Most car stereos will use a standard wiring harness that is compatible with most vehicles. However, there are some stereos that may require a special wiring harness that is specific to that particular make and model of car. It is always best to check with the car stereo manufacturer to see if a special wiring harness is required.
If you're planning on installing an aftermarket radio in your car, you'll likely need a new wiring harness. These are readily available and relatively inexpensive. You can find them at most electronics stores or online. Be sure to get the right one for your car!
How long does it take to replace a wiring harness in a car? This is a difficult question to answer because it depends on the make and model of the car, as well as the extent of the damage. In some cases, it may only take a few hours to replace the wiring harness. However, in other cases it could take days or even weeks.
A car usually has two wiring harnesses. The main harness connects the engine to the body of the car, and the secondary harness connects the engine to the accessories.

This little guy was absolutely worth the money. Please don't purchase it for that purpose because I don't watch videos while driving and I don't support it. However, some controls, such as when my wife gets in the car before me and her phone connects to Bluetooth, and I want to connect my phone instead, are greyed out while I'm driving, and there are a few more tiny things like that that wind up being a pain. Therefore, this tiny connecter works as intended. My Pioneer doesn't work as well as some radios when the ground wire is just connected, for example. Remember that two of the wires splice into other wires (like making a Y), so resist the urge to cut the head unit wires and join these to them. Two of them will only be connected with the head unit wires, which will still be attached to the car's wires. Just search for it on YouTube for amazing assistance.

For my 2002 Chevy Tahoe, this harness performed admirably. The only issue I encountered—WHICH WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THIS WIRING HARNESS—was that my powered subwoofer and separate CD changer are separate components. I had no sound when I connected everything, therefore. On the back of the stereo were two connectors. Only one fits into this connector. I was advised I didn't need the second connector that connects to the CD changer because I couldn't find anything for it. Someone on youtube informed me that the pink wire on the second connection also needs to be connected to the power amp line. I had sound as soon as I attached the jumper wire to the amp lead. I had no problems with this harness; it did precisely what I wanted it to.

This had enough wire to connect to the Soundstream VR-622HB DVD Receiver/Stereo and attached simply to the factory harness on my 2006 Honda Pilot (albeit one connector pin bent the first time). The exposed ends of the wire, which were covered with a coating that you must first remove, were a little bit too short in my opinion, but they did the job. Additionally, I had to detach the harness a few times, which was challenging to do by hand (I recommend a standard screwdriver or pliers).Additionally, the pink "Handbrake" and orange "Cam Contrl" wires on my Soundstream harness did not match the two orange wires for "Illumination/Dash Light" and "Dimmer" on this harness. When I called Crutchfield, they informed me that the pink and orange wires on the Soundstream needed to be spliced into the handbrake and reverse wires, respectively, but that the wires on this harness didn't need to be attached.NOTE: If you've never installed a stereo before, be aware that you'll either need to solder (which is suggested) or use connector caps to attach this to your audio harness. You'll also need electrical tape or heat-shrink for soldering.

These will save you a ton of headaches if you decide to replace the stock speakers in your GM vehicle. Verify the fitment for your particular car. In order to replace the OEM speakers in the crew cab of my 2007 Silverado 1500, I used these. The adapters for speaker harnesses are of high quality. The GM speaker connector is on one end of the harness, and there are two spade-style connectors on the other end that go into the new speaker directly. I had some apprehensions that the spade connectors would be flimsy or lost. That is definitely not the case. They were incredibly snug and securely fastened to the speaker terminals. Spend the $5 per pair and save yourself a ton of extra labor and hassle. Please take note that I utilized a little cable tie to cut down on the extra wire the harness added. To avoid the wiring and/or harness interfering with the power windows, I did this.

Our non-JBL 2009 RAV4 aftermarket installation on an AVH-W4400NEX head unit worked flawlessly. There are no splices to be made to the factory harness because it is merely a wiring harness. Keep in mind that you DO still need to splice the aftermarket head unit's harness to it. You must still connect to the aftermarket harness whether you solder, butt splice, twist/splice/tape it, or any combination of these. After that, the OEM harness is plug-and-play.PLEASE BE ADVISED: This harness is ONLY for a car stereo's fundamental components, including the ignition, the 12V accessory, the ground, and the four speakers. If additional features are required, such as steering wheel controls, bluetooth, etc., a different module or harness will be required. If you didn't do your homework, don't blame the harness!

The unit arrived as anticipated, and installation was straightforward with patience and attention to detail, as indicated in other reviews. A backup camera I installed also performs well; location is important. Spend the extra cash on a tailgate camera if you have a pickup truck; it will be well worth it. Although a little slower in the winter, the device responds effectively to finger touch. The Bluetooth works well but occasionally takes a while to connect; this is not a serious enough problem to change the rating. Since I'm not sitting in my van watching movies, it's not a big concern for me that the video hasn't worked as claimed. The handsfree mic is the main flaw in this device; no one can hear me clearly. I'll move it later to see if the noises improve because it could be where I placed it on the instrument panel. The majority of factory units are located above the driver's head. Overall, great value for the money and a perfect fit for the Ford F-150.

A further excellent Scosche product. The summary is as follows:Works perfectly. Since I installed it around six months ago, there have been no issues.quite simple to assembleNegative: The instructions weren't very clear.Although this is fairly typical, the wire colors did not quite match the colors on the head unit. That issue was resolved after some head unit manual study. Conclusion: Excellent wiring harness for connecting your car's aftermarket head unit. Just remember that wire colors aren't always perfectly uniform if you haven't done this before. If it's near, that one is most likely the correct one, although you might find a few stray wires on both ends that leave you perplexed. You can easily connect each wire to the appropriate wire on the wiring harness by quickly researching the functions of each wire in your head unit.

The speaker harnesses are sold in packages of two. They leave around 10" of wire and fit flawlessly in the OEM harness. Each pre-crimped connector is inserted into the corresponding slot on the aftermarket speaker. White is assigned to ( ) and black to (-). If the connector is particularly snug, you might need to work the connector in. Some aftermarket speakers have a slightly different size terminal connector. Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the connector and push it to clamp down on the male end of the speaker if it's too loose, especially on the (-) side. Make sure it doesn't fall off by giving it a firm tug to double check.

How much does it cost to completely rewire a car? The cost to completely rewire a car can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle as well as the complexity of the job. Generally, expect to pay between $600 and $1,200 to have a professional do the work.
If you're installing a radio in your car, you might be wondering if you should disconnect the battery first. The answer is maybe. If you're comfortable working with electrical systems, then it's probably not necessary to disconnect the battery. However, if you're not comfortable, or if you're unsure about what you're doing, it's probably best to disconnect the battery to avoid any potential problems.
There are three primary types of audio cables: coaxial, optical, and analog. Coaxial cables are the most common type of audio cable, and are typically used to connect audio components like CD players and amplifiers. Optical cables are less common, and are used to connect digital audio components like TVs and Blu-ray players. Analog cables are the least common type of audio cable, and are used to connect analog audio components like turntables and cassette players.
There are three types of wiring connections: 1. Wire-to-wire: This type of connection is made by splicing two wires together. 2. Wire-to-ground: This type of connection is made by attaching a wire to a ground point. 3. Wire-to-device: This type of connection is made by attaching a wire to a device, such as a switch or outlet.
There are three types of wiring systems: 1. The first type is called the parallel system. In this system, each circuit is independent of the other circuits. 2. The second type is called the series system. In this system, all the circuits are connected in series. 3. The third type is called the combination system. In this system, some of the circuits are connected in parallel and some are connected in series.
There are three types of wiring used in the automotive industry: low voltage, high voltage, and data. Low voltage wiring is used for things like the radio and interior lights. High voltage wiring is used for things like the engine and headlights. Data wiring is used for things like the computer and diagnostic systems.
