a thick layer. (A third application is shown in the shot)Allow to sit for the night.Repeat the process daily until removed, wiping away any extra jelly and dissolved foil.It took four treatments for the size of my hand worth of melting stuff to be completely removed. Some products make claims they are unable to fulfill. The VHT SP229 Rust Convertor is unquestionably a high-quality item that goes above and beyond my expectations. I initially purchased one 10.25 oz container to treat a 7 foot Olympic weight bar that I had purchased for a great bargain at a junk yard. I decided to get grip weight plates at the same depot for pennies on the dollar because the Olympic weight bar worked out so wonderfully and they did too. I used what was still in the can—quite a bit of it—to treat some rust areas on a wrought-iron table I had acquired—also at my neighborhood junk yard—and that worked out well. This product genuinely turns the rust into a solid form of metal, as it promises to do. The item can be painted after being VHT-treated. I used Rustoleum Hammered Black spray paint for my project (I just can't say enough good things about this kind of paint). So far, one can of VHT has let me to reuse patio furniture and exercise equipment that originally cost me very little, saving me a small fortune. My endorsement of this product is unqualified. With all I just mentioned, I can't stress enough how important it is to use this product with eye protection, a mask, and gloves. Once you use the spray nozzle for the first time, you'll understand why. Because of its high potency, this product needs to be used carefully.
